Hey folks. I've just posted a new song. It's a live recording from a show I did last week over at the Lizard Lounge. Thanks to Dan Cardinal for the great mix! The song is called "The Burning" and it features me on vocals and guitar, Jed Wilson on piano, Jacob Silver on bass, and Robin MacMillan on drums. We had an amzing night- thanks to everyone who came out! I leave my house in one hour to fly to Miami where I will set sail on the Carnival Triumph! I have never been on a cruise before- I'm becoming an honorary member of Halali for this little boat trip, playing guitar, glockenspeil, piano, shaker, and singing. It should be a blast. Hanneke Cassel and Laura Cortese and I have worked up some pretty cool arrangements of tunes! Plus, we get to go to Grand Turk and snorkel. The Crooked Still album is getting mixed this weekend! We are all so excited to get this thing done! New dates will be announced soon. xo, aoife
ps. greg gave me anna karenina for my birthday. i'm bringing it on the boat. yeah.

Happy Holidays!
I've put up two of my new songs for your listening pleasure. The first (Oh Mama) is a live cut from the Sub Rosa series. My friend Rose Polenzani has hosting some great nights over at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, full of gorgeous songs, witty banter, and insane saxophones. Check out the myspace page for Sub Rosa (www.myspace.com/subrosasociety) and try to come down to a show! The second song (Glowing Heart) was recorded down in Nashville in late November. More songs from this week of recording will be made available soon!

Some folks have been wondering who is playing what on which songs! Here's the deal. Hearts and Bones was recorded at my senior recital at New England Conservatory. I am singing, and the incredible Jed Wilson is playing piano. Malady, How Sweet, and Blue Light come from a group of demos I did in Brooklyn last winter. They may eventually make it onto a "solo" album. I sing. Nico Georis plays wurlitzer and accordian. Ryan Scott plays beautiful electric guitar and other weird things. Jacob Silver plays double bass and Rhodes bass. Robin MacMillan plays all drums and percussion.
At the end of this month, I'm headed to Nashville to record some new demos with some exciting folks down there. Look out for some new tunes on this page in December.
Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Aoife

Hello everyone- just a quick note to let people know that I'm about to do a 3 week tour as the singer for The Duhks! The incredible Sarah Dugas couldn't make this trip, so I'll be desperately trying to fill her shoes. I'm psyched to work with these guys- amazing musicians and great friends over the past few years. We'll be doing a week and a half in Denmark, then meeting up with MY band, Crooked Still in Belfast, where we'll do a double bill (with me on double duty) at the Open House Festival. Then the Duhks continue for a week and a half in Ireland. Check out their myspace for the dates... More news soon...
