EY is delighted to announce the welcome return of Greek Sensations Marsheaux who will headline EY6 at London's famous Scala venue on November 19th 2009.

Marianthi & Sophie will be performing choice tracks from their new album 'Lumineux Noir' that has become a bestseller for German label Out Of Line, spending over a week at Number One on the Musicnonstop Top 10 back in August.

Marsheaux made their UK live debut at EY1 two years ago drawing the biggest EY audience at Hoxton even though the girls were relatively unknown at that time. Marsheaux's most recent live appearance was at alternative Amphi Festival this summer where Marianthi & Sophie performed to a capacity crowd in Cologne.

Since signing to label Out Of Line in 2007, Marsheaux's irresistible mix of classic pop hooks and analogue knob twiddling have seen them stretch their exotic appeal where they have even picked up a devoted Goth following across the land that created electro - Germany.

The Marshy girls are also famed for their production/remix work and recently had a remix released to radio in Europe for Katy Perry's 'Hot n Cold' where the single was given a Krafty electronic twist for the clubs - a mix that got the thumbs-up from Perry herself when she first heard it.
EY6 will be Marsheaux's first UK date since playing a stunning set at last year's Infest Festival in Bradford. Expect gems from all three Marsheaux albums at Scala in November plus the odd remix and cover version and some very nifty stage projections.

EY is also very pleased to have UNDO/EMI's Mikro opening the night who are making a rare visit to UK shores.

Mikro have a very successful career in Greece performing on national prime time TV as well as featuring on a recent high profile ad campaign.

In between albums, Mikro have provided a film soundtrack whilst band member Nikonn had a song included on the massively popular US crime series CSI.

Along with Marsheaux, Mikro were also included on 'Electronically Yours Vol 1' with the extremely catchy 'Restart' - a track that was recently praised over at Worrapolava

An EY interview with Mikro will follow shortly....

Scala in Kings Cross has played host to many genre faves over the years including a rare Heaven 17 gig back in 2005 and tomorrow sees EY fave La Roux who will be playing there to a sold-out crowd (EY report also to follow).

This lush venue will be the perfect home for the next Marsheaux concert and we look forward to seeing all you lovely people there!

Tickets for this event will go on sale very shortly ad we will bring you more details of this event including ticket prices etc later this week.

Review
Here it is - the release of Electronically Yours "EY Volume 1", possibly the most significant collection of new electronic pop music since 1981's "Some Bizzare Album" which launched the recording careers DEPECHE MODE, SOFT CELL, THE THE and BLANCMANGE.  Featuring synthly the best new acts on Planet Earth, "EY Volume 1" has been pre-programmed for your listening pleasure!

Electronically Yours started life as a blog in tandem with Secrets Online, both in celebration of synthesizer pioneers THE HUMAN LEAGUE.  The thrill of electronic music merged the two sites into one.  But then in late 2006, the discovery of Greek electro-maidens MARSHEAUX changed everything...

EY webmeister Rob Windle (AKA Orac)'s belief in the duo's wonderful analogue synchronicity and Eurocentric charm led to them headlining the first 'EY Night' for their live UK debut in London and the aftermath was an enthusiastic union with Undo Records to bring you this CD.   Only one condition was specified...all the tracks had to be 'really good'!

So it is only apt that MARSHEAUX contribute a brand new track "Sadly" to this collection as well as having a hand in several of the remixes on show.  "EY Volume 1" perfectly captures a fantastic moment in time. The last 24 months have seen a resurgence in what is known to many as 'electropop'.  In the past, it was the mainstay of boys with their toys who were prepared to play the role of 'outsider' in yesterday's tomorrow.  What has revitalised the genre without a doubt are the feisty, glamourous ladies who are not only fronting the music but are helping to create it too. No electropop puppets here! 21st Century electro is fresh BECAUSE of the female voices... 80s synth pop never sounded this sexy!

So taking the lead from 21st Century female-fronted electronic acts LADYTRON, GOLDFRAPP and MISS KITTIN, this brilliant compilation brings together the best of 'neu musik' for those who still love the sound of synth.

No guitars here and frankly who cares?

The Marshy girls with UNDO/EMI CD 'EY VOL 1' last week in Athens - image: Chi Ming LaiGreek Sensations Marsheaux are one of the most popular acts to feature on EY in recent years - are the girls are back with 'Lumineux Noir' - the astonishing follow-up to 2007's 'Peek A Boo'.

German label Out Of Line are scheduled to release one of this year's most eagerly awaited albums in late summer shortly after the CD single release of 'Breakthrough' - that comes with a most spectacular extended Marshy remix - sadly this mix is missing from the Amazon mp3 bundle which is available to download from May 29th,.

'Lumineux Noir' is many things...

It's a collection of shimmering beauty and pulsating oscilators that purr and buzz to some very seductive vox and complex hooks . It will warm your hearts whilst 'Sorrow' will send shivers down your neck with it's haunting analogue strings.

'Breakthrough' the very first Marsheaux CD single on Out Of Line RecordsDepeche fans might notice one or two loving nods to tracks like 'In Your Room' on 'Sorrow' or the early innovation of OMD on 'Thousand Leds' but our current personal fave is 'So Far', the track that Stuart Maconie requested a copy of at EY4 last month with it's crunchy Rex The Dog bassline and quite possibly... the finest Marsheaux chorus to date.

Girls really do sound and look better with synths....

To celebrate this forthcoming release, UNDO records have created a special extended remix of the insanely memorable ' Lumineux Noir' track entitled 'Summer' which is just one of many analogue stompers (and future classics) from the new Marsheaux album.

Marsheaux in Germany - image Black CatThe 'Summer' Forum Extended Mix is available from today to download free to members of the official Marsheaux forum - a place full of lively, yet warm debates on all things analogue - old and new from Mode right up to Little Boots and La Roux.
The remix download will also be available to new members and it takes just a few seconds to sign up to the official Marsheaux forum.

To grab this exclusive new mix from those very talented Undo people, simply hit on this link for these are good times to be a fully fledged Electrohead
