hello all,

our good friend and fine drummer Dan Wintersteen will be departing Paper and Sand.  we appreciate all his time and dedication over the past year and will miss him greatly.  you'll be able to see him on the drums in NYC with several very talented artists.

we are therefore seeking a new drummer.

if you are talented, dedicated, and able to tour, please contact paperandsand@gmail.com

thanks for your time.

Paper and Sand is in search of a sweet stencil-able logo. This may be used on merch bins, guitar cases, Kyle's bass cab, and whatever else it would look righteous on. The logo must clearly denote that whatever it is stenciled upon is indeed an instrument of rock.

The logo must be stencil-able and should use at least one of the following:

battle axe
broad sword
skull
war hammer (think Marvel comic's Thor)
dynamite
a heart (but only if it's been impaled)
a mace

No lightning bolts though - Jon doesn't like them.

Submit these to Paperandsand@gmail.com

If you make something awesome and we use it, we'll send you merch.

Dear Friends,

we can now officially announce that we have inked a licensing deal with MPL Communications, who will be shopping our music for film and television placements, and other great things.

we're very excited and have high hopes for where this will lead.

also, direct paypal links are now active.  you can order both of our records and our t-shirts directly from us.  it's quick and easy and you can show your love.

on our page you'll see a whole bunch of shows over the next few months.  and we're gearing up for a real tour starting in early july.

be well,

Do you have photos of Paper and Sand?? We want to start collecting photos from fans. Preferably gig photos, and not incriminating college party photos. When we get a bunch we'll start an album and post them on here and on facebook. If you want to contribute then please shoot us a message.

We have an old microwave in our rehearsal room now. It's sweet. We use it to make tea. Next is a mini fridge.

Three tunes have been completed since Dan and I have joined the band. Come out to see us and you will hear them. Rehearsals have gotten a little silly, now that we all have microphones in front of our faces. Yep, we're all singing. Or sometimes yelling. Don't get scared, Wil is still the main vocal guy. Hopefully Dan will have a sweet headset soon. And I will play with a fingerless glove on my right hand. Just like Rick Savage.

Hi friends.

With this new line-up will hopefully come a new internet presence. It's time to get down with blogging. Dig it?

I'm the newest member of Paper and Sand. I'm also the guy that's been sending out the super cheesy myspace/facebook bulletins and updates lately. Good news: There will be many more.

We've spent the last six weeks or so getting me up to speed on the Thick As Thieves material. We've also dusted off some tunes from Wolf At My Door that haven't been played in a long time. Just as quickly as I could learn the Thieves stuff, we started on some new songs. One of which is already in the set list. You definitely want to keep an eye on our winter gig schedule. We're branching out to some clubs we've never played before, bringing a lot of new music with us.

Last night we shot the photos for the Thick As Thieves liners. The record is done, we're just finishing up the layout. In case you were wondering, Dan looks as handsome as ever.

You can also keep up with us on Twitter and Facebook. All of this internet stuff makes me dizzy.

Hope to see you soon

Hi everyone,

Paper and Sand has been going through a transitional period of sorts. We have unfortunately parted ways with our good friend (and great drummer) Adam Christgau. The past couple years have been great for everyone involved....we've played a lot of great shows together and had a lot of good times. We wish Adam all the best in his current and future endeavors (you can see him onstage with Jenny Owen Youngs, among others) and we thank him for his hard work and for all the time we've spent together.

Paper and Sand is still very much a functional entity and will be performing August 9th at the Greenlight Festival in connecticut (with Fire Flies, Age of Rockets, Toby Goodshank, and many more) and September 1st at the Delancey in NYC. joining us on drums will be Dan Wintersteen. more gig announcements and recording news should be forthcoming shortly.

thanks everyone for your support thus far.

hi everyone,

apparently our "Wolf at My Door" record was on the front page of the itunes store yesterday, under the "new releases" section.  apparently it's still there today (though now you have to scroll left one page.  i guess we're not as important as Justin Timberlake).

we also got our first hate review.

a more detailed bulletin will be forthcoming shortly from Wil.  i don't want to totally steal his thunder.  but thought y'all should know.
