I’ve been getting some people asking on facebook and emails and things about where to get my tunes.  I just uploaded all of my originals that aren’t too embarassing to show to the public to a website…

Also, I’ve gotten some questions regarding the covers I’ve been doing as well.  Here are all of those.

Thanks so much friends for listening n stuff.  I really appreciate it so much!

I post a bunch of covers and sometimes originals that aren't on here or youtube on a blog I often write in.  Usually it's more of a variety of styles and artists than my youtube videos.  Anyhow... in case you were interested, here ya go!

Thank you so much!  I'm sorry it's taking so long to get the letters, cds and drawings back to you.  I decided to record a couple more rough demos for you guys to listen to before I send the disks out.  I've got some new tunes I've been working on and I've just got to get to a computer to record them.  I should have a couple new tunes with rough recordings just for you guys by the end of this week, and then I'll send out all the packages.

Again, sorry for the delay.  I promise it's for a good reason.

Thanks so much guys.

Love,
Jeff

Hey friends,
As some of you may or may not know, I'm going to be doing some traveling and playing shows in different parts of the country this summer.  I only just recently found out that I'll be joining oh foot on June 27th and opening for them on their summer tour less than a week ago.  Anyhow, the bottom line is my funds for this tour are a bit... well... lacking, and any help I could get would be so appreciated.

So...
I have three brand new recordings of the songs Twenty-two, Seeds in the Ground, and Untitled 12 done for the cd I'm currently recording with JT Royster.  The songs are much better quality than the recordings on my myspace and the Seeds in the ground track features vocals from Kiersten Holine, JT Royster, and cello from the talented Christina Styer.  If you guys would like a cd with these 3 tracks plus all the other demos I have, I will send it to you at virtually any price you would like.
If you want to donate a dime, a buck or 5 bucks or whatever you feel you can spare, just send it in an envelope addressed to;
Jeff Pianki
827 Barberry Dr.
Milford, MI 48381
In return, I'll send you a cd with all the songs mentioned above, a hand written thank you letter and maybe a drawing of a dinosaur if you'd like.  I'm sorry I can't give much more than that, but as I said before, my funds are a bit lacking.
So anyhow, I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and if you don't have any money to spare, that's fine and I completely understand.  If you still want the songs, send me a letter or something and I'll still send you the cd.  Keep in mind I leave in less than two weeks, so the sooner you send the letter, the sooner I'll be able to get you the cd... as I'll be on tour until mid july and won't have access to my mailbox until then.  I promise all the money will go towards gas and food on the tour and not towards something random and unnecessary.  Also, if it comes after I leave, I'll put it towards the midwest tour with Jt and Kiersten in August.
Thanks so much,
Jeff

Hello friends,

I thought I'd write this little entry to let you in on a couple happenings, as well as get some feedback on one in particular.  First off, I just finished recording a couple songs this past weekend with a man named Michael Swanson.  He's a real nice guy who lives in a town where I just played a show who offered to record a couple of my songs for free, and in exchange he can use them for a school recording project.  He's in the midst of the whole mixing process and whatnot, so I'm not altogether sure when I'll have the finished recordings, but when I'll do, I'll make them available to you as soon as I can.

Second, I'm playing a show this Sunday at the historic second floor of the Howell Opera house along with Koji, Jaytee Royster, and some other talented musicians.  There are only 30 or so tickets left, and it's cheaper to buy them online beforehand then at the door, so make sure you click on that poster for the show I have posted in my profile.  I'd love to see you there, and it's not very often that Jaytee and I play shows together around here.

Lastly, I've gotten
lots of messages and things from people saying that they missed the
past couple live web shows because of work or something. I think I'm
going to do another one next week either Monday night at 9 (eastern
standard time), or Thursday night at 9. You guys should let me know
which night is best for you and I will play for you on whichever night
works out best for most of you. If enough of you guys are up for
watching and hanging out both nights, might even be possible... Just
let me know what night is best so I can set the date!

Thanks everybody,
Jeff

Current mood:  optimistic
If there's one thing I've learned about life in the past few years, it's that life doesn't wait until your ready.  Life just happens, and you can never feel ready or secure enough about it, and it needs to be that way.  It's human nature to want what you can't have; to never be satisfied.  No matter how much I tell myself "if I just had that one thing, I'd be content forever", the reality is my human characteristics would soon kick in and tell me I want more than what I have.  I suppose these abrupt changes and curve balls are just the world's way of keeping us entertained while we're living in it.  I've also learned that there are two ways of dealing with our nature.  One of which is in destructive manner in which you ruin things for yourself and those around you.  The other way is to continue trying to better yourself, but accept that the world around you doesn't revolve around you.

It's really easy for life to get the best of you and to consume your emotions and all that jazz.   The hard part is not staying down when you feel low, and I think that's something I really need to work on.  I've never had a new years resolution before, and I think this might be a little late... but I resolve to make the best out of everything that comes at me in 2009.  I will get hurt this year, both mentally and physically, but I'm going to try my hardest to turn everything bad into a positive in some way, whether it be a growing experience or something different.  I guess we'll see.

Maybe that was too personal for a blog on a music myspace, but I was just thinkin and then I thought "maybe I'm not alone".

Tonight I started making some rough recordings of songs I've written throughout the past month. The first one I recorded is a little bit more like stuff I've written in the past than anything else I have, so I figured it would be an okay song to start this whole process with. It's called "a little closer" and it's inspired by just about everybody I know.

We forget
we fall and we're full of regret
you can say what you want when your heart is controlled by your head

I felt so low
winded by a softened blow
but I won't even think about it
because it always gets better with time

You wake up one day and you don't recognize your face
and home is a place that feels so far away
I felt like I lost myself, but I lost my place
so I'll keep walking and I'll get a little closer every day

You're a silhouette
you fail and feel too upset
though I'm not sure what it is you'd expect
Just a shape I haven't colored in yet

I felt so slow
guided by a nameless glow
and a fortune I knew long ago
in a field full of flightless crows

You wake up one day and you don't recognize your face

and home is a place that feels so far away
I felt like I lost myself, but I lost my place
so I'll keep walking and I'll get a little closer every day

Current mood:  grateful
I know I can be pretty bad sometimes at getting back to comments and messages in a timely manner, and I apologize for that. Just know I read and appreciate every single message and comment you guys send me so much and I try to get back to as many as I can!

Seriously, when I started putting my music on the internet, I thought that maybe if I was lucky, someone would say I sounded okay for just being some random redheaded kid covering Sufjan, and I would post stuff either out of boredom or because I was too afraid to play in front of real people. I feel like through all you nice people I have gained some sort of self confidence I don't think I would have had otherwise. I even play shows sometimes... which is definitely something I never thought I'd have the courage to do. Seriously thanks so much to everybody who sends me messages saying that you listen to my music or it has helped you get through something or that you show it to your friends or put my songs on mixes for people or even just kind little sentiments about the type of person they sense of me behind the music they hear. Words can't describe how much you've done for me. I feel horrible that I don't have some sort of album with good recordings right now, but just as a way of saying thanks I have a whole mess of my songs available for free download on an earlier blog. Please if there's anything I can do (that doesn't involve writing tabs, because I don't really know how), just let me know. I owe all my friends on here big time!

Thank you so much,
Jeff
