As some of you may know, Guns N Roses is finally releasing Chinese Democracy tomorrow (exclusively at Best Buy, suckers!). I'm one of those metal heads who was waiting in line at midnight when Use Your Illusion I and II came out. I've heard a lot of talk about Chinese Democracy - I even heard several of the leaked songs over two years ago. Most of the talk has been negative. A lot of people are saying Axl has lost it. They're saying that it can't live up to the hype and the wait. Some people who have heard one or two of the songs are saying the album sucks. Morons. Every one of them.

I've been listening to it here on myspace for the past few days, and while there are a few weaker songs, the album as a whole is great. The songs "If the World" and "Sorry" alone would make it a purchase-worthy cd. Some of the songs (the two just listed among them) are decidedly un-GnR sounding, which may account for some trash talking by some lugheads who want to live in the past, but to me those are the best songs on the cd. Slash is missed, but the guitar work is intriguingly different, and there are some solos that are stunning. The more I listen to it, the more I like it, and while it is different, I would compare it favorably to Appetite for Destruction or the Use Your Illusion cds.

So, listen to it - with an open mind - buy it, enjoy it. Plus, we all get a free Dr. Pepper. What could be better?
