BACK HOME AGAIN.. song About my home town Newport Tennessee in beautiful East Tennessee. The gateway to the' Appalachian/Great Smoky Mountains. This is where as a songwriter I wrote most of my songs. In the video you will see a big blue wall downtown and' that was my home and my business" ENTERTAINMENT plus" I would sleep in the floor on concrete and' folks would come by at all hours in the night to rent videos. Sometimes the hard workin mountain boys would come in and' rent 100 videos at a time. I would let them keep the videos for 2 weeks. After I moved away the wall was painted brown but' looks like Pat had it painted back blue. When I would call something in I had for sale on swap/shop at' WLIK I would always say just look for the' big blue wall downtown. I still remember siting outside at 3:00am in the morning writing songs. I promoted and' sold a lot of bluegrass back then. I was a dis jocky at WLIK at this time too and' I created the' APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN BLUEGRASS HOEDOWN that stayed on the radio for' 7 years ever Saturday morning.

 


BLUE I'M SO BLUE... A country love song in the style of Richie Valens. I wrote this song in 1996 while I was playin and' writting songs for the' REED sisters in Mt Juliet . They were playin down on 2nd Avenue and' was at TOOTSIES for awhile. This one has a fresh kinda new sound to it and' very commerical. This song is for review & recording and a 1 take demo onely.    Like Willie' Waylon and' Hank JR. Larry Joe has always been his own man with his own music since he was 8 years old. I started writing very young says Larry Joe. I guess I was kinda forced into becomming a songwriter. I coulden't remember the words to the songs I heard on the radio when I tried to sing um. I had to write my own and' I could remember the words to them. I was playin moms broom when I was onely 5 years old and trying to be like ELVIS. It would be Kitty Wells and' Hank Williams Sr songs while lying in the floorboard of his dads old 1948 GMC log truck with' no windows at the rock tavern in Del Rio (NEWPORT) Tennessee that he first felt the goose bumps from' a song. I have always told folks that music chose me. It was always there and' seems I never had no other choice.

and' Hank had to go through. Its never eazy for' a new kinda sound to break into the business. The miles and' miles brings vision to write about and' the journey' you got to go see before you can tell me about it and seems you always remember the struggles that made your mind grow. I truly believe it makes you stronger and' a better real deal writer. There have been a lot of good times too and I have got to meet and see what most folk onely get to read about in a book.  Its a known fact that the real outlaws that is not afraid to drag one foot across the white line cuts trails for' others to walk on. Sometimes something comes along that is fresh and with words that cut deep with truth and a brand new sound.

Larry Joe is no stranger to Newgrass & Bluegrass' I grew up on High Lonesome sound there in East Tennessee and' I have had lots of bluegrass bands.
