Surprisngly... I'm not drunk writing this. I have 364 days to do whatever it is I gotta do to make it a bit further than I did last time.
That being said, here are some things I'll fall back on this go-round.
1. having shit just to have it ie; online friends, clutter, stuff.
- realistically, I'm only on Myspace to network for music. I haven't done (produced) any music since this summer for bullshit reasons (to me). Shame on me, but follow my logic. Do I really NEED as many friends as I have? No. If I was particular the only people I'd have on here are the ones I've met, need to meet at some point (Will, Maya, Exit, Dari, all y'all whattup) and people I'd be interested in meeting if they or I didn't live where we/they live. That narrows the people I'd keep to less than 200. More is not always better. I've started a cutting process due to a Bruce Lee quote and common sense hitting me. I'm not deleting anyone but I'm reaaaally wondering why I even have a Myspace page some days. Facebook run tings.
2. NOT doing shit as soon as it comes up.
- I'm lazy. Anyone who knows me knows this. Previous attempts to NOT be lazy have lead to drops in morale and massive property damage. However this only happens when I put things off until "later". Later could be later that hour, day or next live bigfoot sighting. I get funny looks when I say "ok let's go RIGHT now" from my friends and people who I do stuff with. They call it being extra or being hype. I call it a pre-emptive strike on procrastination. Or doing the world a really big favor.
3. Use of spare time.
- The whole point of having "spare" time is to do stuff you like doing that doesn't get in the way of your standard of living. In the past, my spare time was being zombified on the internet looking at weird shit. Because that's all the internet is; 50% porn, the other half weird shit. This time I think I'll use my spare time to actually practice DJing or working out or coming up and implementing a way to make money so that I have more spare time to continue this loop.
4. Oversleeping.
- the problem here is not so much the duration of sleep, but what time I do it. Some days I do my day job which requires me being up @ 6am to open up @ 7am. I don't fall asleep until past 1am usually. That's alot of rest I'm not getting. And that lack of rest opens up the procrastination can of worms I've become so fond of.
I could go on a bit but this should give you an idea of where I'm going for the next few months. I'll try not to be set in my old slothy ways if not for myself then for the myspace community reading this.
Anybody reading this, let me know what you plan on doing with the rest of your year. I'm taking applications too ;).
(-_-)

Last year I decided to do away with new year's resolutions. It made more sense to make a daily or weekly one rather than try to keep a theme going for 365 days.
2008 was an okay year in terms of getting stuff done. Really. Even when I got nothing done and the status quo kept getting worse (and there were moments/days that it felt like that). Now that I've done maybe 80% of all the "where do I fit into the grand scheme of things" searching, from now on life just MIGHT be a little less complicated. "Might" being the operative term here.
NYE is looking like Janelle Monae on South Beach with the co-workers/homies. I might be in ATL, Toronto, Chicago or NYC this coming year if things play out how they're supposed to whether I DJ or I'm just there to be there to shake hands and kiss babies (and the women holding them just to make the cipher complete). Things have a weird way of working out for me so let's see if lightning strikes more than twice.
808's and Heartbreaks best song to me was "Amazing" with Young Jeezy.
and I know I've been slacking on my myspace blog game... i promise to do better lol.

2 songs i'm currently beefing with:
Beyonce - Put a Ring On It; B goes and gets married and knowing full well she has a fanbase that covers 3/4 of the planet, and now she actin' brand new. And now EVERYONE wanna get married/ring-a-dinged up. With a diamond that makes the iceberg that sank the titanic look like something you put in your drink. It's not that serious. Besides, layaway isn't what it used to be.
Jazmine Sullivan - Bust Ya Windows; wtf @ the property damage. I know, I know. Some people probably deserve it. I have a female friend who will fuck up your credit if you do something wrong. But car windows? In a recession? Come on... Allstate ain't THAT good.
I ain't sayin' but I'm just saying.
ant.

More shit from the archive. From 1994 until 2003 hip-hop was great. After 50 Cent's first album dropped, the whole thing just went... somewhere. Jay's retirement wasn't helping things either. I forget what I was doing back then.

Since we last left our aspiring hero (me):
New residence which looks better on the inside than the neighbors he shares the building with.
New arsenal including an Apple Macbook (in black because it's FUCKIN' sexy) and some software/hardware that'll even out the musical playing field.
*fades narrator*
So yeah, life's good. And iChat is the new porn. Yeah I said it. Anything that lets you video chat LIVE with people and harass them for no reason is great in my book. Now that I've seen this bit of greatness I'm trying to figure how very few of my peers have it. Trade that shit in!!!!
And I've been having great weekends for a month. Yeeeah, life's good. What's new with y'all?

Gotta preface this blog by saying: Everything I type on here is in the spirit of fun and laidbackness. Don't take what I say on here seriously because it's not meant to be serious. I'm a mostly laidback person who does mostly laidback things. If that's not for you, I cannot help with that.
Anyway: I have found a remedy to those movies that you see a preview for, get the review and have mixed feelings about without having previously seen it. Sneak in and make the judgement call afterwards. Last movie I paid money for was "The Dark Knight" and I felt that it was money well spent, even for recession standards where you have to penny pinch unless you're balling like that. But flicks like "Wanted" and "Pineapple Express" which are just okay, I'll save the $9-10. Really. My only exception being "Stepbrothers" which is in the same vein as Pineapple but this was before I started the new strategem. Let's face it, not every movie is worth your hard earned dollar.
The List Of Summer Movies To Sneak Into for 2008: Pineapple Express Wanted The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor Wall-E Hancock (the second half fucked up the movie for me) Kung-Fu Panda X-Files etc.
So the criteria for sneaking in goes like this: If the reviews and preview have you on the fence, get in for the free. If you don't want to see it period but you have nothing to do and you've seen everything else, get in for the free. ONLY SPEND YOUR MONEY ON MOVIES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN.
"But Ant, what if I haven't heard the reviews and randomly pick whatever they're showing?"
In that case, I'll trust your judgement as to whether to pay or not. If the theatre's defenses ain't that strong (On occasion I pretend to duck into a bathroom, count to 20 then re-emerge like I'm a regular customer), by all means exploit the holes in the system. If they ask you something, say you threw away your ticket.
This is like the music business. Make music worth purchasing, make movies worth the ticket price.

Here's a guest blog I did over at BlogXilla's site. Big up Twitter for the connect! 5 Unconventional Dates by Main Event/Anthony to the S.As for photos, I should let you know now that I don't usually do this. The fact that I have a BlackBerry Curve phone with a camera in it coupled with Claudio's suggestion that I talk about myself more outside of the Myspace blog has brought me to this point. Here goes... something. 1-2:The ninjas were part of Kasumicon, a festival celebrating all things anime. I only know this because a friend of mine who was participating in it educated me before I started questioning why the ninja's weren't ninja-ing somewhere else. 3-7: I hit up a design store called Arango to see what exactly I could customize my future residence with. The store's theme seems to be "do more with less and make sure that there are no regular looking objects". It was very interesting but I'll let you know if I finally get anything from there. 8: Scene from a local bar called Gatsby's. I've recently taken up playing pool for fun, not very good at it yet but I'd only be worried if I was playing for money. Which I don't.... until further notice. Now back to our irregularly scheduled blogging.
