Buy it now directly from Bully Records.

Buy it now on iTunes.

"Of Cities" is dusty and covered in dirt and grit that crackles and pops through each song.(...) it just might be the best new release of 2009. - Popmatters

Buy it, or miss out on a fantastic listening experience that I’m sure will become a timeless classic. - Cyclic Defrost

Current mood:  bored
Just a very quick newsletter to wish everyone big things in 2007. None of that crappy bring-you-down stuff. Health, work and turkey sandwiches all around.

Now that this is out of the way, on to some self-promotion...

The Dead Space DVD is finally out on Bully Projects. Why is Bully releasing a movie? Because I can and I liked it. You can check out the website for info as well as a trailer for it.
www.deadspacemovie.com

D-Styles and Matth are delivering their respective singles this week so expect that to drop in early February.

Joe Beats has finished his album and is due to be released on March 13th.

Ok, now back to watching some Norm McDonald standup on Youtube.

Time for yet another installment of Marco's late night writings. Gonna make this one short.

"Yes, 'THE' Silver Apples"
I found myself saying that quite a lot since I announced the release of the Silver Apples album a couple months ago. And now, you can finally hear what all the fuss is about. Not that there was that much hype about it. It's not like anyone actually pays attention to what I'm doing apart from you fine folks. This is a very exciting release for Bully. The only way thing more exciting than this release now would be a)not being broke b)a date c)new season of the Amazing Race... well, at least I'll get the last one on Sunday. So, the record is out and should be in stores sometime next week. Or the one after. Or directly from the website. The vinyl is running a little late and will ship next week.

If you're curious about them, you can download a free MP3 from the XLR8R site. They might not write about Bully, but they'll hook me up with this free advertisement.

"No, not Matthew Kelly...MATT Kelly"
This joke will be lost on a lot of people I guess (including me until I was told to google it). So between working the kitchen in a vegan restaurant and getting me hooked on playing xbox (I've now kicked the habit, thank god....next up, no more Doritos), Matt's been busy recording his debut album. At first, it was supposed to be a forty-minute song but it evolved into seventeen different songs so we both decided to drop the initial concept. Then he scrapped a bunch of those songs and wrote better ones, which is good. Also shipping this week and now available from the website.

So, with these two new full lengths done, what's next you might ask? some pretty damn huge credit card bills. I'd just like to thank Visa, Mastercard (twice) and especially American Express for making all this possible.

It's almost 5 so I'll round this up quickly...

- starting another label over the next couple months. no name for it yet. first release will be a Controller 7 12"
- I'm releasing a documentary called 'Dead Space' this november. you can check out some more info about them at www.myspace.com/deadspacemovie
- got a couple 7" projects that are still in the works.
- and I'm out.

Taking a short break from pulling my hair out (i.e. doing my taxes) to write a short update. I don't have that much hair left (thanks dad!) so after this weekend, I might be completely bald. More Costanza than Willis.

On the menu tonight...
- Silver Apples (!!!!!!!!!!)
- Sixtoo 'It's the Mindfuck, YO!' CDEP
- Elektro4 on vinyl
- One Speed Bike
- Tuna sandwiches.

Some people might've heard about this, but the big news for Bully this past few weeks is the fact that we're releasing the third, unreleased album from the Silver Apples. They released two albums in the late 60's and their label folded before they could release the third one, who was recorded in 1969. Does it sound like anything else on Bully? Nope. But they were an influence for many of the people releasing music on Bully. So, you can hear what all the fuss is about in late August. CD and double LP.

Also, there will be two EPs of remixes from the album that should be out around the same time. Gotta keep the 7"s coming.

'It's the Mindfuck, YO! Sit your ass down'. When Rob told me that's what he wanted to call his new CD, I had to ask him twice if he was kidding. As long as the tracks are dope, I don't care if the record is called 'Cuntface Goatfucking Drums'. 17 minutes of library records mixed and processed through 'Weaponface' aka Sixtoo's modular synth. Hey, some people name their cars/private parts. He names his synthesizer. Out now.

Competing with Sixtoo's mix for long-ass name for a record is One Speed Bike with his new 7" which is called (take a breath) 'A swimmer in the ocean is not afraid of the rain'. Ok, it's not that long, but it's the best thing I could come up with to segue into this paragraph. 1-Speed Bike is Aidan Girt who kills drums for Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Exhaust.

Took long enough, but I raised enough cash (or as I like to call it, new-credit-card) to release the Elektro4 album on vinyl. Some songs were left out due to vinyl constraints, but if you've got the first 7", there's not that much material missing. ET4 edited the songs to make them more DJ-friendly. I say we should make everything more ladies-friendly, but that's just me.

Andrew, I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Matt Kelly CD out next month. And if some people hand in their tracks, those records will be coming out too. Fuck a streetdate. I'm all about 'when-things-show-up-at-my-place-date'.

(I said VERY short update and I meant it)
Monday, March 20, 2006
I've found a new game. It's called 'How long can I go without writing an update'.

My only excuse is that I've been busy working on releases.
The Simahlak 'Son of Sakuraba' EP (FU02) came out a couple weeks ago and yeah, it's raw as hell. Twelve tracks (twelve!!) of MPC60 sampling and some tape manipulation.

The repress of Controller7's 'Expansions' EP is shipping out this week. In true Bully repress, the sleeve is a different color than the original one. Tommy is currently working on his third Bully EP which should be coming out around November along with a CD compiling his Bully works.

The Colmar Crew EP (FU023)will be sent out early next week (if the sleeves ever show up!).

And on the Bully Projects side of things...

About a month ago, the Buddy Peace Megamix 7" (BP001) was put on sale exclusively on HHV.de in Germany. Our favorite redhead dj used elements from the Bully catalog to create two sides of heat.

This week, we're releasing the first Bully book. It is by Montreal artist OTHER and features 88 pages of linocuts and drawing. Also included is a 3" mini-cd containing 15 minutes of Sixtoo hot jams. Limited to 1000 copies (although I've only got 800 copies as the rest is already gone). Don't sleep or you'll be getting it on eBay in a year.

Sixtoo is working on his own Bully book which should be out this summer.

Up next...
- Meaty Ogre 'Bali' 7"
- Maker 'Elephant Strut' 7"
- Joe Beats 'Indie Rock Blues revisited' 7"
- Matt Kelly CD
- One Speed Bike 7"
- Elektro4 'Keystroke One' vinyl LP

Mr Dibbs, Jel and Omid have been added to the ever-growing list of projects being worked on.

Sorry if this is an extremely boring update. Been stamping and numbering books all day and I need some sleep.

So, instead of catching up on my accounting like I should be doing, I decided I'd take a moment and write a newsletter for all you lucky people...

Did you hear the new M.I.A.single? The one where she's bigging up Bully? Yeah, I'm sure she's not, but who knows what she's saying. Then again, I like to tell myself that M.I.A. stands for 'Marco Is Awesome'.

This tuesday, you can officially walk into your local record store and buy the Sixtoo 'Duration' CD/DVD reissue. For those of you who never saw it, which is probably a lot considering Sixtoo only made 50 copies of the original video (which have been selling for crazy prices on eBay), the 'Duration' video follows 6.2 as he goes around Halifax stealing electrical plates, then bringing them back home and painting them...Well, I won't give you the whole breakdown of what happens because I hate when people give away the ending. What I can tell you is that it doesn't involve any nudity (safe to watch with your in-laws), car chases (although we did talk about it) or the girl that everyone considers ugly but who, by only taking off her glasses and getting a haircut, becomes the hottest girl in high school. There's also two bonus galleries of Sixtoo-related art. And of course the Duration album. It's also hand-packaged and shrinkwrapped by good ol' me (with help from Canadian graffiti legend OTHER).

Controller 7's latest EP, Egg, is almost out of print. Some people called it more french (I'm french and I don't even know what that means...what? his EP is bettter in bed and he knows about cheese??). I call it more hot.

DJ Moves' 7" started shipping last week to stores and distros. As far as I know, it's the only instrumental crunk 7" ever. Add to that the psyched-the-hell-out b-side and this is a first in the story of mankind, people. We're all about innovation.

This week, we got double props from Boomkat (www.boomkat.com) . Single of the week AND DVD of the week. I wish this meant anything to my parents. Maybe they'd stop harassing me to get a real job. Sorry folks, I'd rather work 60 hours a week, be completely broke and somewhat happy than work 40 hours a week, have a steady paycheck and have to cover up my tattoos so the secretaries don't give me strange looks.

The Sixtoo & Norsola 'Homages' EP will be shipping out around the 30th. Seriously, I don't have much to say about this one. Sixtoo and Norsola (from Godspeed You! Black Emperor) came up with a sick record. That's it. And I'm not saying anything about the sleeves yet.

Quick news:
- P-Love's album is still out on September 20th. CD and LP release. It's still heat.
- Matt Kelly delivered his solo 7" tracks. Should be out in a month.
- Simahlak is busy mixing down his new EP. Still.
- DJ Signify is working with Joe Beats on a collaboration EP.
- Meaty Ogre is working on his 7".
- P-Love and Matt Kelly are almost done with their new collaboration EP.
- This newsletter is getting kinda boring...
