You may have noticed (if anyone actually takes notices of this page that is) that I have not really been around or added any new music in a while. I was looking to start work on some new material this year and get some demo's up for you all to listen to.

I have had a few ideas lyrically and have written a few sets of full lyrics but i'm struggling with the music side. This is mainly down to the fact that I have no equipment other then my laptop, a mixing board and a mic.

When I made The Lonely Retreat Sessions I made it out of free samples that came with the laptop and patched them together to make the tunes. I wanted to up my game for the first proper album and got myself some better quality samples from places like computer music magazine to use, however nothing i tried really took and I got more and more annoyed with my lack of control over the project, so i scrapped it. I tried several other times after this to try and get something down but the samples would not allow me to do the style and make the music i wanted, so again i gave up.

I pretty much continued like this on and off till the end of last year when i decided that 2009 would be the year to get some new music made and include vocals. I have since tried to create some new material and again nothing has stuck and the samples i have just wont let me get to the places i want to go.

My biggest problem is that I need some proper equipment, keyboards, synths, drums, drum machines, vocoders, kaos boxes and other such gear. i also wanna include bass and guitar on the new material and have that side of things sorted thanks to a mate of mine and my brother. The big problem i have with the stuff i need is that i have no place to store it meaning that i can't invest in the equipment.

So I have decided to put this project to bed, at least for now, and come back to it at a time that i can make the record that i want to make.

However if theres anyone out that there in the UK has this equipment and would like to join forces with someone that has no equipment then please feel free to contact me, however please be aware that i don't drive so i need someone who lives somewhere that i can get to by train/tube.

The record i wanna make blends gary numan with the prodigy/pendulum/innerpartysystem with huge helpings of massive attack, unkle and portishead and the occasional hint of underworld and drum and bass era bowie.

very ambitious i know but alot of the artist i have mentioned are roughly in the same ball park in one way or another.

so until whatever time i choose to return, goodbye.

I will be starting work on some brand new material in the upcoming weeks/months. This should be ready for "release" some point later next year.

its been a while since anything was truly crafted and created and with recent changes in my life, I feel the time is right to get creative and draw from has happen.

I may post up some demo's from time to time also.

I would love to hear from you all during the process and maybe obtain some ideas as to what you would like to hear.

i have posted up a demo i created just a few moments ago, its still very rough and no where near completed, but since its the first thing created under the new name and that i haven't really done much on here recently i decided i would put it up for you to hear, comment and rate.

the finished version will hopefully contain vocals of some kind.

the official website has been updated, it now actually as a design and structure.

i have been thinking of a new name and have so far come up with 3 ideas, would really like to hear any ideas you have for what i could call myself.

I’ve been thinking for a while now about changing the name of the "band".

I haven’t been totally happy with the name since i had to change from carbon soul when i signed up on here.

i am interested to hear what you guys think of the current name and if you think i should change it and also i’d like to hear your ideas on what i should change it to.

the past 2 weeks or so have been rather creative for me, i've been working on a side project unrelated to mezzanine soul or music making in general and on tuesday for the first time in god knows how long i wrote some lyrics and a full set at that, haven't done that in a while......

hello people,

just a quick update, i have uploaded a new picture which you can see as the new main pic. i have also made the spider re-downloadable and i have also made the dark corridor downloadable as well.

I have started work on a few ideas for the new record, i hope to have something new for you to hear by july.

i'm also looking to sort out my friends list and remove some of the bands that i have on my list as some of them were placed on the list before i set up my personal page.

Hey Guys,

December is in full swing and this means that I have to start looking to the future and most importantly into the new year.

My creative juices are starting to get shifting about and i already have a few ideas swimming around my head. However the reason I'm posting is to see what YOU the people would like to hear from the new record with regards to music styles ect.

I have many ideas for many different styles but I'd love to know what you would to see or hear on the new record??

Would you like another chilled out album, a more darker album, a happy or sad album, maybe a more dancey album??
