Hey you guys,

What are your favorite Horror Movies?   Your favorite Autumn/Halloween songs?  Just admit it. You gotcher favorites, and you love them.

There is much to say about why I think Wes Craven's Nightmare on Elm Street movies (and in a sillier, kitschier way, the non-Craven-directed sequels) make up an oeuvre of promoting the heroism of strong female protagonists, but other scary movies sometimes do that too.  And Wes did it without insulting our male friends as well (except for condemning the villain who even has a sense of humor about himself).  I love dream imagery, good surreality, and I lived on Elm Street in college when this movie first went to video, what's your story on it?

This time of year I love to listen to the U2 October album (which I found complete on MySpace Music but can't figure out how to post my playlist to my profile- please help me- and Project Playlist just mostly has live versions that aren't as good of those songs - Bono was a lot better when he just thought he was the Beatles than he is now that he thinks he's Jesus.)   I have been compiling my favorite music into theme-related mixes (rather than just by artist or album) for many years, and autumn is one of my best mixes.  So it's not just U2's second album it's so many spooky leafy ghostly brisk crisp muddy meaningful songs I enjoy right now.  Bauhaus, This Mortal Coil, Kate Bush, and hey a gal, who went to school with me 'n' Laurie,  Kathy Greenholdt, started making beautiful music a few years ago!  Check out Kathy Greenholdt's MySpace and you get to hear her great song Summer's Through.

Tell me what you love about autumn. And/or tell me what it makes you dread.  Is Halloween the absolute- coolest holiday,  or is it just too creepy?  What do you listen to and watch and think about this time of year?

Cheers,
Betty

Hello!
So  I've been on Livejournal for a while, (if you like LJ but didn't know I was on there, my username over there is Pipetti).

http://pipetti.livejournal.com/">
My LiveJournal
is more bloggy and changes a lot more often  than what I do on Myspace, which is mostly just maintain a page for long-lost comrades to find me, and vice-versa.

Recently I have been thinking about taking a break from having the internets at home, to focus more intensely on offline projects, but then my sister, Little Laurie, opened a myspace page, and several other friends have found me here, and I'm glad I came over here, since all the hipsters are myspacers.

Doubtless lots of my friends are on here somewhere, so I've been sending emails and trolling around alumni directories.  If you knew me in back in my hometown, yes I did used to go by a different first name, and I have a sister and cousin the same age as me who graduated high school at the same time.

Perhaps later I'll post an update for people who haven't seen or talked to me in umpteen years.

But all seriousness aside, the short version of an update is this:

Life is good in Bettyville, and anyone who wants to know what I've been up to is more than welcome to ask!

And if you are someone who knows me, or would like to know me, I'd be pickled-tink to hear what's up with you, too!

Peace, Love, and BLincolnn BLogs,
Betty
