I met an amazing child about a year and a half ago.  He obviously felt sick and was tired.  He sat at a table at a playground watching the other children play.  He was articulate, communicative and wise beyond his years.  I asked him if he wanted to go out to the playground and play with some of the children I knew and he said he was too tired and hot.  So, we talked.

I now have a relationship with his entire family.  Beautiful Dylan has fought cancer two times now.  He's had a stroke.  He's 7 years old.

We're putting on a benefit on October 19th for the David family.  We being David Andreone, Myspace, Hotel Cafe and The Pablove Foundation/Dangerbird Records.

I would love for you to come out and meet Dylan, listen to a bunch of great music and be a part of the evening.

Hello All,

I played for the Yahoo staff yesterday.  We had so much fun.  John Lenac, Head of Programming and Artist/Label Relations and the rest of the staff, were such a great hang for us.  When I say us, I mean Kevin Fisher, Weston Hodges, David Andreone and myself.  We sang "Never Stop Trying" "A Poet Should Be Sitting Here" and "A Flaw in the Way You Love Me".  They filmed the performance and will be streaming it on Yahoo very soon!  

I'm blown away by Yahoo's support.  They are music and artist centered for sure.

More soon.

I woke up to great news.  Yahoo has featured the new video http://entertainment.yahoo.com/ and also on http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/.

After a very long time making this album it could have all been for naught.  I'm more than happy that Avalanche is getting some type of recognition.  

I'm going to the beach today.  The waves are calming and one of the most peaceful sounds I can think of.

By the way, I think there will be another show in October at the Echoplex...still pending.

I'll be playing a free all ages show tonight at The Echo (1822 W. Sunset Blvd) so if you are in the LA area come down!

Doors are at 8PM and I'll be on stage at 9:40PM but its first come first serve so come early to guarantee entry.

Current mood:  sad
Today I heard that someone I love very much, died.  Skip Miller.  Skip was a family man.  He had values.  He loved his family so much. Skip would light up when he spoke of his boys and his wife.  

I met Skip when I was 21 at the Hollywood Diner.  I heard him talking about the industry and his need to sign some artists over at RCA.  I drove home, got a demo tape, drove back to the diner and gave him my demo.  The next day he offered me a deal.  I was not able to make a record with Skip as he left the company before I was placed in the studio.  
Skip and I never lost touch over the years.  He wrote my mom notes responding to her Christmas cards sent to him.  He gave me advice.  Life advice.  Love advice.  Song advice. Advice on vocals and the business in general.  I have gone to him at the very worst and very best times in my life and he has been there.  Available.  He was always there for me...no matter what.

I will miss Skip.  What an amazing human being.

All is well here.  We've been rehearsing and playing a lot this week.  It feels good to be singing this much.  We've got a show on Wednesday at The Echo, here in L.A.  A Myspace sponsored show.  Doors are at 8pm.

I woke up very excited for coffee and a Huffington Post/NY Times read.  I can't do this every day as my schedule doesn't allow for much reading time....but, today....it's happening.  Come hell or high water.  : )
