Kellie Coffey heads into new territory with her 6 song EP Why I’m Alive. The award winning artist unapologetically stretches her creative wings and embraces different styles of music but all are graced with her incredible vocals and that is what brings this collection of songs together. From the smooth groove of Fly to the driving intensity of I’m Still Here to the personal reflection of Why I’m Alive, the EP provides what every artist strives for… a window into their soul.Ms. Coffey wrote the song God Thing with multi Grammy Award winning songwriter and recording artist Melissa Manchester. The love song is destined to become a wedding song classic. Kellie co-wrote the rest of the songs with producer/husband Geoff Koch and the intimate quality of the project comes through in every lyric and melody. Something Else explores the pain and loss when people think the ‘grass is always greener’. The title track, Why I’m Alive, is a love song to Kellie’s children. Introspective and powerful, the song captures the feeling and wonder of being a parent. Forever After captures the incredible joy of falling in love. I’m Still Here is a plaintive wail at being left behind but a statement of personal power in reclaiming one’s life. Fly reveals the inner fears and the desire to float away from all that closes in on us in life.Fear, love, angst, personal freedom… the EP Why I’m Alive is Kellie Coffey’s most personal work yet.  You can download it here- http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/why-im-alive/id339129584

Hi everyone!

Gosh.. long time no blog... sorry 'bout that! Having a new baby and a toddler has been all consuming. We are loving every minute of it, though.

So... I've gotten a lot of messages on my myspace about a song called "Don't Let Go" It aired on "All My Children" last Wednesday. It's a song written by Liz Vidal, Guy Roche and Douglas Shaw and they asked me to sing it. It's a really beautiful song that I was happy to be apart of. I wanted to let all of you know that are asking for it to keep checking back because we're going to put it up on myspace and itunes for downloading soon.

I hope everyone is doing great and want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Much love-
Kellie

I loved this movie!! It has Denzel Washington and Forrest Whittaker in it. Have any of you seen it yet? I wonder why it wasn't nominated for an Oscar? So moving and inspiring.

As some of you know, I recorded the songs for Disneyland's "Believe In Holiday Magic" show. They decided to expand it this year and asked me to sing a couple more songs. I recorded them in early October. So Tuesday night, I was invited to go down to Disneyland and watch the dress rehearsal after the park closed. Can't tell you how cool it was to be walking around in the park with it all lit up and just about 30 people there. We all gathered in front of the Castle and watched the entire show. It really is so incredible. The fireworks are shot off to the music and seem to dance across the sky. The lighting on the castle is so beautiful as it changes colors. And then they make it snow on Main Street while I'm singing "White Christmas". Even for all of us there who worked on the show, it was an emotional experience. I started thinking about how many families will be there and how it will be one of their Christmas memories. I'm just so grateful to be a part of such a special Holiday tradition.

Also, I'm doing a promotional tour for Disneyland to talk about the show, starting at the the end of November. I'll post more on this later but I'm going to sing some Christmas songs on TV and radio at a bunch of stations in San Diego and LA. And I get to go around with Mickey Mouse! So fun!

Hope everyone is doing great! Take care...

love-

What a great day!!! Besides the usual being a mom (the best), working out and coming on myspace to see what you guys are up to, I had a writing session today with Franne Golde, and Jimmy Messer. Besides just being my sweet friend, Franne has written so many great songs from "Night Shift" to "My Wild Frontier" off Faith Hill's album. We also wrote "Bluer Skies" together off of my first album. Jimmy's been in a lot of bands and has played guitar on tour with Enrique Iglesias and Kelly Clarkson. He also co-wrote with Kelly Clarkson on her latest album. Jimmy is a Texas boy, which I love! (although,he did go to UT but I forgive him) Jimmy has this great, vibey studio in a funky part of LA. We all kind of come from different places musically and that brings an energy and creativity to the process. It was fun writing a song that wouldn't necessarily be for me as an artist...and it turned out kinda sexy, kinda urban/pop. Fun for this little country girl.

I've been writing a lot lately. It's one of my favorite things of what I do. Hang out with friends and make music...that's a good day.

Hope you're having a great week too.

Hi friends,

Just wanted to let y'all know there's another article in this weeks Country Weekly about the new album.

Things have been really good in our lives. My best friend and her family came out and spent a week with us and we had so much fun! We took the kids to Disneyland and Jackson had his picture taken with Mickey and Minnie and he LOVED them! He kept saying, "bye, bye." "byyyyyyye" He sure is growing like a weed and has begun mimicking what we say every once in a while. (have to be a bit careful!!)

I have been writing a lot of songs lately and Wynonna just cut one of them! I'll let everyone know if it makes the album (sometimes artists will over-cut and choose what goes on the record) But I can't wait to hear her sing my song...she is one of my heroes! What an amazing, vulnerable and soulful voice.

Hope everyone is well! Love-
