Thank you seattle we had an amazing time at the sunset....who would have thought ballard could be full of total shredders .......................................................................................................
Colin Jones ruled the school as usual, "we got to rise up or we aint never gonna get out this box we're fucking in we gotta fight to fucking win" I saw so many people feelin it. .......................................................................................................
Joe Bryan(currently living in seattle), one of the founding members of Fleshtone and dearest of friend to us all, came on stage and did a impromptu version of "Mama Fleshtone". Totally awesome, it was good to have him on stage once again. .......................................................................................................
It's been so great having Jill back. 1 year in India, so much to share. .......................................................................................................
This was one of those shows were I think we lost it a bit, in the best possible way. It felt like we where in that place and time that gets filed away in your mind, and when you are sitting back with your life laid out in front it pops up and lets you know that things went well and life had surely been worth it.

Next night landed us in Filipino town(los angeles) at Pehrspace. This is a small gallery which also hosts shows, the space was a perfect size. Sean (Carnage..not quite sure on that) and a friend were busy making friendship bracelets which would represent a stamp for all who came. This night was inspiring to a level just outside the realm of words, we played with Birth, GabberTree, and The Red Hot Thilly Peppers. Birth was a mixture of "A Christian Death" and early "Iggy and the Stooges" except it was just one writhing screaming, jumping, yelping, person backed by a loop pedal blaring death rock through a bass amp. As far as performance goes this was one of my favorite parts of the tour. GabberTree was, as the name would infer, a Gabber Hardcore inspired thrash techno trio with members of "Realiside, Captain Ahab, and Anavan". There was screaming, whirring synth builds, pulsing bass, and samples of some classic rave jams. R.H.T.P performed re-edited versions of modern Chilly Pepper songs. Solomon DJ took it all the way on this show and kept everyone jammin, filling out the night with rare jams. Afterwards Jim took us to Canters, one of Solomons favorite food stops. We had Matzah ball soup and carrot cake.

After the Smell we ended up at the T.V. Cafe, They had pancakes, eggs, taco's, pretty much anything you wanted. Open all night, we were all starving so we were grateful coming from a city where everything closes at 9. After food we all parted ways and headed to Jim's place. Jim lovingly tucked us in offering us much appreciated showers and an amazing room with all the amenities to stay in. Next night we would be playing at Pehrsapce.

To start off our tour in a better way would have been near impossible. We played two nights one at the smell with Inland Empire, Captain Ahab, and Dan Deacon. Jim (Dancer/Hype man/magician, of captain ahab) informed us that we would be staying at "grandma's house" while we were in L.A. Assuming that we were staying at Jim's grandma's house I was quickly corrected when Jim said he was grandma, and throughout our stay he more than earned that title. The show at the smell was a blast of pure wild energy with seemingly no limits. The kids there hung on every riff and beat, working themselves into a frenzy. I would say that the smell exist in a parallel dimension were people lose connection with reality and give in to some shamanic collective unconscious. This was only helped by a lineup of artists more akin to some form of mind altering drugs than bands. Inland Empire made people jump and scream and chant, while Captain Ahab pulled every ounce of energy from the crowd, transferred it to Jim's sweat covered body and sprayed it over the unrelenting crowd. Dan deacon finished the night with some fancy prancing, wild dancing, brilliant story telling, and frantic dance music. This was a amazing to say the least. The next night landed us at Pehrspace To be continued.........(gotta get on the road)
