Okay, so we should have written this blog post a few weeks ago, but here it is now...when we were scheduling the premier of "Worth Dying For" with the Stratford Knight Chorale as the finale to their Spring Chorus Concert, we needed a bass player to join us to complete our band lineup and allow us to perform the song.

Having known Jason Tucker, and the guys from Virgil Kain (http://myspace.com/virgilkain) for a while, it seemed like a very obvious decision to ask Tucker to join us for the song, and thankfully, he agreed.

We never really planned on playing out over the summer, but after performing with us at Stratford, Tucker said he would love to learn some more of our songs and play out with us over the summer if we could line up some shows...so we started weekly rehearsals and we're playing out again over the summer!

Now to all the awesome Virgil Kain fans out there...don't worry, Tucker hasn't left Virgil Kain...he's just helping us out on the side over the summer...

So thanks to Tucker, who is an awesome musician, great friend, and now the bass player for The CarbonAudio Effect!

Come out to one of our shows and see us with our new band lineup and song!

Okay, so we are playing out again! And we are kicking off our shows for the summer @ The Pour House - Battle of the Bands...the winning band gets $1000 cash! So we need your help...we have to sell at least 25 $8.00 tickets...so help us out and buy a ticket from us and come out and rock with us on June 14th @ The Pour House! (The bands are playing from 3-10pm - we will have more details about our specific performance time ASAP)

Thanks as always for your support!

May 29, 2009 - Friday

Okay, so last night we made some history...a lot of "1st's" :) For one, last night was the first time my band, The CarbonAudio Effect had played out as a whole group in over a year...second, it was the first time I had played out with my band on guitar and also the first time Eileen had played with the band on keyboard and vocals...and actually the first time Eileen had ever played in any band on stage ever!

There's also the awesomeness of last night being the first time that a choral group from Stratford High School had ever performed with a rock band...and it's also the first time that a choral group has ever performed with a rock band in the Charleston, SC area! I'm guessing it probably has never been done before in the Lowcountry...at any rate, it was a monumental moment for me as a songwriter and for our band!

After a wonderful night of choral music from The Stratford Singers, The Men's Glee Club, The Stratford Knight Edition & then a few combined choir songs, which included a compilation of highlights from The Phantom of the Opera, all the choirs combined to sing "Homeward Bound" - with numerous solos and group sections performed by the graduating seniors from Stratford High School that were part of the choral program.

The 8 pieces that were performed prior to The CarbonAudio Effect taking the stage were fantastic, and really showcased the time, talent & dedication that all of the choral students, and their director, Joshua Radecke had given to the pursuit of musical knowledge and skill.

Above all though, throughout the entire concert, much more was communicated than mere notes and words on a page...the passion that each person on stage had for the art of music was so clearly evident as you listened to them and watched them as they performed.

After enjoying the incredible talent displayed throughout the evening, it was finally time to finish out the night by rocking out! My band, The CarbonAudio Effect took the stage as The Stratford Knight Chorale got a little more comfortable and casual with the guys loosening their bowties and taking off their tux jackets :)

I said a few words about the piece we were premiering, "Worth Dying For" - mainly talking about my going to the Marine Corps in October and how the inspiration came from that to write the song, which talks about having a purpose and a goal that is worth living for & worth dying for.

Then it was performance time...we hit the opening synth/drum loop on the computer and the choir began to sing...after making a few quick sound adjustments on the fly, we started rockin' out! The crowd was extremely responsive and people were clapping and a number of screams came from the audience...a few times I turned around to the wonderful choir singing behind me and was amazed at what was taking place at that moment...I mouthed "thank you" to the choir who were singing their hearts out...and then I turned around and started singing myself...

Towards the end of the song, all the instruments dropped out except for the drums, leaving only my vocals, Eileen's vocals and the sounds of the amazing Stratford Knight Chorale...the audience cheered as we sang our hearts out and then slammed back into one final chorus to end the song...

Words cannot describe what it felt like to be on a stage performing with SO MANY TALENTED PEOPLE...last night's performance will go down as one of my most memorable and favorite musical experiences of my entire life...

To everyone who helped make this possible, THANK YOU! I know I would inevitably forget someone if I tried to list all the names off the top of my head, so I won't try right now, but I will get all the names of everyone involved and edit this post once I have them...for now though, thank you to:

Joshua Radecke - Stratford Choral Director
Joe Swisher - Audio Equipment
The CarbonAudio Effect - Eileen DeLisle, Jesse Snider, Gary Turner (also special thanks to Jason Tucker, bass player for local rock band, Virgil Kain who was an absolute pleasure to work with!)
The Stratford Knight Chorale (all the names of the students who performed last night will be listed here)

If anyone has any pictures of last night's performance, or any video footage from last night, we would LOVE to have it! It's really easy to get it to us...go to http://box.net/chorus & click on the top right hand button "Join This Folder" - enter your email, a password & your name and you will be given access to view and upload files to the folder that everyone else can see...please pass this link on to anyone you know that has pictures or video from last night!

Well the album is coming together, and all the drum tracks are done! We are planning on having 11 different songs on the album, plus 2 extra tracks featuring special versions of one of our newest tracks, "Worth Dying For" - this track will be the first track released on our MySpace page prior to the full album release.

The stuff our drummer, Gary has done on the album is insane...it's going to blow your mind!

Keep checking back for the MySpace release of our track "Worth Dying For"

As always, thanks for your support!

Hey Fans & Friends!
Well we are finally back in the studio! And we're really excited about the quality of the record we're putting together...we can't wait to let you hear the new stuff we've written, as well as some of the re-tooling we've done to previous tracks. We are finally going to have a full-length album!!!

It's been great having Eileen as a part of the band, and we're excited to let you guys see and hear what she's come up with.

A lot of people have been asking when we are playing out next, and although we don't have any specific dates locked in yet, let's just say that we have some pretty big things planned for 2009! And of course, you guys will be the first to know about it!

Back to the full-length album...here's what it's starting to look like in the way of tracks (these are not in any specific order):

Taking Back
Let Me Go
Worth Dying For
Take Me Away
Run Away Home
Rive
Rescue Me
All In
Bring the Rain
Worth Dying For - Part II
Revolution
Is It Worth It?

*There may be one or two additional tracks...we're in the middle of working on a few...they might end up on the album...maybe not...lol...

At any rate, we're really excited about this new album, and the shows we will be playing to promote it...so check back soon to hear a couple of the new songs from the cd!

Thanks so much for your support throughout the last six months as we have gone through member changes and all that comes with that...we will be playing shows again very soon!!

You guys are made of awesome!

Don't worry...it wasn't an accident! We took off all of our previous tracks (except for "Taking Back") for a couple reasons...

1) We're excited about the new songs we're writing...

2) We're in the process of re-recording some of the former tracks (e.g., Take Me Away, Is It Worth It, Bring the Rain, Rive, Run Away Home, Revolution, Let Me Go) to reflect our current members, style & sound...

If you really want to listen to some of the older recordings, you can still get them by purchasing them from iTunes...there are links on our page...

We're super pumped about the new songs that we're cranking out...and the re-tooling we've been doing to some of our older tracks...so get ready for some awesome new stuff from The CarbonAudio Effect!

Thanks for your support,

Hey Fans & Friends!
Just wanted to update you on what the band is up to and let you in on some of the changes we're going through...which is why you haven't seen us playing a lot of shows recently...

First off, we're still looking for a bassist...so if you're a bassist, or you know someone who is that would be interested in joining TCAE, message us on MySpace or send an email to: info@thecarbonaudioeffect.com

We also wanted to send out our best wishes to Tyler Boone, who played guitar with us for over a year...we want to wish him the best in his future musical endeavors, and specifically in his new blues band, "Red House".

Here are the biggest changes though...I (Noel) am now playing guitar in addition to singing...and although I will still be playing a little keyboard/synth on our recordings, my wife, Eileen has now joined TCAE as our new keyboardist/vocalist...Jesse is still rockin' out on guitar, and Gary is still banging away at the drums and running our loops for us...but we're pretty pumped about the new changes and the new addition to The CarbonAudio Effect...still looking to finish out the group with a groovin' bassist, but we're already wicked stoked about where we are currently.

We were scheduled to play Oct 18 @ Rock the Streets, but with the addition of Eileen to the group, we're pushing our performance date back to Nov 1, giving her more time to get up to speed on the songs...once we add a bassist to the band, we will start hitting the studio to record our first full-length album, which will feature a number of brand-new songs, a few of which have yet to be performed live!

In the meantime, our last EP, "Rescue Me" & our single, "Revolution" are both on iTunes, so go to our MySpace page: http://myspace.com/thecarbonaudioeffect and click on either of the album art pictures - it will take you into the iTunes store where you can buy and download our music!

Thanks so much for your support over the last year and a half! We can't wait to rock out with you guys soon!
