Went to see the Jonneine Zapata band last night and ended up rubbing elbows (literally) with Eddie Van Halen. Pretty rad. Seemed like a nice guy. He's pretty small. I thought about kidnapping him, holding him hostage at our studio and forcing him to teach me how to play guitar. But, let's face it, you can't be taught to play like THAT. So, I let him go. :)

Also bumped into Duff McKagan, bassist for Guns and Roses. The REAL Guns and Roses. That's pretty cool in itself. So, it was like a 70's, 80's Rock Royalty night in Hollywood.

I think I'll watch the "Hot For Teacher" video...

Jeff came down to rescue the Cocaine mix or my sanity actually. I've NOT been feeling Pro Tools lately. All I wanna do is write and catch the new ideas in rough crappy demos so I don't forget them, I don't want to get bogged down in Pro Tools, staring at my computer for hours on end. So, I've had a love/mosty hate relationship with mixing our cover of "Cocaine". So, thankfully Jeff was into doing it, and he did a great job getting it shaped up a bit.

With all the work he's done on Jonneine Zapata's recordings and Angie Mattson's (not to mention his own) his skills are Sharp! Mine are um, dull. I just like coming up with the ideas. I want a full time engineer. I want our own Nigel Godrich to deal with this crap and let me just invent.

Also, my neighbor/friend came home with a puppy she found abandoned in South Central this morning. She was fucking adorable. We played with her for a while.

Playing with puppies = good.

The puppy has already found itself a home I'm happy to report. Which is good because I was going to put my entire life on hold just to adopt that lil fucker.

So, tired, but wanted to give a shout out and lots of love to the entire crew that worked so hard on our video today! Fucking amazing.

I can't wait for everyone to see this. But, I think we still have two more shooting days.

Doh!

Off to sleep.

Sweet dreams little angels.

Went to see our good friend Spark performing as Patient Zero. Very inspirational set, even included my favorite which I think is called "West of Main Street" (I suck at remembering song titles). I'd like him to play that at my funeral. So, if blogs on your bands' MySpace page can qualify as a living will, then here it is!

I then devoured half a bag of Uncle Eddie's Vegan Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter cookies and drifted off to sleep in the studio feeling fat and lonely.

"Strange things are afoot at the Circle K"

Sometimes I say things and my crazy ass bandmates go, "Okay, let's do it."

Today was one of those days.

Today I'm dressed like Johnny Cash.

My name is Will Love and I have a lot of love in my life.
I kind of wish my name was Will Cash.

Went shopping for some clothes for the "Fashion Kills" video we're shooting next week. Found an awesome jacket at a thrift store that was practically tailor made for me. That's exciting.

Tried to buy tickets to the White Rabbit show at the El Rey tonight, but it sold out the minute I was trying to buy them. Not too bummed because I was more curious than into it. They're on Radiohead's label. So, expect to hear a bunch about them in the coming months.

I made asparagus and garlic quinoa. Talk about some strong-smelling pee! Oy vey!

Geezus, this is one lame-ass blog post tonight.

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

Had a 2 hour rehearsal tonight. Immediately improvised something REALLY amazing based off of a sick drum thing Ry was doing. I ran into the control room to start recording it, came back and we never did it the same way again. Ugh.

Today is the day I learned that we need to always have the "tape" running. I've thought it so many times, but now, forever, hit record before you start playing.

Happy Halloween kiddies.

Today, I took a shower.

I ate some soup. Vegan Tomato Rice. Oh so nice.

Played piano. I can now do the thing that last week I could not do.

I'm growing tired of how sweet a Starbucks soy latte is and want desperately for Peet's to open far more coffee shops around the world.

I am going to play guitar now. Requests?

Just finished rehearsing for the first time two new songs I wrote while Jeff and Angie were touring with Jonneine Zapata's band, opening for Mark Lanegans' Soulsavers.

It required using some new instrumentation, lot's of gadgetry likely to break down at live shows and give me fucking fits. We SOOOOO need a tech at our live shows.

The two new songs are called "We Don't Like Summer" and "I Just Wanna Breathe". At least they are for now.

We're also working with a rad director on a brand spankin' new video and can't wait to get that up for you to see.

What else...um, did you guys see the video of a stray dog rescuing another stray dog that was hit by car? One dog gets hit and another runs over, grabs him WITH HIS PAWS, not his mouth, and drags him to safety. Then rescue workers show up and the hero dog runs away.

REALLY amazing, heart-warming stuff. A dog risking his life to save another.

That is until I read a comment below the video where someone theorized hero dog was dragging him off the freeway to eat him.

Hmm. I just don't know. Feel free to weigh in.

I'm eating cantaloupe and strawberries.
