..StartFragment --> Hey! We are excited (no, really EXCITED) to announce the release of our new album From the Bureau of Robotic Affairs. Join us this Friday as we celebrate! Frivolity lies below, but first the straight-story: 1) CD Release show THIS Friday 3/30 @ Local 506, Chapel Hill, NC - doors 8:00 - show - 9:00 Supporting acts (in order): Invasion, Senryu, Sleepsound NO COVER http://www.local506.com/ http://www.myspace.com/invasionmusic http://www.myspace.com/senryu http://www.myspace.com/sleepsound http://www.myspace.com/eyestospace 2) The album is for sale! Copies will of course be available at the show, or visit our store at solariumrecords.com - price at the show is $10, price online adds $2 for shipping and handling. Chapel Hill record stores will have the album in stock next week. 3) The evening of the show, at around 6pm, Eyes to Space will play a few songs and discuss the album on Raleigh station WKNC 88.1 at the pleasure of DJ Stevo. Tune in. 4) There will be an after-party following the show. Details will be emailed to this listserv later this week. 5) eyestospace.com has changed somewhat. Check it out! 6) More info, written in the style of a 6th grader's essay: Jay Cartwright Eyes to Space March 30, 2007 Why You Should Go to the Eyes to Space Show In the world today, a common phenomenon is the releasing of albums. Webster's dictionary defines an album as a collection of songs on a compact disc. There are many reasons you should go to the Eyes to Space release show Friday March 30 at the Local 506 in Chapel Hill, NC. These include that the opening acts are good, that Eyes to Space is good, and that the show is free. You should go to the Eyes to Space release show. First of all, the opening acts are of a good quality. The first one is a band called Invasion. It consists of two guitar players and a drummer and they have a lot of chops. The leader of the band is Joe and he is an old friend of Eyes to Space. The next band is called Senryu and they come from Knoxville, which is a city in Tennessee. Because they are not from Chapel Hill, this means that Senryu is an "out of town band." The next opening band is called Sleepsound. The drummers of Sleepsound and Eyes to Space both work in the same building in Chapel Hill. Sleepsound play keyboard pop. As you can see, all of these bands that are playing before Eyes to Space are good and so you should go to the show. Secondly, Eyes to Space is playing a set that you will enjoy listening to and seeing. It contains music by all the members, including half the album, four new songs, and some other songs. You might like the cover song that Eyes to Space will play. A cover song is a song that is not written by the band that is playing it. The Eyes to Space set will be good. The last reason you should go to the show is that it will not cost you anything. Most shows cost around five dollars or maybe eight if the band is especially greedy. If you go to the show, since you will not have to pay to get in, you can spend more money at the bar getting drunk. Drunkeness is a state of pleasure induced by alcohol that leads people to forget other things and just have a good time listening to a band. Getting things for free is better than paying for them. For all of these reasons, you can see that it is a good idea to go to the Eyes to Space show. The benefits just outweigh the risks. The benefits are the other bands, the Eyes to Space set, and the price. People would be wise to attend and may excessively regret not attending. We hope to see you Friday! -Jay & Eyes to Space

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us on our tour. Thank you especially to those who played with, friends we reconnected with, and those who offered their floors for our backs.
So many bands we played with were amazing. But for my money (and my money alone), can I burden you with my non-celebrity endorsements of:
Howard's Dilemma (a one-man character-based theatrical show), Goodnight or Sleep (just really interesting songs, presented interestingly, I can't stop listening to their cd), Los Aardvarks (high-energy pop with enough weirdness so as to delight), Spymachine 16 (big band of lots of people and two dancers and lots of screamy singing in unison hot stuff!), Fun 100 (the only other band we've played with where the frontman ALSO has a homemade keytar - all the way from the west coast of Canada), Laura Barrett (she plays solo kalimba and bass with her feet, songs about robot ponies need I say more?), Habitat (boy/girl harmonies, good songs, tres nice), Ice Cream Socials (kicking Buffalo's rear end with keyboards and craziness), Rahu-Ketu (I have no idea what to say about this very idiosyncratic band except mellow, weird, compelling, go listen to them), Skeletonbreath (the tighest band doing hard stuff I have ever seen live - the bassist blew my brains out. they play gypsy-scary-funky avant-garde instrumentals with bass, electric violin and drums), Red Rocket (from Philadelphia, also with the weirdness and the angularity I have come to associate with Philadelphia) and so many many others. Truly, there are some great bands out there and go myspace-friend them. and listen!
and special thanks to Wilkesboro, NC for bestowing us with Best Instrumentalists at the Battle of the Bands on the last night of tour, and for almost, almost making us win the damn money! Holy crap, Wilkes county, we never knew you'd appreciate the robot-geekdom so fully. We met up with the best group of teenagers there, and watch out, we may just play their "alternate nerd prom" next year. yowza!
thanks again, and wish I could adequately thank everyone more so.
loves,
Wendy & Eyes to Space

What is the Don-rock?
www.myspace.com/dondeleaumont
Here's a poem Don wrote about Eyes to Space.
"There's a band called Eyes To Space. I heard LIVE, they'll rip off yoru face. They're cooler than robots. Not those lame GoBots And they travel from place."
For those seeking the singer-songwriter thing around Chapel Hill, look no further than the Don-rock. In Don's own words, "Get folked up with Don." That's not a suggestion. It's an order.

Mindf**k Mouse and Cosmic Cat got a new job collaborating on a paper route. The newspaper agreed to pay them an inifinite salary, in the form of infinite pennies, paid ten at time every second for infinite seconds. Mindf**k Mouse and Cosmic Cat discussed how to divide the money, and MindF**k Mouse proposed an agreement. First of all, to keep track of the money, as each penny came in, he would label it with sequential numbers. For example, when they received the first ten pennies, he would label the first with a 1, the second with a 2, and so on. The next second, when the next ten pennies came in, those would be labeled 11 through 20. To help them divide their shares, Mindf**k Mouse obtained two jars, each capable of obtaining an infinite number of pennies, and drew up a contract for Cosmic Cat to sign agreeing to the following:
1) After the first second, Mindf**k Mouse would put all ten pennies in Cosmic Cat's jar, but take out the penny labeled 1 and put it in his own jar.
2) After the second second, Mindf**k Mouse would put the new payment of ten pennies into Cosmic Cat's jar, but remove the penny labeled 2.
3) This would continue the third second, with the next ten pennies into Cosmic Cat's jar, but Mindf**k Mouse removing penny 3 for his own jar.
4) And all subsequent payments would continue in this same pattern, every second, for their infinite employment.
And Cosmic Cat laughed a nasal cat-like laugh and eagerly signed his name to the contract. To him, it looked like an obvious 9 to 1 split in his favor, and he thought he'd finally gotten the best of Mindf**k Mouse.
And so they began their job, and helped one another distribute newspapers to every house in town, and were accordingly paid their infinite pennies, ten at the time, for infinite seconds.
But Cosmic Cat soon realized he'd been duped, because for every second that passed, a penny was removed from his jar, and since the number of pennies and the number of seconds were equal, as time approached infinity, his jar remained EMPTY! Once again Mindf**k Mouse had f**ked his mind!

Mindf**k Mouse was tired of being chased by Cosmic Cat, so he went to the Grand Hotel to hire a guest to slaughter him. The Grand Hotel is a special hotel because it's filled with infinite rooms, caters to an infinite clientele and is always filled to capacity. Mindf**k Mouse has an infinite amount of money he can use to pay an assassin to do the dirty deed - and he wants Cosmic Cat to be dead within the hour. He tells the first guest that if Cosmic Cat is not dead within the next hour, to kill Cosmic Cat. He tells the next guest that if Cosmic Cat is not dead within the next 1/2 hour, to kill Cosmic Cat. He tells the next guest that if Cosmic Cat is not dead within the next1/4 hour, to kill Cosmic Cat. He tells the next guest that if Cosmic Cat is not dead within the next1/8 hour, to kill Cosmic Cat. He tells the next guest that if Cosmic Cat is not dead within the next1/16 hour, to kill Cosmic Cat. And so on! An hour later, Cosmic Cat's owner discovered her pet dead, smothered with a towel from the Grand Hotel. She runs down to the hotel, presents the towel, and asks the first guest if he is responsible. He says no, he couldn't have because the next guest was ordered to kill him sooner. She asks the next guest. He says no, he couldn't have because the next guest was ordered to kill him sooner. She asks the next guest. He says no, he couldn't have because the next guest was ordered to kill him sooner. She asks the next guest. He says no, he couldn't have because the next guest was ordered to kill him sooner. She asks the next guest. He says no, he couldn't have because the next guest was ordered to kill him sooner. And even though she was willing to devote infinite time to finding the culprit IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. For Mindf**k Mouse had f**ked her mind with his SUPERIOR KNOWLEDGE OF INFINITY!

Thanks to everyone in every town who has come out to hear us – we love our Triangle fans, as well as new fans in some new towns we’ve played the last few months: Columbia, Wilmington, Charlotte, Richmond. This January alone, we’re playing in Durham, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Greensboro…and possibly Asheville and Raleigh, too. And Nashvillians – mark your calendars now for a killer March 4 show, where we’ll share the bill with ex-Eyes to Space member Zack Gresham’s band The Umbrella Tree! See the shows page for full details…
Yes, our long-gestating album is in its last trimester – we’re hoping to get a label to release it in 2006. If you’re affiliated with a label or know of a label who might be interested, send us an email: eyestospace@yahoo.com.
We were recently selected by sonicbids.com to be a spotlighted artist (www.sonicbids.com). Some 50,000+ artists have electronic press kits on sonicbids, and ours was chosen!
And since no respectable potential candidate in any kind of voting-type-election-thingy is below groveling, might we suggest you nominate Eyes to Space for an indy music award? Visit www.indyweekblogs.com/scan and click on the link for the nomination form. Deadline for nominations is January 25 – show your love for robotic freakshow music by getting us on the ballot!
And as always, we’d love to hear from you – shoot us an email at eyestospace@yahoo.com, and come and talk to us after shows. Your dance moves and kind words are what we live for.

1) The planet's most powerful empire naturally tends to flaunt its dominance. 2) Our civilization satisfies this urge by conquering other countries, leeching off their economies, raping their natural resources and enslaving their labor forces. 3) In order to end this oppression, this paternal instinct must be redirected to the exploration of space. 4) Eyes to Space seeks to convince everyone of this. 5) The best thing you can do to help the Third World is to buy an Eyes to Space T-shirt. 6) They come in S, M, L and XL 7) While you're at it, pick up a pair of Eyes to Space binoculars for $2. The children need you. 8) In every one dollar bill, the federal government imbeds a tiny camera in George Washington's right nostril. 9) They are watching. 10) Rid yourself of these dollars. 11) Give them to us. 12) Give us four and we'll exchange an EP. --End Transmission
