It was an emotional experience for me to win the honour of Danish World Music Track of 2007 – and, as I said at the prize-giving ceremony at Copenhagen Jazzhouse last Thursday, it isn't I alone who deserves the praise. To a large extent, Mozambique and its culture has won this prize. We are very thankful for the attention and recognition we receive from Denmark.
Many thanks!
I would also like to personally thank Denmark and the Danish musicians who have contributed and inspired me with their creativity. I have learnt a lot from working in Denmark. Denmark is a good place for creativity.
I hope to bring these experiences back to Mozambique – in part through my work with
Artists Take Action and in part through my plans to create 'Danish Week of Creativity' next year in Mozambique.
