October 18, 2009 - Sunday
Bill Manx will be playing at Milltown in Carrboro on Sunday October 18th at 7pm with John Harrison and Sara Bell.  It's a solo acoustic set and there's a good chance many Manx songs will be played, much of those being songs that don't usually make it into our live sets.  So, come on out.
September 25, 2009 - Friday
A few weeks ago we recorded a new song for a compilation called "Hear Here," a beautiful cross-section of music from Triangle bands.  You can find the tracklist at this site and see the talented line up for yourself.

Here's a review of the comp:

It is out now and is on sale on consignment at local record stores.  Pick it up!  We are also about to go back to the library of 4 track recordings to convert them to digital because a)we don't want rotting tape to screw us over and b)it will give us a ton of bonus material so we can throw content all over the place.  It will be fun revisiting that stuff.  Maybe a couple of the songs will be good enough full-on finish.  Hopefully we'll get that comp track on here so those who can't find the disc can still hear it.

I'll leave you with this...   for those of you writing screenplays out there, you need lines that stack up to these or you've got to raise your game.

August 12, 2009 - Wednesday
'Holla!' is a stupid and annoying thing to hear someone say.  No one sounds cool when they say it.

Anyway, I know I have been total shite about updating the blog here and for that I apologize.  Life can get busy.  Right now we are hard at work doing some writing for the next Manx record and hopefully some decent demos will get done soon.  There are tons of new songs to work on so we will definitely be busy in the coming months.  The goal is not to have another 3 or 4 year layoff from putting out a record.  :)

We had a jam session a couple weeks ago with Andrew (Home), Matt (Dean and Britta) and Danny Magic.  It was quite fun.  We recorded it by throwing up two mics in the room so I spent last night trying to mix and EQ that stuff a bit.  Next it gets sent to Andrew to sauce it up a bit and throw down vocals and whatever else he feels like.

Thanks for tuning in.  HOLLA!  Still stupid.

July 16, 2009 - Thursday
We are playing this weekend at the Cat's Cradle on Sunday with two wonderful bands, Lost in the Trees and Hammer No More the Fingers.  Come on out, should be a hoot.

On a side note, the fact that the all-star game decides home field in the World Series is beyond stupid.

Here's the video for Well Whatever on youtube:

Hello all.

We finished up a new song in the studio last night to be released on a benefit compilation in the near future.  It was a lot of fun to do and it's definitely the most upbeat song we've recorded.  And (gasp!) I used a distortion pedal!  When we get more details like a tracklist and release dates and such I will pass them along.  Once we have a mixed and mastered version I'll be sure to load it up on here.

June 29, 2009 - Monday
We are heading back to the studio for a day or two next week to record a song for a compilation.  Warning:  this song will contain power chords.  Beware.  More info to come.  PS... I have one week to write the lyrics for it.
May 31, 2009 - Sunday
Just a heads-up that our record is now available on itunes and with our hard copy distro picking up as well it shouldn't be hard at all to find the record.  So buy it already!

We had a blast playing those east coast shows and we are already looking forward to playing more soon.  Booking for shows in the fall is already underway and it's very likely we'll be at cmj as well.

May 27, 2009 - Wednesday
Thanks to everyone who came out to a show last week!  We really enjoyed being back out on the road and seeing people at shows that we don't know for a change.  We are in the process of booking more shows especially in our region so we are hoping to hit Charlotte, Atlanta, etc over the next few months.

Here's a link to the new video for "Well, Whatever" directed by Matt Hedt.  (Thanks, Matt!)

We'll get it up on our profile here soon.
May 10, 2009 - Sunday

First and foremost, we want to report that we've added a second distributor for the record.  So anyone who's walked away from their local record store looking for the CD/Vinyl but couldn't find it will hopefully have this situation remedied.

It also looks like the disc is up at eMusic now as well.  All the online digital companies have different review processes so I expect the others like iTunes, Rhapsody, and the like to follow very soon.

Our latest record has received some good press so far.  You can't please everyone, of course, but we are happy that people seem to be digging it.  Here's a sampling of some of the reviews...
