And we've also got one new book review:

Don't forget about the three new galleries we've added to the members' area recently. There's the Queensryche and UFO galleries mentioned above (with over 100 pics in each) and a new RIk Emmett gallery with more than those two.   Members can use the box on the main page (musicstreetjournal.com) to log in and check all the great stuff out. If you haven't got a membership yet just use the "click to register" link - right next to it - to get your membership. They start at six bucks (a month) and you can get a full year for just $25. Check out the video on the main page of the site (musicstreetjournal.com) to get an idea of the kinds of things you get in the members' area - but remember there's a lot more been added since that video was made.

Well, that pretty well rounds out the content for this issue, but don't forget you can play along at home.  Just go to our Amazon.com store at http://astore.amazon.com/musicstreetjourn and scroll down on the left to current issue. There you can order the CD’s and DVD’s in the issue. You'll also notice another section where you can download music (these are legal downloads) for many of the items. As the CD reviews, this section is organized by genre. And, if you are so inclined you can buy the stuff from there – and listen along while you see what we had to say about the music.

Finally - no matter what holiday you celebrate (if you don't celebrate any, why not pick one - or make one up - why miss out on the fun) here's hoping your holiday season is joyful. We'll see you in a couple months with another new issue.
Friday, November 27, 2009

Hey everyone - the new issue will be live at some point tomorrow - so don't forget to get over to musicstreetjournal.com and check out all the articles you want in the current issue before then.....

If you'd like a look at some of what we'll have for the next issue go to our Amazon.com store at http://astore.amazon.com/musicstreetjourn and scroll down on the left to next issue. There you can get a look at the CD's that we'll be doing (categorized by progressive rock, metal and other) and the DVD's will be reviewing. You'll also notice another section where you can download music (these are legal downloads) for some of the items we'll be reviewing. As the CD reviews, this section is organized by genre. And, if you are so inclined you can buy the stuff from there. Mind you, there are some items we've reviewed that Amazon doesn't carry, but this will give you a good idea about what's going to be in the issue.

For more information about what's in our members area check out the video on the main page at musicstreetjournal.com or on this profile, but remember we've added a ..LOT.. of stuff since then.

For those with a membership just use the log in box on that main page to check out all the great stuff. If you need a membership you can get one by using the "click to register" link right next to the log in box.

If you are in a band - or have a label with multiple bands there are a lot of things Music Street Journal can do for you.

First you can run your release past our writers and see about getting a review. Email me at musicstreetjournal@musicstreetjournal.com and include a link where your sound can be sampled - that way I can pass it on to our writers and see if anyone wants a review copy.

Secondly, you can get a banner ad - they are sixty five bucks a year and get you a slot in rotation on just about every page of the site. That also includes a membership to the site. You can buy a sponsorship. There are a few levels for this, but sponsorships include a combination of banner ads and memberships (give the extras away, auction them off or do whatever you like with them) for a discounted price over buying them individually Again, drop me an email for more information. You can also buy a banner ad for a non-music product.

Do you want your gig dates and press releases listed on the site? Well, there's a couple ways you can do that. First, if you provide material for our members area (audio or video for them to check out) you'll get a log in where you can post that stuff yourself. If you buy a sponsorship all you have to do is email the information to me and I'll post it for you.

Also, I've started my own PR company. Over the years I've done PR work for bands and labels when asked, but now I've decided to do it on a more full-time basis. If you'd like to get some help with your pr you can email me at pr@musicstreetjournal.com to get the ball rolling. You can also check me out on myspace at myspace.com/garyhillpr. Be sure to read the blogs I've been posting for some tips and information about how PR should work. If you decide to add the profile understand this – I'm only accepting add requests from clients or potential clients, publications that would be interested in running articles about my clients and venues. So, if you don't fit into one of those categories, then I'll deny your request. Check the general information on the profile for information on the right way to do an add friend. And if you get denied don't take it personally. I do bookings there, too.

Well, that's all for now, but expect more frequent blog postings in the near future with more information - next up - what's Music Street Journal got to offer music fans?
