We knew this would happen... and it is. The reviews on Stormcrow are nothing but stellar. Are yous till going to sleep on this album? Pick it up!!!!
I admit that the presentation of the group, with respect speaking, is one of never the most invasate read, between proclamoni and worthy car-celebrations of the new champions of black italico nearly nearly who listen to the demo hope that the demo make to cagare for being able to punish cotanta esagerazione but the satisfied and endured honesty I say to you that this is truly a good ones demo.
Wounded Skies is a demo of brutal, malvagio and very made death-black metal from classic thematic the antichristian ones.
After the intro it leave opener the Dark Promises, and is, effectively, endured slaughter where blast-beat they are melted to riffing a much articulate one, bellicose, but at the same time melodico, with some reminiscenza thrash, Wounded Skies, it remembers us of the healthy one death-black, very articolato.con a slowed down interval more.
In Anthems from. ours insert also an acoustic interval many gradevole that create inside a little variety of the economy of the demo, otherwise a lot pulled.
The production is truly good, very calibrated but not excessive cleaned up.
The artwork very it is cured with all the relati to you witnesses.
Wounded Skies is truly a album very made, tendentially fast but with solutions that they avoid excessive tired, the riffing very it is cured, clearly and never left the case.
E' just this the one which appeals to of this demo the cure to me of the riffing and the infernal atmosphere but of class.
It is sure a product that the lovers of black the much fast one must listen, I assure to you that the group truly cracks and deserves your listens.then to being the flame holders of the black metal Italian it is little too much but what you want to make the black us metal is made therefore.and this is its imagined fascination you the Laura Pausini that swearing in its bio, proclama the salvation of Italian music?

To be honest with you all, I don't even know how this album found its way to my placeI never contacted Dwell Records and surely I didn't contact the band; so this EP came out of nowhere but to tell you the truth, I'm glad it did. Stormcrow is actually an interesting Black Metal band with a good scheme; let me talk a little more about this.
I'm really picky when it comes to this genre; when Black Metal sounds as raw as a wounded cow I hate it for being irrelevant and monotonous, and when Black Metal becomes melodic and pompous I hate it for being extremely gay. Fortunately Stormcrow manages to create a mixture of both divisions, they present aggressive chords with harmonious riffs and astounding music overall.
This is actually their first EP if I'm not mistaken; they have released only a couple of demos but we get this kind quality in their music? This is more than impressive indeed; I know bands with more than 4 full-lengths wrapped in shitty execution for crying out loud. The grim intro sets the general mood of the whole record by presenting chilling sounds and a shivering atmosphere; when the music begins everything detonates stridently with hostile riffing, scary vocalizations and fast as hell drumming. The whole album captures the same essence of this track actually, the band adds a couple of layers here and there but the music never loses its pace at all (Except in the last track which is a total masterpiece!).
Less than 20 minutes were enough for me to like this band; they have flaws of course, after all this is their debut EP, but if they keep growing, adding versatility and polishing their sound, they'll become a GREAT Black Metal band for sure. I highly recommend this record to everyone into the genre; you'll get an amazing layout with castles and a bunch of black-and-white guys, great music and archetypical satanic lyrics, what else could you ask for?

Corpse paint, spikes, hatred and Satan.. Is that what Black Metal has become today? For the most part I'm going to go with a resounding yes. In some cases this is a good thing, on the other hand it's horrible. The newest band on Dwell Records roster, Stormcrow falls somewhere in the middle. On the band's debut EP, Wounded Skies, they have all of the aforementioned things.
More often than not, the hatred and angst Stormcrow spews on this debut takes precedence over everything else. The five songs on the EP only measure up to about eighteen minutes. While the songs are very good, it comes across so brutal and hurried that you barely have time to take it all in. If this is what the band was going for, great, but somewhere in the mix and the arrangements of the songs, a little of the substance got left out. The music is great, don't get me wrong, but the only way to get into it and follow along is to turn it up wide-assed open and go crazy. This isn't completely out of the question to do, but somewhere along the line there has to be a conscious effort to make an impact on the listener.
The tune "Anathems From Our Martyr's Graveland" is the only track that makes a lasting impression on me. However the strength and muscle of "Dark Promises (are always kept by satan)" and the title track "Wounded Skies" also leave a mark, regardless of whether it's bloody or not. I'm thinking a full length will better suit the band and further their fan-base and career. One thing is certain, Stormcrow ain't here to paint pretty pictures and kiss the babies, they're here to assault and maim! If you're into 1349, Dark Funeral or Marduk then Stormcrow is just what Satan ordered.
