Current mood:  anxious

My goodness there are a lot of updates to report. This coming Thursday we are packing up the Joan-Mobile to perform in 3 Oaks Michigan at the lovely Acorn Theater and it promises to be a fun evening. Today we were in the studio recording all day and poor Aaron and Taylor played for hours while Jennifer , Ed and myself sang along when needed. This recording process is damn hard work, but long overdue. We have to lay down tracks for Mad At The Dirt to shoot the video we are planning. One before the other.

The other big news is that yes, The Joans will be performing at the 25th anniversary of the Folsom Street Fair, Sept. 28. It's finally official and we are thrilled to finally play in beautiful San Francisco amongst an audience that is tailor made for us. Bless you all!

Do you have an aversion to wire hangers?
Do you inexplicably shout 'Barbara PLEASE!, PLEASE Barbara!'.
Do you know where to find the boys, AND the booze?
Do you think most people are UNDERREACTING?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions then you have to attend the special Mommie Dearest Mother's Day screening at the Music Box Theater and participate in the mass Joan catharses. Imagine sitting in a room where people don't look at you funny when you bellow, 'When you polish the floor, you have to move the TREE!' This isn't just a clip- it's the whole damn movie and you'll be surrounded by other Joan freaks just like you. Hell, it may not be true- but it sure is funny.

Well darlings, we are finally going to lay down some tracks for a CD or downloading for the masses. Our good friend Jinx Titanic has given some wonderful contacts and Peter Mavrik is helping us put together a suitable press kit so we can get some gigs outside of lovely Chicago. If you know a place The Joans are needed by all means tell us!

Well, our gig in Three Oaks, MI at the Acorn Theater was a sheer delight. Our hosts Kim and David were delightful and we are now honorary lesbians. Our resoultion is to go in to the recording studio at the begininng of this year and lay down some tracks. We've been saving our gig money and selling t-shirts. The film offers have been sparse. We had to let Helga go...

We also want to produce a decent video. Any requests? We're thinking Mad at the Dirt, since it's the audience fave...

Davy Joans resolution is to quit smoking this year.Carol Ann plans on maintaining her new svelte figure (she's lost almost 40 lbs.), and Jennifer Joans is going to try to be nice.  Whats your resolution this year?

Darling, there is a lovely little write up in the South Bend Tribune about our appearance at The Acorn Theater in Three Oaks, MI tonight for New Years Eve. Carol Ann will be sending that lovely reporter a box of her 'special' cookies.

Here's the article.

Have a safe and Happy New Year-

Bless you- The Joans
