Long time in the works, we're finally happy to introduce MISF*TSOUNDS, our record label focusing on upcoming and fresh artists and bands from Finland. First in the series is the 7" single "The Colours" by Zebra and Snake, a duo who just might be the hottest Finnish indie/electro export after Le Corps Mince de Françoise. Combining the dark synth tones of The Knife with the artsy touch of bands like Talking Heads and Joy Division, they surely have a unique sound of their own. The single is backed up with our first own remix, co-produced with Kutikula. The 7" hits the shops on 27th Nov and is out digitally on 23rd Nov with Hannulelauri and Ka So Re remixes as well.

MISF*TS PRESENTS YOUNG GUNS

Starting 20th August and roughly on a monthly basis, MISF*TS will showcase some of the very latest in new DJ talent emerging in Helsinki. Young Guns is the name, and the freshest upcoming indie/electro DJs is the game!

First up is Emperatron, a four-piece group described as "Helsinki's youngest DJ collective, still all in their teens. They play full-on party style mixing bassline, electro, jackin', fidget, tech, B-more, dancehall, tropical and dubstep. The new-rave generation!"

One of France's foremost electronic musicians, Joakim Bouaziz has worked on everything from post-rock, disco and electronics to ambient. His third album "Monsters and silly songs" [2007] provided the indie-tinged dance hits "I Wish You Were Gone" and "Lonely Hearts". Aside his own music, dj/live gigs and running the Tigersushi label from Paris, Joakim is one of the most innovative remixers of today. Recent examples include The Chap's "Ethnic Instrument" and DJ Mehdi's "Pocket Piano", as well as work for the likes of Tiga, Air, Annie, Cut Copy and making Antena's "Camino del Sol" a big hit a couple years ago. In October Joakim's remix work was compiled on the album "My Best Remixes".
