Meet shakeshakerecords newest signings, Monkey Fighters. Debut digitally released on Monday 15th December 2008....everywhere!

Monkey Fighters: Queens of the Stone Age meets Muse meets Soundgarden nods politely to dEUS shakes hands with Stevie Wonder punches Barry Manilow in the snoot. 

Monkey Fighters are based in Bristol and combine fat keyboards, darkly riffing guitars and powerful vocals with songs about diamond heists, menacing monks and women in barrels.  Leader of this simian pugilist collective is a long shadow known as Jon Penny, delivering the Monkey Fighter Manifesto via guitar and voice.  Stu Waller provides sweeping low-level sonic attacks on bass, while Ian Bostic practices assault and battery on a vast array of drums and cymbals.  Together with a nebulous figure known only as "The Keyboard Player", the irresistible force of Monkey Fighters sallies forth to offer a glimmer of hope: When you need aid; when you're in trouble and afraid; when fear walks tall – you know you've only got to call…
