Well what can I say, we go the set down! 13 songs, including a really good acoustic song. I contacted diskmakers and its going to be one week and we will have CD's!

I will let all of you know when the cd comes out. The band is experiencing technology at its worst, we are loosing this battle to the large record labels.

We are fighting to break out of this mess, get radio play and on store shelves. Of course we need a miracle!

Pray that the marketing goes well and we can break into the US.

Its a down month for the band guys...

We are rehearsing stronger than ever before but the show is taking a slow time to come together. We are lucky to have maroon 5's light guy which is totally cool, our light show is going to amaze you. Green bubbles and green smoke.....cool.

What we are dealing with is the problem of using game images for our video's. We not only want a good light show, but also images of the games on a HD screen while we play the songs. Easy enough, but Integrity Ward will not give us permission to use images from Call of Duty, which is a total kick in the teeth. What more will happen to us!!!!

All we want to do is just sing about games. why is this a problem? Thanks to you, it does not matter what any of the big gaming firms think about us and or what M$ thin ks about us, you have made us the #2 MOST DOWNLOADED BAND ON MYSPACE!!!!!

THANK YOU.....

Look for shows coming soon, very soon......

Happy Birthday to me!

yes, Its P-Box birthday today and yes, I am totally not digging it. 40 is coming. Thats way to old to play video games and sing.....right?  NOT!!!!!!!!

UPDATE:

We went and shelled out around 20K for music equipment, drums, amps, guitars, etc.... We got the sweetest green drum kit you can imagine. Its the bomb DM kit. Dave got a new 5 string Fender bass that rocks. We purchased it in Nashville. he goes through a Goliath bass cab and it pounds hard.

I got a new Les Paul. Well, its old, its actually an 84 but its bomb. Pushing through a MESA Boogie cab, sounds great!

So we are rehearsing this month still, revamping the website and myspace pages, and putting together a set list of songs.... We are going to do some small shows just to work out the bugs before we blow out some arena's.

Bryan is really becoming a good guitarists and writer. I hear him in the studio and I could listen to this kid for hours. 18 and he is beyond his years.

Anyway, gotta go.....enjoy the new tunes, and pray we get our CD on shelves.

march and rain, March and rain.

Seattle is rainy, and yes its wet, but I pray that the summer will be green and clean and HOT!!!!

We got all of our songs ready, and now we are trying to get the artwork done for our first album. I have hired Scott at www.ssmedia.com to knock it out for us. Sometimes it's better just to step away and let someone else who is a big gamer, figure out what will be best.

The album is done, now the boys are concentrating on getting the CD artwork completed, and most importantly, getting it into stores. Will game stop carry it? Will Walmart carry it?

I need to totally get someone on board to take care of the distribution of this CD.

HELP!!!!

In the meantime, we are rehearsing each song over and over again. We practice each song 10 times each. Over and over again, trying to make it sound exactly like the album.

Take care,

Yo YO and YOO!

We are huddled in Robert Lang Studios writing a song about some chick in CONAN, AGAIN! Everyone thinks I am nuts, but I am in love with the damn game. I love the game. Its cool using the sword and maybe I am just too old school. I do play call of duty WAW allot, and am even #2 on Zombies, but lets be honest, its conan when I am totally bored.

Anyway, I think we came up with a good jam. Its hard, rock, and a good melody. It took us 7 days to write this thing, and another 7 to track it. Its by far the most expensive song I ever produced.

Joseph and I banged it out, and you can hear Joseph sing on it.

On the other front you all know we changed our name to the "ex" box boys to avoid any litigation with mother Microsoft, who btw has not done ONE THING to help us.

Spike TV on the other hand used "calling you up" as a single on their documentary "Gaming Gods" due out on G4 TV soon, so that is totally cool.

So I have posted HARD. I hope you guys dig it!

GAMING RULES!

January has come and I want to thank everyone in cyberspace for making us #2 on Myspace for about three whole days! We have finished almost all of our songs accept for one more about Conan. I want this to be the HARDEST song we have ever done, once that's done, then its off to Mastering.

Since Ive spent way to much money already, whats wrong with spending another 10K on mastering at Gateway in Maine???

So hopefully we will be able to get a distributor to place the cd on shelves for us, but for that were going to have to wait and be patient. The band is broke, but we are hungry, and sometimes that is all you need.

I know its gay to write about xbox games, especially when Xbox kicked us in the teeth, but you know what? You only go around once, and were going for it.

Merry Christmas everyone! It's awesome! Seattle had almost 2 feet of snow and I finally get to put my truck in 4X4!

Well, our album is done. We got 11 songs total. I will put Getting close to you (Conan) up at our main site www.thexboxboys.com.  Now I gotta get the album artwork all done, and get this into stores at gamestop. I am so excited. Finally, Chronicles of the Orb is done.

We are getting emails as far away as Japan wanting us to do shows so I think ill book some small little bar somewhere so that we can warm up and go through all of the songs. Call it a rehearsal or something.

I think the perfect place is Haleys Bar and Grill in Everett. It seats 250 and its just small enough to get personal and blow that place out. I will put tics for sale up online somewhere soon enough.

I hope that someone from Xbox comes, but we are not worried about that. Now its about the music.

UPDATE DEC 23RD

Our show is now booked and ticks are on sale. Haleys bar and grill in Everett. Our first concert, we are pumped! I went and got beat some new drums today and they look great. Light green and they sparkle. Pig drums!

Please pray for us that the show is a good one....Ill update.

I am sitting at Robert Lang studios while Paul, the manager is doing a food run for us writing this blog.

We all came to the studio, set up the drums, and when I started to track my new song there was just no magic in it at all. I could not get anyone into it, and the depression started, and then the siting around, etc...

I caved in about five hours ago and Justin our producer came up with the bright Idea to write a really GOOD song about Conan. He wanted us to write it on the spot so he had Joseph go in and track a drum track of him just playing and he is editing it together. He wants us to start from the drum track only a build a song around it. I have never done it this way, but this is from Dave Mathew's and Death Cab's producer/engineer so hey, Im down.

As it sits right now, the drums are edited and all that we have is a long drum track. I said that if we are going to do a song about Conan, its got to have timpony's in it. I listened to the tracks off the Conan soundtrack and they are all full of big orchestra drums. It just so happens Robert Lang's has two old ones in the basement and he pulled it out. Joseph tuned them up and now, without any melody of any kind, he is tracking over the verse and the chorus, just to the drums....is this gonna work?

Be back.......60 mins....

Ok, Im back and guess what! Joseph slammed some major drums down using the large big orchestra style drums and between his drums, and the orchestra ones, we have a really good beat. Dave is in the chamber at the moment tracking bass. Justin just told him to come up with a melody line over the drums. Now you gotta remember that we have never done this, this way. All Dave has to go on is the drums, there is no melody, so he is making one from scratch. Justin says it creates creativity and I think he is right. Now the mood is awesome and everyone is excited. B-Box is chomping at the bit to track guitar, and I am sitting here imagining what it would be like to be Conana, as he saves a hottie from destruction...... What is he thinking? What does he say to her? Does he want her?

brb.....

Ok, here is what I came up with.....

Your kinda getting me high off your breath, it makes me wanna stay, wanna stay for the summer....If every weekend was like this I might never go home, never go home....Your like a magnet baby, and it makes me wanna stay, wanna stay for the summer...

Im blacking out on everything else, and nothing looks better on you than myself...

CHORUS

Now you make me forget where I am and I can't stop, getting close to you wherever you are, and I hope it never, never, ever, stops ahhhhh.

That's exactly what this song is really. Its a relationship between Conan and this chick. It maybe only lasts a few seconds, but those seconds is what I want to write about...

Its 3am and we managed to get drums, and bass. Tomorrow sound effests, piano, pads, and then Bryan can go nuts on it. I hope I can squeeze my lyrics in there...

Its Christmas time next week, two more songs Lord, please....Can we do it?

Ill post this song on mysapce as soon as its' done.

Well I must be dreaming.....were getting hella loads on myspace. Wow. Now what? What does this mean?

I met with Joseph today and he wrote a sweet song and it's a heart thumper. Its beautiful and I want to record it. I have tried and tried to make something happen for us and I am so grateful to the fans for downloading us. Its really cool.

I promise to finish this album in the next two months, I swear that by Christmas time it will be done, done, done....We can then do a show somewhere, if anyone would come...

I still have made the decision NOT to release any of our music anymore for purchase until after 2009. I want to get the whole album done first, and we need three more songs. What do we write them about? Everyone emails me about war craft, but I don't like the game, then again I have never really honestly tried to play it longer than a few minutes. Maybe I should. But its not xbox. Maybe thats ok. Im confused.

Its raining today, and it makes me blue. Maybe Ill write another song. Im into Conan right now, but it only took me 2 days to beat it but the babes are hot.

After all that has happened to us I am still trying to keep things together. I layed in bed for like an hour with my eyes open looking at the ceiling. I swear I made out several faces and it was weird.

October is coming, and that means winter. I got to get this album done and done fast so that we can perform a show. Once we get the chops down, we can then start to play, which is what we all want.

I tracked a song yesterday called "only you". I think I will put it up on our main site today. Its just me and my guitar, so I hope thats ok. It's good to have one acoustic song on an album now and then.

Ive decided to track two new songs, our last ones and call the album "Chronicles of the Orb", which is exactly what this is, a Chronicle. Why this couldn't happen to me when I was 21 is beyond me but then I look back at me at 21 and I was totally undeserving. I was.

Im not saying anything good will come of this, but our hits are really climbing and I think, and I feel, that maybe its my turn. I want this so bad for the band, they are all deserving and have been in other bands and screwed over so many times it took me a year to earn thier truist. I will pray tonight that we can break into radio without label support. No one in the history of mankind has ever, ever done that.

Shoot for the stars and hit the moon I guess.....
