Hello all the lovely Tweesters,

As the year begins to draw to a close, so, alas, does TWEE AS FUCK.

Like all good things, the twee party had to come to an end. After two and half of the best years of dancing, frolics and cupcakes, the time has come for Elaine to finish  her PhD and Pavla to get one of those PROPER jobs. And so with heavy hearts, from December 2009 TWEE AS FUCK will be no more. Sob!

Before the bitter end, we plan to go out with a bang. Join us as we make the most of mirth, revelry and indiepop, with the last TWEE AS FUCK extravaganza on Friday 11th December at Buffalo Bar with Comet Gain, Veronica Falls and Schwervon live, as well as some of our favourite guest DJs and free drinks and goodie bags.

AN EXHIBITION CELEBRATING INDEPENDENT CLUB PROMOTION IN LONDON




TWEE AS FUCK’S resident scribbler LAURA BELL will be showing limited edition silk-screen prints as part of WALLFLY, an exhibition celebrating independent club promotion in London.
 
Art directed by graphic designer Jayne Helliwell, curated by east London promoters This Is Music, and sponsored by Tiger beer, WALLFLY invades WAH NAILS from Thursday 26 November until Thursday 10 December. Limited screen-prints of LAURA BELL’s instantly recognizable poster art will be available to buy. Come quick! There will also be a private view on Thursday 26th November with a Twee as Fuck DJ set and free beer - yay!

Ok, so we're not going to go right out and say it, but that's not going to stop us from dropping CRASHingly obvious hints you'd be REALLY STUPID not to get. That's right, we have very special guests visiting us at the next Twee. So special, that we're not entirely sure it's physically possible. But it is! And we're really excited. The band formed in the mid 80s in England and disbanded in the early 90s, to return to the lovely (and tiny) Buffalo Bar for a warm up show on 9th October. They are known for their 60s influences, pop sensibilities and associated with the wave of independent music in the 1980s that included Jesus and Mary Chain, the Soup Dragons and My Bloody Valentine.

Bang! Twee as Fuck don't hang around much, you know. A mere week after putting on The Pastels(!), we're back at our beloved Buffalo Bar...

Playing live will be the wonderful THEORETICAL GIRL, with songs from hew newly released and highly praised debut LP, 'Divided'. Expect whip-smart P!O!P!, fancy dresses and lovliness.

Able support comes from New Zealander CONNAN MOCKASIN. Previous Twee shows by this man have seen absolute carnage break out, so don't miss this one. Expect Joe Meek-esque psychedelia, helium vocals and an autoharp.

Swedes MOOFISH CATFISH make beautiful, beguiling pop music in a Camera Obscura/Concretes vein. Expect Scandinavian sophistication, glamour and big, big hooks.

The legendary Mr Paul Court of The Primitives(!) joins the Twee As Fuck DJs behind the decks to lay down a soundtrack of Indiepop, 60s girl-groups, Northern Soul, Psyche and more 'til way past bedtime.
