Hey guys, we're super excited to announce that we will be having a live chat at Distortion Radio on Friday, September 4th at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern. Then that following Sunday our new single "Cheating Sin" will be premiered on Distortion Radio's show Scene Xposed.

I was thinking about how we should debut our new song and the obvious choice was Distortion Radio. We had a ton of success on the station last year and everyone there was great to us. After the song is played on Distortion Radio it will be played on a number of FM and internet stations as the month progresses.

All of us are really stoked to show you guys our new stuff, we've come a long ways musically and recording wise and can't wait for you guys to hear it!

The summer is pretty much wrapping up here in the next few days for us and we just want to thank everyone one more time for comming out to our shows or being involved in them in any way. We are going to be taking a break from playing shows for a while to finish up the CD which, like I said in the last blog, is super close to being completed.

The first single from our new CD, Cheating Sin, is going to be released to radio stations and put online in September!! When the time comes closer we'll have more details on that. We played it live at the last couple of shows and it's personally one of my favorite songs we've done so far, hopefully you guys will dig it too.

Until then, enjoy the last bits of summer!

So, over the past months we've been working hard on the new CD and we're pretty close to finishing it up. We have 11 songs done and they sound massive compared to anything we've ever done before.... And we have some very exciting news to announce soon about the CD. One of the things involves a celebrity.... you'll just have to wait and see to find out who it is and what exactly it's about!

In the next couple of months sometime we will be releasing a new single and of course we have two shows comming up where we will be playing a couple of the new tracks, so be sure to make it out to them. You can still get tickets from us to the Battle for Pointfest show if you hurry!

Hey guys, just another reminder that we're playing the Battle for Pointfest at Pop's in Sauget, Illinois. Tickets are $7 and you can get them by simply messaging us. We will be debuting two brand new songs that will be on the upcomming CD.

And on another note we can officially say we're in the "studio", currently in the progress of tracking drums for the next CD. Right now I can say two things: 1. I will probably not keep studio journals or continue the studio update videos we started because I don't think most of the stuff I'd have to say would be true at the end, we are constantly changing up what we do in the studio, which is a good thing. So just keep in mind we're in the studio and once the CD is close to done we'll say something. 2. The drums sound massive compared to the previous songs we've done, which is something we were really hoping to accomplish.

Bands always talk up their upcomming music, and always say that their new CD is their best yet, but we'll just wait until it's done and let you guys decide.

==============NEW LAYOUT AND SONG==============
We just put up a new layout for the new CD that we've been recording! There is also a new song up on the player. It's a techno song, but don't worry... we're still doing guitar stuff, I just thought this song would be a good example of what kind of electronic things we're wanting to put in our music. There will be a few all techno songs like this on the CD.

We are going to continue recording the CD throughout the summer and will have more news soon.

==============BATTLE FOR POINTFEST==============
Secondly, we are playing at Pop's in Sauget (super close to St. Louis) on the 28th of July at the Battle for Pointfest. The winner of the whole thing gets to play Pointfest in August... it'd be great to see you guys come! MESSAGE US FOR TICKETS! We will be playing two new songs at the show.

==============RADIO SHOW==============
On Sunday we're going to be on the 102.1 show "Musically Speaking". Our older songs will be played and there will be a live interview. If you live around Mt. Vernon, Illinois be sure to tune in at 6pm to hear it!

First off check out these new live videos from our last Living Room show! For those of you that don't know, The Living Room is closing down at the end of the month and all of us want to thank Tom and Dan for everything they did. They are great people and know what they are doing for sure.








Second off Defused is going to be on a special local FM radio show in a couple of weeks! We'll have more specific info soon, but there will be a live interview and some of our songs are going to get played too =-D. I've actually heard this radio station in a lot of stores in town, so you might hear us when you go shopping haha. More info soon! And see the last blog to read about all the great things comming on July 4th.

Yo everybody, the songwriting/demoing has been going great! It was kinda rough getting going but now that I'm in the groove or whatever things have been pretty productive. If you didn't read the last blog post the plan is for me to get all my songs roughly on a demo, then we are going to come together as a band and finish my songs up and then work on Connor's songs too. =-D

So far the songs are really experimental, like crazy. There will be a whole lot of eletronic things on this CD, like I keep on mentioning, and it's really giving the songs a whole new vibe. From the looks of it now I can say the CD is going to be extremely dark at times, have a large variety of different genre influences and have some weird technical things here and there too. One song is even in a 7/4 time signature!! haha So yeah, I'm trying to use everything available to me on these songs.

Sooo now you're probably wondering what the July 4th thing is about, here's the list of things that you will see on July 4th:

- New Layout
- The new album's title will be revealed
- The new album's artwork will be revealed
- A sample of one of the new songs will be put online
- A very big and exciting show will be announced for later in July

Ok, first off we are now an official artist over at www.myxer.com and you can get ringtones of our songs for free if you text DEFUSED to 69937 or if you go to our page at www.myxer.com/defused.

Now that we have that out of the way now it's time for buisness. Brock and myself recorded a demo last weekend and we made the decision that I should go off and write and record all of my songs and then we can come back as a band and revise or whatever. So, this is sort of like deja-vu of The Point of Beginning when I was all depressed, went on a "hiatus", and wrote a bunch of the songs haha. And since I am feeling similiar if not worse to when I did then I think these new songs will be extremely dark but also a lot different then the old stuff.

So the plan is for me to go off and isolate myself and record a rough draft of the new CD, then we'll come back and revise what I have as a band and record the songs Connor has and do final edits. Of course I'm sure more will go on in between these things, but that's the rough draft of the new CD. We'll have a lot of big news when it comes to recording the final versions I believe.

I'm going to be in unknown territory writing wise this time. Like I mentioned before there's going to be a lot of electronica influences on the new songs, and I'm writing all of these songs from complete scratch... a lot of the songs from The Point of Beginning were ideas I had in my head for a while, some even being from when I was 7 or 8 years old!

Wow, long blog post huh? It's probably going to be the last thing you hear from/about us for a while. The next blog post will probably happen once I get the rough draft of the new CD. So thanks everyone for supporting us in The Point of Beginning era, the next time you hear from us we'll be in the new CD era!!

So we felt like we had a great show last night, we had a ton of fun, hope all of you guys who came did too! So what are our plans now? Well, we're going to start working long and hard on the new CD starting next weekend. We've been offered a few alternatives on how to approach recording but for now we are going to demo the entire CD.

After we demo everything we're either going to go into a professional studio this summer or if we feel like the quality is good enough from our studio we will record everything here and then we'll go up to Chicago to have our CD mastered by a professional guy who has done work for big bands.

We all feel like this next CD is, in a way, going to be the CD of our life so we want it to be as great as we can possibly make it.

So there you have it, we're going to be busy with this new CD now! But we'll probably have some more shows here and there and we can hopefully debut a couple of new songs at these shows.
