Welcome to my blog 1.
I'm enjoying summer in Cambridge MA. Last week I went to Berklee's "String Fling" where I met a remarkable group of (mostly) young, committed violinists cellists and even violaists dedicated to improvisation in all it's glory. Matt Glaser honoured me by letting me teach a 3 hour worshop on R&B for strings which I enjoyed so much that I've decided to devote much more time to teaching (Look out for some learning materials coming soon). Matt has asked me to teach for the 5 week program next year which I'm very excited about. I feel like I've been coasting for a few years but I'm feeling very energized. I also was honoured by Eugene Freisen who accepted my invitation to perform an improvised duo. I've been interested in free improvisation for 30 years but never have I come across such an accomplished performer.
I was lucky also to get seats at the last of the Yankees series at Fenway. Close exciting games are great but give me a blow out over the Yankees any day. Go Sox!
