Finally we're back from Stockholm!
Our new single "Unstoppable" (which will be up on Myspace very soon!!) sounds awsome and we're very pleased
with the result, but the real adventure this time was actually the trip itself.
It all started out on friday morning when we left Malmö with the car that we
borrowed from Martin's grandma (pretty cool eh?). We took off an hour late but
managed to keep good pace and it all seemed perfect, not a problem in sight and
we were expecting to arrive in Stockholm at 2 pm which would be perfect since
the recordings would start at 3 pm.
However, while driving on the E4 highway north of Norrköping, our car started
to shake and did so for several minutes and finally forced us to stop the car
to see what was happening. It turned out to be the left back tyre that was
causing all the problem, it was totally ripped up, looked like someone had
taken a really huge bite from it!
After
changing to the spare tyre we continued our trip up to Stockholm in 70 km/h since the tyre
couldn’t handle more speed, so we arrived at least 1,5 h late!

After a
short moment of relaxing and recharging we finally started to record and it
couldn’t have gone better. Martin nailed the drums on the 2nd take and
Matt did a good and fast job aswell so we had all the drums, all the bass and a
little bit of the rhythm guitars nailed after our first day at work (which was
very short due to us being late). After having problems with finding our way to
Jakobsberg where we were staying during the weekend, we headed out into the
Stockholm night to Harry B James, we thought we deserved a few (a lot of) beers
after the trip!
The second
day started somewhere around lunch since we overslept due to obvious reasons
(hangover). After getting up we hurried away to get a new tyre before the
recording would start and also found one, the car was back in shape!
After a few
hours of work Gabby had nailed all the guitars except the soloes so we started
out with the vocals which Anthony handled with ease! Around 9 pm it was time to
call it a day so we went back to Jakobsberg and spent the night at Emils
Sportbar, a great local bar playing only hardrock and metal (at least when we
are there!).
Our last
day of work was spent on soloes and some other details before Chris took over with
the mixing and mastering. The weekend was over and the result was awsome, we
were going home...
...but
after an hour or two the car started to shake, or actually bump this time, it
was like we were driving on an oval tyre, so we didn’t have any choice but to
pull over at the first gas station to see what the problem was this time, but
after we’d tried everything for more than an hour we decided to stay, we couldn’t
take the risk to drive over 400
km with a car we couldn’t trust! We were prepared to
spend the night in the car and look for help the following day, but after 4 hrs
of wait and a few calls to the insurance company the rescue was a fact!

They had
the car taken away for repairs while they put us in a cab to the Scandic City
Hotel in Norrköping about 30
km away and the following day they gave us a rental-car
for the trip home, all this for free! A successful trip was soon to be over so the
night at the hotel was spent in the bar to celebrate what we had just proven
ourselves to be:
Unstoppable!
