CALLING ALL WROCKERS!

We need YOU to help US put on a massive show!! The new Mount Kisco Library is finilly finished, and it's beautiful -- see?

Here's the room where we will have the show. The acoustics are so awesome you don't need ANY amplification, even though there's room for a couple of hundred people!

Here's  the front of the library. Up above the library name is a 2nd floor patio, accessible from the community room. How awesome is that?

Plus, we are in easy walking distance to the  Mt. Kisco Metro North station, for those of you who don't want to drive. You can take the train!

So, let us know if you'd like to play a show in Mt. Kisco!! We'd love to get one organized!

Well actually, it's kind of an old song, revamped! We've been working on a lot of Elizabethan music lately, so we took a Thomas Morley canzonet and reworked it for goblins! It's called "The Last Knut," and we hope you like it!

Hi, everybody!
I know it's been donkey's years since you've heard from us  -- I do apologize, but we have been super busy lately.
Just wanted to let you know about a couple of great new things that will be coming up!
FIRST, The First Annual Sunflower Story Arts Festival will be happening in Mt. Kisco this coming Memorial Day Weekend! And we are going to be performing in an event in O'Malley's Pub on Sunday night! The event is called "stories in song," and it'll feature a wide variety of performers. Definitely check out the website, if you'd like to know more!
Oh, and if you like online parlor games, or are into storytelling, you definitely should join my new story wiki! It's great fun for the young, and the young-at-heart!
SECOND we are going to be having another Wrock show in Northern Westchester this Spring! We're still working out a couple of details -- but we'll keep you posted.
We're also going to be in another couple of concerts -- if your interested, please write us, and we'll tell you more.
Wrock on, everyone! And enjoy the beautiful day (we hope it's beautiful for you, wherever you are!)

Hello, all people and magical creatures reading this blog. We have just posted a new song about some more of our experiences in the last book. We do not get the credit we deserve as advisors! Listen, and you'lll see what I mean. Oh - if the link for lyrics isn't working, here they are:

Title: We Hate Camping

Oh, we goblins just hate camping.
we really, really do.
And if you must go camp with us,
we really will hate you.
Toora loora (etc)

The woods in winter bore us
when wandering around:
they're cold and wet and dreary. We
prefer it underground.

And we despise sleeping
in drafty, leaky tents.
You'd find a cozy cavern if
you had a bit of sense.

If you pick toxic mushrooms
and throw them in a stew,
we'll just refuse to eat the stuff
and watch it sicken you.

If you visit Godric's Hollow,
you should beware of snakes.
You think they sleep in winter? Well
that's one of your mistakes.

Should you see a strange patronus
deep in the woods at night,
go follow it, and drown yourself!
We won't hide our delight.

Oh, we goblins just hate camping.
We really, really do.
And if you must go camp with us,
we really will hate you

words Mary (grrl 1); music Mary and Deirdre.

OK, so we just found out that Barack Obama is IRISH! (partially at least). Some one of his great granddaddies came from Co. Offaly. Our dad was quite thrilled when he found out -- he called a friend of his to tell him that Barack came from Banagher (which isn't true actually -- different town). But anyway it seems that the people of Offaly are ecstatic, and they're making up these great new songs and singing them in pubs. Check it out!

Hi everybody!

We hope you're all having as good a weekend as we are!

The show tonight was really extraordinary, thanks to all the people who came, and all the musicians. It couldn't have been more beautiful, and we're really thankful!

Also, in case you missed our latest bulletin, we do indeed have a new song up. It's called "Achilles Heel," and it is indeed about that ancient greek guy with the foot trouble. But being classical, it is of course Universally Applicable -- right? So of course it relates to HP!! (and anything else you like!) Anyway, we like it, and we hope you do, too. And we're posting the lyrics here, in case you have any trouble understanding them in the recording. Enjoy! and please let us know what you think.

ACHILLES' HEEL

I.

Achilles was the infant son of Peleus, the king.
When he was born, his mother said, "Oh, what a pretty thing!
But woe! In ninety years or so he may grow old, and die.
I'd like to keep him deathless -- let's think what I can try."

There is a river called the Styx dividing life from death.
It is so wide and dark and cold, it takes away your breath.
But if you take a dip in it, and manage to survive,
the chances are quite good that you will always stay alive.

SoThetis, our young hero's mom, bethought her of the stream.
She grabbed the infant in her arms; her eyes took on a gleam.
She raced right through the then-known world up to the riverbank
where she tossed young Achilles in, and watched him while he sank.

But just before he disappeared, she grabbed him by the heel
and swiftly pulled him out, though he was twisting like an eel.
He squirmed and squealed; she said, "There, there, sweet baby, don't you cry!
I've made you all invincible, so now you'll never die.

I've heard of this Styx-water, it works just like a charm.
In every place you're wet you'll now be shielded from all harm.
So Thetis was quite pleased, but there was one thing she forgot.
The heel she grabbed the baby by -- did it get wet, or NOT?!

II.

The great Achilles, all grown up, went to the Trojan war
where he heaped glory on himself, as well as blood and gore.
He killed Prince Hector, eldest son of Priam, Trojan King.
Soon afterwards, the war was won, which was a lucky thing.

Achilles, though, who loved to fight, would hear no word of peace.
He acted just as if he thought the war should never cease.
While all around him people cried, "Let's stop this war we're waging!"
Achilles just ignored them all, and went right on rampaging.

But listen to the sad and dreadful ending of our song!
Apollo, great God of the Sun, thought that the Greeks were wrong
and that Achilles was a pest, rude, riotous and dim,
He looked for every chance he could to rid the world of him.

Meanwhile, Achilles battled on outside the walls of Troy
and there he met young Paris, King Priam's second boy.
Prince Paris shot an arrow, aimed at Achilles' head.
Apollo, though, directed it into his foot instead.

Our hero felt his heel was stung; he sighed, "I'm feeling tired."
He dropped his sword, he dropped his shield; he dropped, and then expired.

That's it for now! Thanks for reading/listening, and have a good week!
