Needless to say, it's been almost a year since there's been an actual movement with CREMATORIUM aside from playing a few spotted shows here and there but there's change in the air! As a lot of our fans know, we started playing a hybrid form of Death Metal and Hardcore back in 1991. At the time there was no real name for it and that's how we ended up coining the phrase "Murdercore." Even though CREMATORIUM's lyrical content was never about actual murder or the glorification of such, the murder part of the moniker was meant as a way for people to, in a sense... murder the preconceptions of the genre that CREMATORIUM was a part of. Plus the basic formulations of Daniel Dismal's lyrics had a sense of murdering the morals that we've been taught from a young age.
In a nut shell, what CREMATORIUM helped start is now a household genre being forefronted by a slew of bands that have been breaking new ground with a whole new generation of fans. Some of these bands attribute CREMATORIUM as being one of their main influences and some of them attribute bands where CREMATORIUM themselves found influence. All in all, CREMATORIUM, as recently said by Prosthetic Records owner EJ "probably is a lot bigger than ever right now."
With that being said, the band is back and ready to record their third Prosthetic Records release within late 2009 / early 2010. The album will be entitled "Born of Filth... Cultivated by Swine." The band is already showcasing new material at their upcoming live appearances with long time friends BRUTAL TRUTH and GOATWHORE as well as at the Los Angeles Murderfest which is being held in May.
The new material is a more concise version of the CREMATORIUM brand of hard hitting music and will find the band breaking new barriers of aggression, technicality and overall brutality.
CREMATORIUM also welcomes two new members to the fold, both of which coming from Daniel Dismal's original band, EPICEDIUM. The album line-up will be as follows...
Mark Uehlein - Guitars
Rob Tulk - Guitars
Aaron Cross - Bass
Taylor Young - Drums
Daniel Dismal - Vocals
As a band, we're excited to record the new album and we cannot wait to get the show back on the road!
