Current mood:  anxious

Needless to say, it's been almost a year since there's been an actual movement with CREMATORIUM aside from playing a few spotted shows here and there but there's change in the air!

As a lot of our fans know, we started playing a hybrid form of Death Metal and Hardcore back in 1991. At the time there was no real name for it and that's how we ended up coining the phrase "Murdercore." Even though CREMATORIUM's lyrical content was never about actual murder or the glorification of such, the murder part of the moniker was meant as a way for people to, in a sense... murder the preconceptions of the genre that CREMATORIUM was a part of. Plus the basic formulations of Daniel Dismal's lyrics had a sense of murdering the morals that we've been taught from a young age.

In a nut shell, what CREMATORIUM helped start is now a household genre being forefronted by a slew of bands that have been breaking new ground with a whole new generation of fans. Some of these bands attribute CREMATORIUM as being one of their main influences and some of them attribute bands where CREMATORIUM themselves found influence. All in all, CREMATORIUM, as recently said by Prosthetic Records owner EJ "probably is a lot bigger than ever right now."

With that being said, the band is back and ready to record their third Prosthetic Records release within late 2009 / early 2010. The album will be entitled "Born of Filth... Cultivated by Swine." The band is already showcasing new material at their upcoming live appearances with long time friends BRUTAL TRUTH and GOATWHORE as well as at the Los Angeles Murderfest which is being held in May.

The new material is a more concise version of the CREMATORIUM brand of hard hitting music and will find the band breaking new barriers of aggression, technicality and overall brutality.

CREMATORIUM also welcomes two new members to the fold, both of which coming from Daniel Dismal's original band, EPICEDIUM. The album line-up will be as follows...

Mark Uehlein - Guitars
Rob Tulk - Guitars
Aaron Cross - Bass
Taylor Young - Drums
Daniel Dismal - Vocals

As a band, we're excited to record the new album and we cannot wait to get the show back on the road!

The question has arose "what's next for Crematorium?"

Well, after our recent tour with PYREXIA, INFERNAEON and SONS OF AZRAEL we made the choice to work on a brand new EP which will feature 4-5 new songs, a few cover songs from bands that helped shape who we are as a band and possibly some live tracks of old songs. Our musical history has been paved with the full length then EP release formula. We feel it's the best way for us to progress as a band since we're not a band that likes to record every year. We like to expand our sound and then release a full length. EP's are like the middle of the road for us. More news on the EP as we make more progress.

We're finally in touch with a reliable source for European tours! We've always wanted to tour Europe and we've heard the call from countless CREMATORIUM fans throughout the years. We always sat back and watched new bands get their chance without understanding why we could never find someone who could handle booking us but this problem has seemed to end. Sad that it's taken so long but better late then never.

As for the US touring, it will happen again. We're just going to concentrate on the EP and the European tour for the time being. We want to head out through the US again, we love it out here but we really need to break new ground and start reaching new levels.

We appreciate everyones support. All the fans, the bands, the agent, the labels (Prosthetic / Spare Change especially) the radio stations, the websites and anyone who's believed in us from day one. We will not let you down, we will not falter.

Right now we're writing material for our follow up release to "The Process Of Endtime." Normally we take the Winter months off from touring / playing and 2006 was no different. Currently we're working on booking a few tours for the Spring and hopefully a bunch of East Coast dates in the Summer. So, don't worry... we're still alive and kickin'!
