All jokes aside, Im genuinely quite sad about the current disbanding of this group.
Everyone will have their opinions but I personally believe the remaining trio should call it a day.

Socially, it begs an important question..What do you buy into; the brand or the artist?

Just a thought.

All my love

I'll leave you with one of my favourites

Wow, I can definitely hear my echo in here.
Ok so I admit it, I have neglected myspace. But I cant be wrong in thinking Myspace is dead, can I ?

Anyway, the nature of this blog is really to let all 6 of you know whats going on with me in between the silences.
I am pretty much wrapping up the writing of this album now. The reason it might be taking "so long" is because I really want it to be BRILLIANT. And not something I have rushed because I feel have to.
So I went back to the drawing board and Im really pleased with what I've done.

There are a few demos up at the minute, some of these may or may not make it onto the final album but I think you should all hear them. I have enough material for about 4 albums. (You wont hear them all. They're not all that great to be frank)
Also, fittingly I seem to have fallen hopelessly in love with someone. This will most likely end in very salty tears. Perfect fodder for album 2. Sigh.

A probably NONE of the old stuff I've had up on here before will make it onto the album either. Yep, we're starting completely from scratch.

I hope you like .

Stay 'tuned'.

So the US EP is finally upon us! It's out THIS TUESDAY THE 4TH OF AUGUST
AND

People outside the US can also order it.

Some of you have been asking why it's called Querelle. It's named after one of my favourite films by Jean Genet, google it.

I should also say thank you to James Hankins for the artwork. I'm really quite proud of it.

I hope you enjoy it and are ready for the new wave of songs. The album is pretty much done now but I'm still writing all the time. I have to or I may implode.

BRB

p.s
there might be a secret show announced soon. Where I may be doing some of the new stuff. Keep . Peeled.

So let me first say and say it very staunchly I AM NOT A BILL O REILLY SUPPORTER. He is probably the most belligerent and ignorant right wing douches I've ever come across.

I find him angry and arrogant and it only scares me to see that he represents a huge majority of not only republican america but also the rest of the world. I'm well aware that the nature of his politics is more far reaching than just the USA.  Ignorant people are born every second all over the world.

For those of you not familiar with Bill O reilly, please take a few minutes to google, youtube and wikipedia him. You'll find some gems  i promise.
This video below, although it's 90% cu*t (O Reilly) There are some valid points made.

Anyway, the reason for this post is merely for me to vent.
Let me say I love Michael Jackson. I think he was a magical and as a youngster, a prodigious talent. He grew into an amazing performer and I dont think we'll see any one in our lifetime touch or better anything he did. But I did find his memorial and this public televised outpouring very, sick.
Not just sick. Weird, uncomfortable and in parts completely false.

Admittedly, i did not sit through the entire service. but i watched enough of it.
As moving as it was in parts. I couldn't supress the kicking in me that said "Wow, Usher sure is putting on a winning and emotive performance here"

and "what's that, Jackson's funeral sponsored by a stationary company?"
The best part was getting his daughter, Paris to make an uncomfortable sobbing speech about how much she missed her Dad. Even as her words became illegible through the tears, she had her hair stroked and was goaded, by her world famous aunts and uncles to keep going.

Added to the fact that you can't seem to move on the internet for sidebars and sponsored links telling you to click here for jackson memorabilia.
And if you were one of the many people to buy tickets for his tour, you are now presented with the A or B option. You can either get your moneyback or keep the ticket as a relic. But not both. Hmmm
And last but not least, Jackson's own father. Joe Jackson. Turning up to a BET red carpet event about 2 days after Michael had died.( Already, this is sounding inappropriate, right?) But couple this with him using this as a platform to launch his new label. I think we have reached a whole new level. (This is all pretty astounding but skip to 3.10sec  for the money shot.) ..

The list goes on. I would too but I am feeling queasy.
This is not a michael Jackson bash. Far from it. It is merely an observation. I think it speaks volumes about  modern society, celebrity culture and vulturism.
Not even your family are immune from it.

I don't know. It's altogether depressing and fascinating at the same time.
To be honest I didnt expect anything different. He was a phenomenon and a 'freak show'. It was only natural his service would be a grand circus.
Regardless of what you thought of his private matters or the accusations, we've seen that people and the media can pummel  to the ground and destroy every last inch of a person when they are alive. But death seems to spare this and elects them into a state of martyrdom. (See Jade Goody)

Hello

i am filthy.
It's 4.30 in the afternoon, I have not washed and I do not care. I am listening to Busta Rhymes. Im feeling pretty masculine and pumped up.
Plus I feel less guilty about not doing anything when the weather is mediocre. I just ordered pizza from Deliverance. I dont know what it means when the garlic bread tastes better than that the actual pizza. Ho well.

Just returned from 3 days in Paris recording with Gonzales. We did three new songs, we're  pretty prolific (he just emailed me with some pretty exciting news but I cannot reveal it yet but its a good un) I also had a few days in Stockholm with Peter and Bjorn from Peter Bjorn and John and their mate Tobias who's a producer out there. The guys were so fun and we came up with some good songs. I'll be going back at the end of the month. I'll keep you posted. Please check out
I know I keep hinting to these new songs but again with these, I cant play them just yet.
Soon though, verry soon.

You may have noticed I put a new track up called Clean Apart, produced by the very talented Asprins for my Children in my top friends). I feel I should mention this isn't actually new nor is it a nod to the new direction.
I put the track up because it's going on the US EP . I'm not hating on the old tracks but the new stuff is different and wont sound much like this.
It's less electronic..someone commented that it sounds more 'human'. It's just an opinion but I am certainly very excited about it and cant wait to play it to you all.

In the meantime, I am catching fish of various sizes and ferociousness.
Keep checking back in case I spring any surprises.

In the meantime here are some pictures of recent goings on

**The kids in the picture near the end are amazing. One of my new tracks has kids on the chorus, so we needed their sweet dulcet tones. But I dont know anyone under the age of 15. So we went to my managers old school. bizarre and fun. They were so cool. I don't remember being that funny at the age of 9. Hellohello,

Feeling a little funny today. Weird mix. Tired but curious, feel like going on adventure.

And also anxious but happy and optimistic at the same time.

Blah. Anyway, it doesn't make sense but it's ok.

Got a couple of new tracks that I'm really excited about. It's probably a bit different to the old stuff. I worried about this for approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes and then forgot about it. Some of you will like it some of you wont but that's quite alright. I'll have some stuff up soon. Doing my last 4 gigs week after next, Ireland, France and London. Then going on a bit of a hiatus- well not really as I will be working very hard Just going away, not dead though

I'll be back.

It feels good.

Wait for me please.

Week started off well, then wobbled.

I had one of those writing sessions/encounters that allowed me to realise that most maxims are true. If I know anything it is always trust your gut instinct.  I'd ignored that adage for so long. Whatever happened, I learned a lesson and I'm better off for that. So...

I've been reading more because I started developing a crippling neuroses about growing/ being stupid. Really. Made me a bit miserable for a while.

Also, i hear modern life is fairly rubbish.  celebrity's are dickheads, tv is laughing at us, the internet is turning me almost insane.

I have one day off a week in which I only listen to stuff I've never heard before. Or bands that I'd always heard of and never bothered to listen to. I'm basically trying to do everything. It's brilliant.

I need inspiration. If you ever need it, read a book, watch a film. Or make a wrong decision. It werks.

Thought I'd add some old pics I'd forgotten to from my adventures over the past couple of weeks/months. New Metronomy set up is ace. Gabriel will be missed thoughx Photobucket From time to time.
