Hey all!!

Just a bit of an update on all things Diamond Eye.

We are currently in the studio recording 11 tracks and it's sounding really fucking cool!

More news on that soon.

We have also decided to take a few weeks off from gigging while finishing the record and
we are also taking the time to write some new tracks which we are excited about.

We are planning a return show in late August/September, so keep your eyes and ears open coz it'll be big!!!

Cheers.

I was surprised to see so many Diamond Eye T-shirts all over the front of house prior to these up-and-coming rockers hitting the stage. They were literally everywhere you looked and its obvious there’s a big and super loyal following there. People were lining up at the front of the stage as their road crew of 7 (no kidding!) showed just how professional a local band can be. You could see the influence of Double Platinum Promotions senior A&R Lorelle who’s taken these four guys from the blue collar suburbs and turned them into an act becoming popular with a big cross section of fans.
Their sound was fat, Troy set behind a behemoth of a kit that couldn’t help but make you think of Peter Criss and he had the chops to actually back it up. Chase is becoming a huge stage performer on bass and between Will’s amazing Paul Stanley style vocals and Greg’s Satriani style guitar licks, you can see that glam is certainly making a comeback, only this time with a harder edge. Quite simply, they kicked ass!

Hey there gang!!

We are pleased to announce the latest addition to the Diamond Eye family in the form of skinsman Troy "Bagz" Goscombe. Troy has joined us due to our recent parting of ways with original drummer Danny Torre.

Troy's hard hitting, technical skills and flare, gives the band a heavier and tougher edge and makes us sound bigger and badder than we have ever been!!

We will be showing off "the new boy" over the next few weeks starting with our HUGE Return Show next Saturday 22/11 @ The Railway Hotel, followed by Sat 29/11 @ The Charles and Sat 6/12 @ The Rocket Room. Make sure u get to a show and rock out with the new lineup!! Checkout our Upcoming Shows for Bills.

We all sincerely thank Danny for his efforts and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.

We are also pleased to announce that we have engaged Double Platinum Promotions as our Management team. We look forward to working with Lorelle and Co. and are excited about our future prospects with DPP on board.

We recently flew to Sydney to compete in the Australasian Final of the Global Battle of the Bands. The judges got it wrong!!! Hahahahaaa ;) No seriously though, we didn't win the comp, but we played well and enjoyed showcasing our goods to industry heads who were very positive about us and snapped up all of our Demo cd's and t-shirts we had available for them.

Will and Greg were also interviewed by Channel V and we hope to obtain a copy of the interview and live footage from GBOB which aired on 6th November 2008. We will post as soon as this comes thru.

All in all, we’re very happy with what 2008 has been for Diamond Eye. Since our first public show in March this year, we’ve:

·         Recorded our 5 track Demo

·         Won the WA Global Battle of The Bands

·         Played a showcase in Sydney

·         Appeared on Channel V and Radio Fremantle

·         Obtained management, and

·         Played over 20 shows including many headlining slots.

Can’t wait to see what 2009 brings with planned recording of our Debut Album and a tour for starters!!

We will also be updating our page shortly with new photos n stuff so make sure you drop by again soon!!

Hope to seeya at a show soon, until then keep it loud!!

Diamond Eye..

The whole of Rocket Room was active when Diamond Eye started to rock out on stage.  The audience quickly moved towards the stage to feel the tight beats of music that the guys were pumping out.  With rapid drumming and strong stage presence the song "Fuck" has defiantly become a crowd favourite. They had the crowd getting involved as much as they could by letting them sing in certain parts.

From the moment they stepped into the spotlight, loving every minute that they are alive onstage with the crowd cheering for them, they head banged away.  They ripped through each song with complete confidence and were in such fine form in doing it.

Diamond Eye was energetic and strong from beginning to end with their soaring guitar harmonies. They are a solid band who is good at their style which reaches out to all different genres and different crowds. To me, Diamond Eye has put a new meaning to 80's Rock in the 21st century.

Hey crue!

Well, we've had a massive weekend! It all began Saturday nite with a great show at The Castle with Trident Winter and the ladies of Maidenhead.

This was followed up with the rest of the evening involving much drunken debauchery, finishing up around 7am....

We arrived at the Leopold Hotel around 4pm, just in time to see the mighty Blues runover the Doggies aye...

We then sent up our drummer, The Hot Young Buck (the luckiest fucker we know) to draw our number out of the hat AND he pulls 11 out of 12, awesome!

The night was opened by our good mates Stellas Kitchen who unfortunately drew the opening slot, but as usual, they fuckin rocked it!

A great set by Enkounter on the nite aswell, and then it came to our turn...

We were quietly confident that we could pull this off and just before we started, a crowd of about 40 gathered right in front of the stage (which no other band had). We tore the fucking roof off the place, with our tracks Waiting For Me and Fuck! The response from the crowd was phenomenal and it seemed quite clear that we had it in the bag.

"And the winner is... DIAMOND EYE" The place erupted and we joined together with our traditional chant of alala alalalalala alalalalalalaaaaaa!

We received the unanimous decision from the judges and also the top crowd vote, so we are absolutely stoked.

Can we say a huge THANK YOU! to everyone that came down to support us and to those friends that we also made on the nite.

Now we're focussing on Sydney and we have a few people that are going to join us at the Hilton Hotel on Monday 3rd November 2008, when we take of the rest of Australasia, then maybe.... London for the World Finals.

If u feel like coming for a party with us, please do, we would love ur support!!

We will be celebrating our GBOB win on Friday 8th August at the Railway Hotel, North Fremantle with Bourbon Sprawl. Join us, to help us celebrate and check out for yourself the DIAMOND EYE show...

Rock on!!

Hi crue,

Received an awesome note from a fan and thought we would share it with ya!!

"An awesome seriousness and powerful drive displayed by band members proved that the rock energy Perth has been lacking is well and truly back. Who would have known that I, cover band enthusiast, would be stunned by the excellence of this all original gig. Well done fellas."

We thank Nicoletta for her comments, we appreciate it!!

Next show is Saturday 7th June @ The Castle, Newcastle St, Perth. Hope to see u there!!

Cheers,

Diamond Eye
