At the end of each summer the community of Columbus, Ohio gets together for an evening to enjoy each other's company and bid adieu to the thick August air. As well as (typically) rock out to 10-12 bands/musicians, witness some fine local art and graze on some delectable, home-cooked grub.
We call it the Slum-B-Q and for this our third annual installment we couldn't be any more thrilled to have longtime Columbus rock luminaries, 84 Nash, headlining the show with their farewell performance. Yes, their last show ever! We'll send them out on top in a blaze of yelping guitars and shrieks of glory!
Also lending their talents to the festivities will be Times New Viking, Necropolis, Church of the Red Museum, The Lindsay, Two Cow Garage, Ron House, Sarah Asher, Kyle Sowash and Tree of Fern. More acts to be announced!
Slum-B-Q 3 will take place on Saturday, August 26th, 2006 at Little Brother's in Columbus, OH. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music beginning promptly thereafter. Food will be served until it's gone.
Tickets for this 18 and over event can be purchased at Ticketmaster, the Little Brother's Box Office or at the door on the night of the show for only $8.40 (in honor of the Nash). Okay, we'll round it down to $8, for the door guy's sake. Har, har.
A portion of proceeds from the Slum-B-Q will benefit the Columbus Music Co-op, an emerging non-profit organization which performs philanthropic work for the local music community through modest grants, helping musicians locate low-cost healthcare options and providing networking and educational opportunities to further their aspiring careers in music.
For further details, visit the Slum-B-Q's official website at www.slumbq3.com or Little Brother' at www.littlebrothers.com. Otherwise, additional information about Slum-B-Q 3, future events, press materials, and related images are available upon request.
It is also important to note that we strongly encourage people to bring cameras and any recording equipment they would like in order to document Slum-B-Q 3 for archival purposes.
