So here you go ..my new baby! I'm really proud of this one. A rather old song about a dear friend. The kind of friend everybody needs in their life. Someone who will do damn near anything for the loved ones around her.
Patterns was recorded at Phoenix Drive Audio in Dallas from Feb to May 2009. With the help of the keen and ever so accommodating Chris Linville. Chris also made an impact with the drumset towards the end. The soulful voice of Jason Michael (Jones) backed me up. Thanks Jason! On the bass is Wade Cambpell, who site read this song and nailed it the first time. I hope you enjoy!

It's 8:30 in the morning. I'm having my first cup of coffee. Today's my birthday and I might have two or three more cups. Sit down. I've something to tell you. In six weeks I'll be packing up my lady, the U-Haul and heading to Colorado. Denver via the map on Sara's phone. My Dallas times have been good ones. I've been watered and talked to by to many that I now call family. Shucks. So I thought I'd reach out to you there in the internet and fill you in on what I've been doing.
My first solo CD Balance was released at the end of 2007. A few months later my Greenstar band got together, played a ton of local shows and recorded our first CD. I'm really proud of it. As a matter of fact, it's a fun explosion. The release was postponed due to my inability to have money. The band moved our separate ways for the next year. When the Denver move date was solidified I realized that I had a few loose ends to tie. Loose ends dangling like a half written song. So after a call to our favorite bar and a trip to Office Depot a CD Release party was born.
Before all of this. Before a lot of things, I sang for a rock band named Until They Arrive. We were tight. Tight like butter. Played and toured together for four years before disbanding in 2007. Final show discussions were tossed around but everyone was pretty burnt out by then. We all stayed in touch. A few months ago we started practicing again for a last show/going away party at Glenn's bar in May. I stared playing my electric again. Rock!
Also I've been playing the Rhodes for my boys in Jones. Their music has taught me a lot so far. I'm looking forward to playing with those cats as much as I can.
Uh.. let's see. There was something else. In February my friends at Phoenix Audio Drive started recording my new/old song Patterns. Full instrumentation. It sounds amazing and will be out there soon.

Last Friday I got the huge pleasure of participating in a first annual charity event for a brilliant new organization. A Simple Heart Org is a non-profit group of helping hands. A group of friends donating their time and money to help the less fortunate. At first, the city threatened to shut them down for "illegally" feeding the homeless. As donations increased and people began seeing their work, they expanded to even more community service projects. The group began volunteering at Children's Medical Center, the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, and started a reading campaign that helped put books into the hands of children that could not afford them. Please check out their site if you want to help in any way at all. It's refreshing to know that there are still people out there that want to help simply for the sake of helping.
So... on Friday Oct 3 I got to play at their 1st Annual "Keep it Simple Benefit Concert". It was one hell of a good time. I met the rest of the guys on the bill at the KNON 89.3 studios for a quick plug for the show later. The talent in the room was greatly inspiring. I played a tune off my upcoming solo record and tried to make sense when I spoke. Then followed by two guys on the road from Atlanta, Ryan Horne and Micah Dalton, playing separately and together. I highly recommend you listen to these songsters. Simply amazing voices and material. Finally The Hammerknockers filled the room with sweet bluegrass sound.
The show was at the legendary Sons of Hermann Hall. It was an honor and a trip to be on the same stage as so many Texas legends. The night went off like fireworks. Everyone played as if it was going to be the last time. Phenomenal. A Simple Heart sold many shirts and is now smoothly on the way to sending underprivileged kids to camp in Duango next year. Hey everybody. It's been a while. I hope you are well. Just finished a full band EP. 6 amazing pop rock tunes recorded with my dear friends Ricardo Gonzalez, Chris Hull and Jason Bennett. Otherwise known as Dustin Morris Greenstar Band. Our first year together we met many great people and played some exciting shows and festivals. Due to everyone following their own path, we've decided to take a long break. I'm still going to release the disc and work some of the material into my solo shows. It's a pretty fantastic CD. I know you're going to love it. I'll be previewing a few songs on my page later this week. See you real soon.

"Balance" the debut release from Dustin Morris is definitely a passionate release of music which summons up many emotions. At first, wasn't sure to what to think of the album, when you mingle the euphony of pop, blues, folk, rock…that is a lot to take on as a artist.. but when we are given the chance to hear "Balance" first track " Had To Try" you hear fun and pop… the following track "This Old World" is more Dylan-esque. This is a eclectic release is one you pop in the player in your car, with the windows down … and you enjoy! Vocals much like Mike Viola,(CandyButchers) and Bob Dylan, and Levi Dean (Dean Station) you will want to pick this one up! Dustin is a talent that we can expect great music!
