No, I'm not talking the apple here, I'm once again bowing down to the brilliance that is Lora Leigh!

I can honestly say that I have not yet read a Lora Leigh book that I didn't absolutely love and Forbidden Pleasure is another A+++ winner in my book.

Mac, Keiley and Jethro, breath life into this age old feminine fantasy as Ms. Leigh has us falling a little bit in love with each one of her characters.  Mac and Jethro, alpha in all things, there to protect and love that lucky Keiley all the while they are opening her eyes to a new world.

This is a wonderful story and not to be missed.  The plot is exciting, the characters down to earth and honest and the love...well that is Forbidden!!!

Okay this I just had to share!

I'm a total fan of Jensen Ackles, so when this landed in my bulletins, well I just had to watch.  I'm still chuckling!

Now not being a guy, I've never had to face the terror of getting your woman a box of tampons, but being a woman I can tell you that any guy willing to "face the fear" gets points in my book.

As for the clip, lets hope it makes it to national distribution cause it looks like a rocking movie!!  Send the clip on to anyone you think might get a kick out of it and of course all those Ackles fans you know!!

Have a good one!

So while I'm chatting with a far away family member this blog kinda slaps me in the face.

You know one of those ~helloooooo~ moments.

So tomorrow is Turkey day, a day to give thanks, eat yourselves sick and of course spend it with family.  Oh how exciting right, you just can't wait etc etc etc, but how many have that underlying sense of "dang, I'm tired already people and now you want to have Thanksgiving!"

Come on admit it, you know that deep down you would really just like to kick back and enjoy the holiday with your immediate people, hubby, wife, SO, child/children and don't forget the furry babies.

Extended family is wonderful and you love to see them, but why do we feel we need to squeeze it all in on one little holiday?

What we want to do is stay at home, watch the Macy parade, smell the turkey cooking, check out football games, play games with the kidlet, stuff yourself on a sweet ass turkey then sleep off said turkey.

Instead we race our tails off, hitting everyones homes that we fear will be offended by us not showing, eat a minimum of two to three meals just trying to be polite then come home too pooped but definitely ready to pop.

Why do we do this???

Now don't get me wrong, I will be spending Thanksgiving with my family, happily, but I will also be racing a bit as well.  So I've decided to make a point of seeing the extended members of my family more next year that way avoiding the feeling that I must make my appearance on Thanksgiving and I get more family time throughout the year!

That said, to everyone reading this blog, friend and family alike...

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Gulp, pace, gulp, pace, stare out the window wishing for the millionth time that I hadn't suggested that my hubby take my car to work.

So I now know how my mom felt when I demanded to walk to school on my own.

My daughter has decided that she is a big enough girl to walk the short distance to her school and it is killing me.  She started walking with her friend from across the street about a week ago and while I worried, I felt a smidge better that she was with another child and really the school is not that far away.  There are no large streets to cross and it is all neighborhood walking, but today her friend is sick and she still wants to walk on her own.  ~sniff~  "I'll be fine, mom." she says, but really the question is will I be!

I watched her for as far as I could and her friends mom can see the school from her back window so she promised she would watch my sweet heart cross the road, but I'm still mom enough to want to jump in my car and follow her, just to make sure she is OK, to her utter embarrassment I'm sure.

Lucky her I have no car today.  Now for a day full of worry...damn, no one told me it would be this hard to be a parent!

Nope no spoilers here just a gleeful OMG I loved this book expression! ~smile~

A Lick of Frost by Laurell K Hamilton is an wonderful book.  Merry is both soft and strong, wise but a bit naive and surrounded by a passel of incredibly interesting, strong and HOT men!

The characters in this series come to life at Mrs. Hamilton's hand and each story gives you a deeper peek at the many different people in Merry's life.

Each story is an emotional journey not to be missed.  If you haven't had the chance to read any or Laurell K Hamilton's works do yourselves a favor and move her books to the top of your must read list...they are worth it!

**note - make sure to read them from the beginning, both the Meredith Gentry and the Anita Blake series build on the previous stories and seriously should not be missed!

Have a great weekend

So check this out...

This little cutie came with his very own special brand!  Couldn't you just give him the biggest smooch?

A PUPPY has been born in Japan with a large,
clear, love-heart-shaped pattern in his coat.
The Chihuahua was born in May as one of a litter to a breeder.
Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said it was the first time a
puppy with the marks had been born out of a thousand she had bred.
She had no plans to sell the puppy, which has been named 'Heart-kun'.
The long-coated male Chihuahua puppy was born in Odate, northern Japan

OK get ready for it, I have for you another book review.  I just finished Edge of Midnight by Shannon McKenna and ~sigh~ I loved it!

So why the sigh?  Well, now I have to wait for another installment, hope for another installment and pray pray pray there will be another installment!!  It's going to be torture I tell you!

Edge of Midnight is the fourth book in the McCloud boys world and it has been just as fantastic as the rest.  Intrigue, Love, Sex, Action, Sex yes I did say that twice, hehe, all rolled together to make this a book you just can not put down.

Sean and Liv are an amazing couple who just click.  You can't help but to love them.

If you haven't yet read any of this series, well wait no longer.  Start with Behind Closed Doors, then Standing in the Shadows, Out of Control and finally Edge of Midnight.  I guarantee you will not regret it.

Have a good one

I bet you're asking yourself, what the heck? Brain age? Of course that is the same age as my body, duh.

Well I'm here to tell ya that is not necessarily true.  Apparently you have to use the old melon to keep it in shape...who'da thunk it!

So where am I going with all of this?  Well, I've been hearing commercials for the Nintendo DS game Brain Age, you know the ones where they ask you do answer like 4 questions, what is 4+4, name the color and stuff like that and I thought...hum fun game maybe I ought to try it.

Well I bought it to play on my kids DS and guess what...

My brain is OLD!! ~sniff~  I apparently have not been using my prefrontal something blah blah(see old brain)

In order to give your brain a workout you have to do lots of math type problems ~no spider solitaire while listening to boot scooten boogie does not count, believe me it was my first question~ anyway that's what this game offers, Calculations, Low to High(memorizing the placing of numbers and re entering them correctly), Syllable counting etc etc.

It is actually pretty fun and I can feel my brain getting younger everyday ~OK maybe not~ but I'm working on it.  I figure if I can get my Brain Age to 29, then when I get of bed in the morning and feel like I'm 129  at least I'll have something to fall back on and feel good about!

Also, then I can tell everyone who asks that I'm 29!  Hey it won't be a lie exactly.

Have a great day!

So my spunkster is out of school for the rest of the week, it being MEA weekend and all and I can always rely on her for a really good question that I of course can not answer!

Today it was, "Mom, how do you make paper?"

Now she of course doesn't get my "are you kidding me look" so there I am desperately trying to pull the paper making process from my old brain.

Sadly, I feel as though I should have some idea of the process involved aside from "they cut down trees and put them in the special paper making machine", but of course I don't have a clue.

Did I learn this in school somewhere along the way?  Was I listening or was that something my young brain didn't deem important enough to remember? If it wasn't somehow related to Duran Duran or my crush of the month, I probably didn't commit it to memory.~sigh~

So what did I tell my young spunkster?  Well, lucky me I married an man who worked for many summers at the local...can you guess?  yep the local paper mill!!

She and daddy will be having a nice long talk tonight after swimming lessons!!

Have great day!
