Hey ho folks, big d calling from across the pond,

Even though im quite far away ive been keeping my eye on this ol' myspace page and have made an executive decision to post a rather tasty version of State of Affairs stalwart tune- Let's try Again, you can download it and play it to your plants and cats and shit as many times as you see fit, you can even put it on a disc and pass it off as your own work (tongue in cheek) whatever I dont give a fuck, just please enjoy it and keep spreading the good news around! P.S its a live recording produced by Tony Doogan who got busy with those crazy belle and sebastien kids.

The shape of things to come...

Basically This Thursday we will be hitting the stage at Cabaret Voltaire as Part of Miller beers hosted Thursday nights "The Mill". This will be our last gig until October, (Besides our show in Inverness later this month!) The gig is free for all but to claim your ticket visit;  http://www.themill-live.com (Unless you are already on our guest list)

We are taking a break over the summer as Dave is traveling to Canada to spend some time working on a ranch. We are all gutted about leaving the band for a few months, but are going to be ready to hit back hard in October.

Thanks again for all the support!

Happy summer

Hey guys,

State of Affairs are booked into play the Lomond Hills Hotel on the 22nd of February. This is going to be a warm up and fund raiser for our single launch on the 21st of March at Elmwood College. We'll be preforming a lot of our own material and also some bonuses. So if anyone fancies a relaxing Sunday evening with some live music and a couple of drinks come down and see us, it would be much appreciated! Music will be kicking off about 7:30 and go on until about 9:00.

Thanks  SoA

hi Folks, thanks to everyone for coming down last night. It was a great time.

Here's what music-news.com had to say about the proceedings.

'First to grace the stage are State of Affairs, a banging four piece
from Edinburgh. The music is reminiscent of early Sunny Day Real Estate
and Braid. State of Affairs play their music loudly, which is how live
music should be. The songs go right through you, straight to the bones
so that you don’t just hear, but also feel the quality of the music.
State of Affairs are a great band to see live and kick of tonight’s
show with enthusiastic force.
'

short and sweet

Thanks Again

Hi Everyone.

SOA have been hitting the practise studio hard this past two weeks trying to get our live shit together for the gigs we have this week. If you can make it along to any of them we'd be delighted. We might even have a cheeky wee cover ready for you but we're not telling what it is. Thanks to everyone for your continued support. Please buy the digital single if you havent already. The hard copy will be out soon, we just finished the artwork, it should look sweet, we spent a cold evening on the roof of our flat (thank you scaffolders) taking some pictures, we still dont look cool but maybe that's a good thing?

We might try and write some new songs soon and maybe we'll be dead famous  but until that day comes.

Thanks Y'all

Take Care

Hi everyone

Wee blog just to say that one of our new tracks is up now soon to be followed by an alternate version of 'You Were the First' taken from the same session. These new tracks were recorded live to two inch tape at Chamber studios in Granton Edinburgh. They sound huge so please turn them up loud! Altogether we recorded four songs- Never Had it So Good/ Futile/ Smokescreen and YWTF. We'll be releasing NHISG/Futile as a double A-side single in the new year so look out for that!

We'd also like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made this year a good one. Obvious highlight was T in the Park, so cheers to all the folks who forfeited the chemical bros/ verve to come see us. We'll be putting a big gig in Cupar in the new year also to coincide with our single release so keep your eyes peeled!

Anyhoo Have a great new year and we'll see y'all soon!

Current mood:  excited

Hey,

Recording last night went very well, much better than any of us expected got Futile and Never had it so good slammed down on the wax and also managed to find time to do Smokescreen and You were the first as well. Unfortunately Daves cold got the better of him so were back in tonight to do the vocals. Tracks are sounding really awesome so far and hopefully tonight we'll slide the icing on to a very well baked cake, possibly even a cherry.  Shall keep ya'll posted.

Cheers
