....................
Monday July 20th 2009
Things are a bustle on the grounds of the Michigan
Renaissance Festival. Preparations are
fast underway for the 2009 season.
Gardens are being spruced up, buildings are being prepped, performers
are rehearsing, and the staff is working long hours. However, the Michigan Renaissance festival
was upset this morning to discover that, once again, their village idiot has
gone missing. He was last seen on the
festival grounds Sunday evening as workers were preparing the grounds and
gardens.
One witness explained, “I don’t think he liked the
gardening, but it has to be done!”.
Another witness said, “Of course he took off again, there’s
work to be done!”.
One grounds worker noted, “He does this all the time. Just when we need him the most!”.
As a result the Michigan Renaissance Festival is offering a
reward for the discovery of his location.
Individuals who are able to locate him, along with his secret code, are
asked to email it to michrenfestpromo@gmail.com. The reward currently stands at two festival
admission vouchers. To help you in your quest 3 clues will be posted daily; one
on facebook (www.facebook.com/michrenfest), one on myspace
(www.myspace.com/michrenfest), and the *bonus* clue will be posted on twitter
(http://twitter.com/michrenfest). Please monitor these closely for
updates.
We appreciate everyone’s concern and hope for his safe and
speedy return.

So as we get closer and closer to festival, we get more and more
excited. We remember festivals of the past and revel in the excitement
of a new and exciting season. It's because of this that we would like
to invite you to share your memories of past Michigan Renaissance
Festival. They could be funny stories, things that happened, or your
favorite foods. Please include them as a comment on our page (keep them
clean!). We will be randomly selecting participants to receive an
official 2009 Michigan Renaissance Festival t shirt! Here's one of my
own:
Two years ago I brought a date to Festival. He was a doctor :). He was
a lot of fun but it was one of our first dates. We had a lot of fun at
festival and were getting ready to leave. We decided no trip would be
complete without a tasty treat. As I was standing at one of the tables
enjoying a snack, two kids ran by me, one of them kicking my ankle as
he ran by. I fell to the ground. Luckily my date rushed to my side and
gave me a thorough examination of my foot. Not broken... just sprained.
It was adorable and made for a memorable experience.
You get the point... it's sharing time!

Press Release:
June 5, 2009
Shortly after 7am on Friday June 5, 2009 it has been
discovered that our village idiot has breached the confines of Holly Grove in
Holly, Michigan.
Anyone who is able to locate his whereabouts is asked to
contact the Michigan Renaissance Festival immediately. A reward of two festival tickets is being
offered for those discovering his whereabouts.
Each site will host a separate clue, so the more clues you
find, the better your chances are of locating our missing village idiot. Upon locating the village idiot you will
discover a secret code. Please send this
code directly to MRF on facebook, myspace, or email michrenfestpromo@gmail.com. Please also include your name and mailing
address for your reward.
Due to the sensitive nature of his disappearance it is asked
that all information regarding his whereabouts be shared directly with the
Michigan Renaissance festival and not the general community. Those found in breach of these guidelines
will be disqualified from this and future competitions.
Good luck in your quest.
