Sahg is currently recording their third album. At the time of this update, nine new songs are being taped down for the new album, due for release on Indie Recordings early next year. Things are running smoothly in the studio, and the sessions so far have been very promising! The album is being produced by Herbrand Larsen, assisted by Ice Dale, both members of Bergen metallers Enslaved.

What you see here, is the new drummer in Sahg. As you probably understand, we had serious doubts about hiring this lunatic. But he turned out to be an excellent man with the right attitude and sense of commitment, and not the least, a bloody outstanding drummer! His name is Thomas Lönnheim, and he has brought a whole new groove to the table, as you will hear on the new album which is now in the making.

Nine new songs are so far ready for the new Sahg album coming out next year. For the moment, all we can say is that the band has picked up quite some pace this time around! There are a lot more of the fast songs, but on the other hand, the groovy ones are heavier than ever. We will let you in on the first few tastes from the new album, as soon as they have been put on tape!

On Tue Aug 25, Sahg kicks off this year's Hole In The Sky Festival with an exclusive live premiere on their upcoming 3rd studio album, in its entirety. The album is due for release in October of this year. The band recently signed a record contract with Indie Recordings, and will spend the last few weeks prior to the festival in the studio recording the new songs. So, the material you will be served, is as fresh as can be! Be at Garage, Bergen, Tue Aug 25!

Whitesnake-Sahg small

Sahg is proud to be confirmed as supporting act for Whitesnake at their upcoming show in Bergen, Norway, on Mon, May 25. The event takes place at Arenum, and is part of Whitesnake's 'Still good to be bad' tour.

Sahg has signed a new record deal with Indie Recordings. The band’s engagement with Regain Records is hereby terminated. Sahg’s third album release is already being planned, due for release through Indie Recordings in October 2009.

Singer and guitarist Olav Iversen states: “Signing with Indie Recordings seems like the most natural thing in the universe for Sahg to do. These people really care more about the music than the money, unlike most others in this business. That was crucial for our decision. We believe this is the right place for Sahg to develop further and keep on expressing what we want musically.”

The record label announces: “Indie Recordings is proud to announce the signing our favorite rock act SAHG. We are extremely happy to add this wide-legged, sweaty class act to our roster. They bring along a new sound to our label – carrying on the legacy of the 1970’s legendary hard rock bands in an outstanding way. We can’t wait to help this band claim their rightfully deserved place in the scene! Indie Recordings welcomes Sahg into the family!”

Sahg bills up for the 2009 Norway Rock Festival, which is due on July 9-12, in Kvinesdal, Norway. Sahg plays on the final evening of the festival, along with Doro, U.D.O, Nightwish and Satyricon. Also on the bill are W.A.S.P, Manowar and Testament.

Sahg performs as special guests at Stonegard's grand farewell show at Rockefeller, Oslo, on January 16. We take this opportunity to make a live video recording of our show, to be released as bonus material for our next album, due later this year. We have just finished our tour of India, having played five shows across the country during the Great Indian Rock festival. The tour kicked off with a small club gig in Delhi on Oct 30, followed by open air shows in Mumbai, Dehli, Shillong, and the grand finale at Palace Grounds, Bangalore, in front of 6,000 screaming maniacs.

The response from the Indian audience exceeded all our expectations, and the tour has made a great first step for Sahg in India and hopefully also other parts of Asia. Our gratitude goes out to all of you who came out and made Sahg's first visit to India such a memorable experience!

Hear recorded tracks from the show at Hamsadhvani Open Air Theater, New Dehli, on Nov 1, now on Sahg Myspace, more live recorded tracks from the tour will be posted shortly. Photos and video clips from the tour will also be posted soon, on Sahg Myspace and the Visuals gallery on this website.
