so very nonchalantly i entered the kauai music festival this year...like i do every year since my first. i also submitted a song to the songwriting competition...you can listen to it, it's the second one down, "Smiling Down".

I'm stoked, and thankful and it's weird...it just seems like it didn't happen. pretty unreal.

but i guess it totally did. and I have 2 free roundtrip tickets to hawaii. anyone want in?!?!

haha..anyhoo.

just thought i would let anyone who cared to know that it did happen. and i wanted to write it all out for myself to document that it actually did happen.

and also, is anyone a wizz at myspace formatting? I want to make mine cool, or at least organized, but i'm very not educated in that area. I want simple...but classy. and to be able to center my youtubes and put spaces between the paragraphs of my bio...ThAT is how bad I am at this stuff!

so i'm pretty bored.  i'm at san diego home, hangin...a little tipsy, but that's just because it was free from a wedding i just sang at.  I'm waiting for something to happen.  like waiting for monday.  super bad.  hawaii is welcoming me on monday.  or Tuesday morning...however you like to look at it. 

but until then, i'm just waiting.  around.  being super lame.  i can't even watch tv because our tv is broken.  i know...trashy, right?

i could write a song i guess.  maybe it will be a little eccentric because i Am tipsy.  buuut, not so in the mood.  i'm more in the mood to have another cran and vod and go dancing, but THAT's not going to happen.  wait...maybe it will.  maybe it just has to happen in my living room.

My FIRST placement on a television show EVER, my song 'Mine all Mine' is set to be played mid-show on CBS' "Moonlight" at 9PM this Friday, April 25th!!

I am told there is a small, tinsy chance that they could change it right before the episode broadcasts (not uncommon for TV shows so I hear...) but its unlikely...so watch the show and keep your ears listening for it!

And uh...well that's the good news! Don't miss it!

i'm moving to costa mesa. today. wish me good tidings.  of comfort and joy. and lets all hope i get into all the classes i have to crash... which is every class I attempted to sign up for.

you know what's the hardest part of moving? moving into a house with people i've only met like 2 times!! they're sweet though.  i'm just nervous.  it'll be ok.  it's the perfect situation, so...i'll adjust.  ok.  imma stop babbling.  love you.

ok so like on my purevolume (which you all should go to and become members of) i wrote an update of my musical life so i figured i should do the same over on this end.  well i'm just going to copy and paste because it would be tedious to write the same story twice just slightly different and in different places.  so here you go:

best thing to happen in the past month musically...
went to kauai on vacation/there was also a music festival going on that i got signed up for by my father.  so i went.  sent in 'our story' to the songwriting contest.  did not expect to get into the 6 finalists.  definitely did not expect to win (tie) 1st place with the incredible David Tamaoka.  this means i have a showcase with BMI.  quite neat actually.  if you don't know what BMI is, you should go check out this website: www.bmi.com .  so i gave myself a pat on the back and now am planning a West coast tour with Dave http://www.myspace.com/canefieldhero and his wife stephanie http://www.myspace.com/stephkawamura and a cool guy named Laine http://www.myspace.com/sendersound and my boy Jon E. from Our Life Aquarius  http://www.myspace.com/ourlifeaquarius .  it will be rad.  and if you go to school anywhere on the coast...when we come to your town ya'll best be seeing us!

in the meantime i will be meeting with some prof. music people...see what happens...
expect little and be surprised when the unexpected happens, no? thats my philosophy. 

as for the BMI showcase, as far as i know from this moment, it will be on march 5th of next year.  and you UCLA folks better pack the place. or just LA people.  (i will tell you where it is when i know exactly...but we have a while, capische?)

as for the rest of the tour...i'll get back to you when i know i'll be in your town.  don't you worry darlings.

so i played a show in a pub yesterday. o'connell's to be exact.  first show-show in a bar...and never again until i'm 21!!! unless they let me actually hang out before and after i play!  of course i'm not gonna drink, but must they make me wait outside in the cold dark parking lot until the second i'm supposed to go play and then afterwards i can't even sell cds or hang out and talk to anyone or anything.  nope.  i get kicked back out in the dirt.  LAME.  all just because the grand old US of A won't drop the drinking age (or bar entrance age) to 18 like every other country in the entire world.  psh.  we can play music in bars but we can't sit on a seat at and watch the music being played and we can join the army and kill enemies but we can't have a shot of whisky to numb the immorality of our actions.  BLAH! but i'm not mad.  just irritated.  but really i'm over it now.  i just had to vent.  have a lovily day!

just reminding ya'll that... well its a good thing i didn't completely  tell everybody i know that the 13th was next Friday and put "come to my show next Friday, April 13th" on everything i own.  SMARTIE right here! so next show is definitely NOT Friday the 13th! its THURSDAY the 13th.  i guess thats better though!  because i don't think a show on friday the 13th would be...well...whatever it would be it would not be good i'm guessing.  ok thats all!

sure, shoes untie, throats get sore, ya get dumped a couple times in your life or decide to cut your own hair and you were never really much of a 'talent' with scissors.  it happens.  yet somehow life still has those perfect moments when it all seems to just fit together like...like a sock on a foot.  the really stretchy kind that are good for tennis shoes...they just fit right.  and those moments are what keep people going sometimes... well i'm not just going, i'm thriving off them right now, and goodness gracious... i didn't have a gosh darn thing to do with any of it.  i think only God does these things.  um no, haha...i'm sorry, i KNOW only God does these things.  remember, everything God does is for the good? there ya go kids.  i am going to bask in my good 'luck' aka a very surprising and confusing and wonderful blessing that God stuck into my measly life this weekend.  rock on God! You're doing a fantastic job.  keep up the good work!
