Is my faith in vain? NO. And here's how I know why...

As some of you may or may not know, I recently spent 3 days in Redding, CA. for the JesusCulture conferences. It was life changing, to say the very least. But anyone could dismiss this common saying as merely a step beyond just mediocre. Believe me when I say life changing means it changed my life. I witnessed the supernatural in a very real and natural state, that which I've not seen in day-to-day life. Not when I was in the world, not any other time as powerfully as I did there. Is my faith in vain? I most assuredly can attest to the fact that is not. Here's how I know.

They gave an altar call for those needing prayer, and the speaker felt it on his heart to offer prayer for people with a leg shorter than the other. Weird, right? But, this is pretty common problem for a lot of people. Some not so severe, others more severe. There was a younger girl, probably mid teens, who came up during the call. The people needing prayer were asked to sit at the base of the stage, with their backs to the stage and their feet straight out in front of them. The people praying for them could genuinely see that one of their legs was shorter than the other.

This girl had a deformity in her hips and pelvis that caused one of her legs to be an inch and a half shorter than the other. The doctors wanted to break her hip and reconstruct it when she very young, but they would have to do it every year or something drastic like that. Her mother didn't want her to be in and out of a wheelchair all off her growing years, so she decided not to allow the procedures.

This had a devestating effect on the girl though, as her hip and pelvis deformed even more causing the inch and a half defect in her stance. It doesn't sound like much, but an inch and a half makes a huge difference when your legs need to be level. It can cause various degrees of pain and imbalance, at the very least. And she had suffered the pain of it all of her life.

But she had faith in a faithful God. Not the woman who chose to pray for her, not the speaker who gave the altar call. She knew in her heart the Lord Jesus Christ; the God of the Bible, was the only true God who is all powerful, and loving could heal her. She believed for it, her prayer leader believed for it and within a few moments of prayer the girl felt her hip and pelvis change. She felt a shift and a pop and saw a physical change with her own eyes, as well, and so did the prayer leader. To their astonishment, her deformity was absolutely 100% miraculously healed! Her leg lengthened the inch and a half to level her stance. This was one of many miraculous things I personally witnessed during the duration of the conferences.

This will never ever happen under any other name than Jesus Christ. Never. This, and be it for this reason alone, is why I know my faith is not in vain.

I want DIADEM to be ever evolving and updating for the better. What styles would you like to see in the future? Drop some feedback on me, as to anything related to the design aspect. Certain colors, cuts of shirts, certain hats, hand drawn, etc.

I want everyone to feel like this was made especially for them. Though I know it's hard, if not impossible to please everyone, I sure want to try. Without substituting or compromising my motive for this, which is to glorify the Lord, Jesus Christ. DIADEM began its existence as a Christ focused brand, and will end its existence as such.

So, please post some feedback! What direction do you want to see this go? Any and all ideas are welcomed to the table. I'll sort them out from there ;)

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for checking out my blog! I am going to get a few different kinds of hats, but I'm still on the fence about which styles to get. Obviously for the sake of fashion, I want to get what's fresh and still hot. So, here's what I was thinking:

Castro's, flat bills and truckers.

The Castro's I want to get won't be a solid color. They'll probably be a plaid or houndstooth or something like that. Diadem script on front side, Golgotha logo on back. Flexfit or fitted.

Probably gonna get black flat bills with the Golgotha logo in big white (or possibly gold?) puffy embroidery on the front right panel. Diadem script on back. Flexfit or fitted.

Black mesh trucker caps with white foam front panel. BIG black Golgotha logo coming out of the side of the front panel (so only 3/4 of the logo shows). Know what I mean? Snap enclosure. Truckers never go out. I wear mine almost every day. It's from my uncle's old tire shop in San Jose, that hasn't existed in probably 30 years. So, the hat's gotta be 10 years older than I am. Haha, I love it.

So, that's what I'm thinking... but what counts is what YOU think! So, post your thoughts, comments, critiques and suggestions! Thanks! Love you all in the Lord!

I don't know if this erks anyone else as much as it does me, but here comes a rant... kinda.

It's alarming to me when I see Christian kids or, worse yet, Christian bands promoting bands that are outwardly profane or professing blasphemous beliefs.

It's one thing to listen to secular music. There are a lot of  "good" secular artists out there that sing about life, love, loss and whatever else it is that motivates them to write a song about. Not pushing beliefs, not denigrating anyone or anything. Just being passionate about what's on their heart and mind.

I'm all for a broad spectrum of music. I listen to anything from trance/progressive/dance/ebm stuff to alt rock and metal to...oh no... some country?! Yeah, but not the redneck crap. This morning on my way to work I was rocking Eisley. Very light, pretty girl-vocal folksy type stuff. I'm mad eclectic. But there's a line I think that needs to be drawn at what kind of lyrical content you choose to indulge your listening in.

Like I said, I like metal. Not super super hard stuff, but I like some pretty heavy stuff. Some of it, be as it may,  is relatively unintelligable at times, but the motivation in the lyrics is still there. I feel it sinks in, even if you think you "just listen to the music, not the words". I've heard that one before, and I don't buy it. Music effects us. Music was meant to stimulate your senses, give you feeling, drive you to understand and relate with the song writer's motives, beliefs and feelings. Music is an expression of one's heart and soul, with an effort to draw you in so you can feel what they feel.

So, more to the point of this blog, it's disheartening to see Christian kids and bands wearing profane or outright blasphemous Satanic band shirts, and listening to that filth. It not only shows that they agree with and condone those beliefs, but it also shows that they promote it. If I don't want to be labeled as Satanist, I sure as heck am not not going to wear a shirt or listen to the message of devout Satanists. Here are some examples that blow my mind:

Nodes of Ranvier. They released "The Years To Come" on Facedown Records, a prominant Christian hardcore record label.

Note the Metallica shirt. For the sake of being real, I'll be straight up with you. The shirt says "metal up your a__". I don't know about you, but I know for a fact that kids look up to bands. I purchased my Nodes of Ranvier cd from Evangel, a very conservative, very contemporary Christian book and music store. Right on the shelf is NoR's cd with the above picture on the back of the cd case for all to see. Tasteless and stupid, or just a bad choice. At any rate, it erked me.

He Is Legend. On Solid State Records, another Christian label. This pic appeared in a sampler that Solid State put out.

Note the Morbid Angel shirt. It's got a stinkin' PENTAGRAM on it. How self defeating can you possibly get?

I just don't get it. Am I too discerning, or are they not discerning enough? The bible says what you partake of becomes you. I feel if we partake of evil things, we will reap evil things. I don't think it's right to promote something that goes against your belief system. What do you guys think?
