Current mood:honored
On the eve of our 10 Year Anniversary, AcoustiCafe was honored with a Proclamation by Pittsburgh City Council yesterday, which thanked it's members for good works in the city, assisting and promoting Pittsburgh musicians. And to celebrate our forthcoming "AcoustiCafe Live @ Club Cafe" compilation CD, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declared Friday, November 20th, "AcoustiCafe Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

AcoustiCafe is proud to announce our first local compilation CD, "AcoustiCafe Live @ Club Cafe". Recorded live at our Monday night open stage this past summer, the compilation showcases 18 of the finest independent singer-songwriters currently playing on the Pittsburgh scene. We'd like to thank everyone involved with this project, most notably ALL of the incredibly talented musicians and friends who make our Monday nights so special. Our only regret is that there are only 80 minutes on a CD...but then again, that's what Volume II is for. ;-)

Thanks for supporting local music!

AcoustiCafe LIVE at RMU

AcoustiCafe has partnered with Robert Morris University to present "AcoustiCafe LIVE from RoMo's Cafe." The weekly show, hosted by singer-songwriter J. Shields, is slated for Fridays from 5pm to 7pm in the RoMo Cafe, located in RMU's Nicholson Building, and will feature behind-the-music interviews and performances by select AcoustiCafe artists.

Kicking off Friday, Feb. 15th will be Joel Lindsey and Lauren "Shay" DeMichiei. The show will be broadcast live on RMU's new Internet radio station, which can be streamed from
www.RMUradio.com.

Shay is the former frontwoman for the popular band Lushwell, and now has a new project called Dawn Canon. London native Joel Lindsey is often compared to Stevie Wonder (?). He is one of the hosts of the AcoustiCafe Open Stage.

Local singer-songwriters interested in being considered for a future AcoustiCafe LIVE are encouraged to sign-up to perform at the AcoustiCafe Open Stage held every Monday at Club Cafe on the South Side.  AcoustiCafe LIVE at RoMo Cafe is for all ages, admission is free and the public is welcome.
