Is the opposite of "reckless" "reckful"?
Just wondering.

If you would like, the following link will take you to a sight where you can hear the sermon I preached this past Sunday. I'm also preaching this coming Sunday, but I don't think where I will be is all technologically hooked up. Have a great day!

So about a week ago, the kids were gone to my parents' house. Shawna and I actually had some time to spend together, so we decided to check out the Jersey shore. Everyone has been telling us so much great stuff about it, we thought we would really enjoy it. Until we got there.
The great state of New Jersey actually charges you money to step onto the beach. That's right. The ocean is not free. I don't know which is worse. The fact that you have to pay money to go on a beach, or that Jersey residents seem okay with it. "Oh, it's only a couple of bucks," is their excuse. Right. If we went back with our children, it would cost us $20. And it's not like the beach is all that great. We have been to beaches in Delaware, Maryland, and a bunch in Florida, and all of them are better than the one we went to.
So if any of you are considering a visit to the Jersey shore: DON'T!

Current mood: excited
This year, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day.I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.I've agreed to raise at least $2,200 in donations. I've set my personal goal at $4200. So I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation of $100? Keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train. You can give online at www.The3Day.org. Just follow the link below to visit my personal fundraising webpage and make a donation. You can also call 800.996.3DAY to donate over the phone. This year, I'm walking for my friend, Heather. Recently, she discovered a lump and it was found to be cancerous. She has already undergone surgery to remove the cancer and is now undergoing her chemo treatments. Among others, I am walking with her husband, Jeff. The two of them are the leaders of my Friday night small group. I am walking to support them and to help find a cure for this terrible disease. According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.Thank you in advance for your generosity! Sincerely,Paul Mathis P.S. Okay, so today was good. One bad, one good. Maybe I should stay in bed......
But seriously, though, thanks for all the comments. Mage, watch yourself. "You-Know-Who" is coming after you.

So I've been quiet for a while. And I must make a confession. I joined facebook. I don't know why. I gave in to peer pressure; more specifically, spouse pressure. It's weird, facebook is a lot easier to find people, but they don't have the cool blog or bulletin features that I really like here. But I did find a bunch of people I haven't talked to in a while.
Anyway, we went to Rochester a week or so ago. It was good to see people we had not seen in a while. It was also good to kind of renew my zeal for the time I need to spend with my first-name only friends.
This week was my last full week in dairy. Next week is, logically, my first full-week doing the MT stuff. Looking forward to it.
Well, I followed Queen's lead of being random while updating. Hope all are well.
Peace out.

We leave to go to Rochester on Monday. We are looking forward to this vacation. Unfortunately, we just learned some bad news. Our good friend, Norma, passed away suddenly on Wednesday (for more about that, go to my other blog: paulsjonah2song.blogspot.com). Norma and her husband, Rich, have been very good friends for several years. Norma was the church secretary for the last year or so of my time preaching in Rochester. And Rich was close in many ways. When my life was at the bottom, he introduced me to a new world, a new group of people that could relate and support me through my time of healing. I am sad for my friend. I was really looking forward to seeing him next week, now I have even more reason.

How’s it going? Computer issues. Less play time. Kids were gone. Now they’re back. Still in dairy until they get my replacement. Doing some new stuff. Training officially begins next week. Going to Rochester. 10 of my sweet 16 picks are still alive. How does a sucky singer like Christy Lee Cook survive this long on AI?
That is all.
