Yesterday as I was about to get into my car....I found 4 kittens. Today as I walked past a store in Whittier I saw a small box sitting next to the inside of a support beam at a mini mall...inside the box was 6 small kitten probably about 2 months old, very clean looking, very healthy.....why do people do this? I unfortunetly have allergies to cats and have a dog that it not very friendly with them...I kept the first four and the other batch I found were being attended to by a store owner after a few minutes of my spotting them...I need to find homes for these little guys...any suggestion? I know that so many animals need good home...it's hard to find anyone that will take them :(

As part of an activist group on Squidoo.com I was asked to start a virtual charity bake sale and see how much money we could raise. 100% of the sales go to the Squidoo Charity fund which consist of more than 65 charities some of which are The Acumen Fund, ASPCA, Children's Defense Fund, Animal Protection Inst., Chimp Haven, The Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation and the list goes on and on. I originally joined the website to promote causes, self promotion and hoping to make a bit of money through affiliate marketing and not be quite as broke hah. As I set up my first web page (they are called lenses) I was given the option to choose how much profit would be mine and if I wanted to give to charities..So I did and then I was asked to be a part of a small activist group to bring help to so many needy charities and I gladly accepted. The really cool part of this website for artist or charity promotion is that you can have as many web pages as you want to promote your cause or artwork etc and all using the same email address which is really nice. You can have a page for each individual causes or build a directory of pet rescues etc, you can choose from charities listed or promote your own. You can also add with the free tools on squidoo  - Amazon , Ebay, Adsense and Cafepress links to raise additional funds, it literally takes minutes to set up a page ...I have really fallen in love with the site and have made quite a few charity lenses at this point. If you join or contribute let me know I'd love to help promote your cause and if not just drop by and leave a note in my comment section and feel free to add links to charities that you know of that need help.

Zootoo.com

Your place to go for all things pet. Meet with fellow pet lovers, read the latest pet news, learn about new pet products and services and earn points good towards helping numerous pet-friendly initiatives.

The founders of Zootoo.com created the site with one goal in mind: "allow people to make the most informed decisions for their pets using information provided by real pet lovers like them." In other words, it's for pet lovers, by pet lovers.

Use Zootoo to share about products and services. Have an amazing experience at a local groomer? Spread the word so other owners can, too. Did your animal have a bad reaction to a commercial food? Let others know what to watch out for. You can also connect with other pet lovers and use pictures and videos to show off your best friends. The more active you are on the site (writing reviews, posting comments, uploading videos), the more points you earn. Not only do points improve your member status and showoff your pet expertise, but they can be donated to animal-friendly projects, too, like a shelter makeover. So you're helping yourself and the animals you love while you're at it.

Do your pets — and pets across the country — a big favor: share and learn on Zootoo.com.

One thousand pet lovers will look at your "dog" art, Saturday, October 13. Friends of Hermon Dog Park, L.A. City Councilmember Jose Huizar, and the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council are presenting the "Pet Adoption and Environmental Fair" in Hermon Park (5568 Via Marisol, 90042 - off the 110/Arroyo Seco Parkway), from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be dozens of animal rescue groups, all kinds of animal services -- from needs to "bling" -- environmental organizations, and YOUR art in a real live "dog" art show under the sycamores. Only $15 to show (for rental of a city-approved canopy). You'll also get an 8-foot table, two chairs, and entrance to the hospitality booth.

L.A. City Recreation & Parks charges a flat-rate $50 vendor fee ONLY if you sell a piece THAT day.

So, if you have art of any kind, related to dogs (or other pets), this is YOUR event!
