Current mood:  bullied
Well ladies and gentlemen It's been a while since I said anything outside of twitter, and if you listen very closely you can hear Twitter scolding me for being unfaithful at this very moment, however in my defense... twitter is a cruel and fickle mistress in it's own right with it's demands and rules and it's RT's, FF's and #'s so this was bound to happen and it's not like twitter put a ring on it, so yeah anyway...

Here is some information on the Record/Records I'm working on. First is my solo Project/ next full length. It is shaping very nicely, Yes but it's also taking me a long time as I've thrown away a lot of crutches that I would normally go to in my music making process for instance instead of using snare drums on this record I will be using a turkey sandwich. I kid, I kid everyone knows that Rubens are my shit! Anyway I'm about half way through at this point and hopefully I can have it getting it's tie straight by early 0-10  (0 10) whats that even mean? am I in a slump? there's no 0 10 of anything time wise.

I feel like some kind of calendar should have ended by now and Alien God Monster light should have hit us with a tar covered asteroid by now you know? How much freakin longer do I have to be here? Am I ranting? sorry back to the MUSICS!

You will get a taste of how my sound is changing or staying the same in september with the release of DEFJUX presents 4. I made a song called Domestic Animals for it that likens society to wild kingdom with all of your favorite predators included with the main focal point being dogs, because that is what men are... right ladies? Ladies? Oh I forgot I have no female fans. Well my mom likes me, but she doesn't count! It's a groovy Lil number and was originally going to be on the new one but now it's not, so make sure you buy DJX 4 its a solid project that includes all the gang

Segue alert!

Also on DJX 4 is the first song From Hail Mary Mallon the group project I'm working on with Aesop Rock and DJ Big Wiz it's called D-up and is Produced By Aes who is so good at beat making at this point that when I see him I pee a little out of fear. Basically the title says it all D-up motherfuckers D-up! we are still hammering out how much we are going to be able to get done in a reasonable amount of time but you'll get at least an e.p to throw into your Ipods some time in the near future. Me and Aes have a good sound going on between us and this is probably the funnest thing I've ever worked on outside of my famed beer/food belly.

As far as other works go I am working on stuff with a few cats out there both production and the raps which should star trickling down the vein soonage so keep an eye out.

As a customary gesture on my planet, Planet Bronx.

I will give you the title of my next record in 1...2...

BLOOD ALLEY

the story behind the title is steeped in the history of new york in the first part of the 1900's. It was basically a long asses line of slaughter houses on Manhattan's east side and also where my Great Aunt lived and where out of her window my great uncle Eugene Gardner painted pictures of a certain building being built in the distance that building is the U.N. is completely changed the landscape in and around the Tudor apartments. I used to look at these pictures and think man one day I will live there. Alas no one lives in the U.N building but how was I suppose to know? What do i look like a diplomat? fuckoutta heaaa

Best and I hope your well Bobby Freedom

For those of you inquiring, Yes, I have fallen off the face of the planet, Thank god I have curly reboundy hair and life alert.

I am working on two records, My next Solo and the project with Aesop. I will be hitting you good folk up with some treats here soon. Unforunatley I will not hurt um nor am I hammer. I have also decided that I will be realeasing my next record free to anyone who pays me money for it first.

I am working on a new website set for launch in the summer, I also may go swimming in summer If I do, I will tell you where so you can confirm that if you smoke weed and swim it is not news, Michael Phelps. Now if I smoke weed and drown or get axe murderd while swimming then yes it would be news everyone at camp crystal lake.

I hope everyone is doing well and please continue to support and seek out the music that you love because it needs you as much as you need it.

Be Good. Bobby Freedom.

Best R.

What’s going on with you these days Mr. Sonic?

Not much really I’ve been on the road a lot until now so I’m finally getting back into studio mode which means an unfortunate amount of sitting alone, looking at various screens. Computer screens, MPC screens, Window Screens, Screening calls, Screens that go in Pipes all types of screens, basically.

I saw you at trans-musicals by your self a few years back and then with Aesop in London last year, both were very different shows. Can you tell me the difference in going from your own shows and then to touring with someone in a sort of back up role as opposed to your own set.

Well basically it’s just the preparation that’s the difference. With Aes the majority of the people are there to see him or “us” not me so it’s important that there is chemistry that’s maintained so that the entire show jells and comes off fluid. You don’t want people feeling like what the fuck! That guy is totally mucking up my Aesop experience or what have you.

It’s more work in that respect but essentially is an easier show if that makes any sense? Ultimately when it’s just you, it’s just you. It really helps when your voice is shot or you’re tired, an hour of rapping by yourself can get pretty taxing believe it or not.

Surely there are a lot of people there to see you as well when your with Aesop Rock. Do you ever get people less than pleased that you’re not doing your own set? I for one thought you were opening the night London.....

No if it’s booked correctly there should be no confusion about that, Sorry? Ha

You’re a pretty big guy not unlike myself and I remember a very inebriated Fan jumping on stage during the London show and thinking what I would do if that happened. Do you guys ever get into scuffles over that stuff?

No for the most part it doesn’t get to that point… sometimes people get unruly and you kind of have to expect that it may get ugly but no I usually just say “get off of here man we are working”. I don’t remember that guy but it happens a lot with our shows. I don’t really know why, I guess people just get into it and want to be part of it.

Half the time they don’t know why either, it’s a deer in head lights thing, like look it might seem like a good idea before you jump into some ones show but its not.

So let’s talk about your music for those that don’t know, Telicatessen and Sabotage Gi’gante had very heavy political almost Anti-American undertones to them. How do you feel about the upcoming election and how the outcome might change that running theme and your music in general?

You know what? I’m surprised I haven’t been asked about this more or at all for that matter. First off I never really said anything “Anti-American” I do use the general climate of the place I live as my focal point in my writing and I live in America and it’s been steadily getting harder to live in America so I guess that’s what people get out of my records. I love this country but I just may not be able to relate to the people running it.

As for the upcoming election I’m kind of scared and excited. I hope that we’ve had enough of the Bush’s and Cheney’s and at that there are enough of us out there that at the very least see a change as a step in the right direction. That said I’m not sure it’s going to happen. I’m a little bit disillusioned at this point and not sure if Obama will win but if he does I’ll feel like we got something going on.

That said I would not want that Job… Our economy is dead, ....Iraq.... seems like it’s there for ever. It’s not going to be easy for who ever wins really. I guess I kind of feel like we are The Exxon Valdese, we already wrecked and it’s going to take a long time to clean it up. Oh and oil has a lot to do with it.

My music is undergoing a change but it really has very little to do with that I’ve learned a lot since my last record with close to hundred shows in a year and half under my belt and am always trying to be progressive with it so I’m sure its going to evolve.

I am by no means living an easy life so I’m sure my music will reflect that, which is kind of what I always felt people might have confused with the heavy political undertones but I am taking a much broader approach to my next record.

And when we might hear it?

I’m only 2 or 3 songs in so not for a while but what I have been working on will be worth it you’ll just have to trust me.

And it’ll be Def Jux?

I’m not sure, I have to talk to them, they have a lot on their plate coming up and I’m not that far in to mine yet but that’s my people so we are always in touch and if everybody’s happy then everybody’s happy.

What’s your favorite shoe?

Actually I’m a Nike guy but I’ve been Rock E’ S skate shoes a ton lately they are comfortable as hell and fly too.

Whose music are you feeling right now?

Hmm, Cage’s new shit. Kanye’s record seems cool, oh and this project Aes and I are working on called, “Hail Mary Mallon” ha ha

Can you tell us about this project?....

Not really. But it’s good ha ha, sorry basically we’ve been talking about working on something for a long time and we finally started it.

That sounds interesting, anything else you’d like let us in on?

No that’s about it; I’ll see you out on the road and keep an eye/ear out for details on my musics as they develop, be safe and thank you.

Cheers.

Hey everyone, so Me, Aes, and Wiz have finished up the final leg of touring and Im back home... well not really...I'm on Aes's couch but that's like home, "if my home was someones couch" this couch is really cool though you know? It's stylish, its got ample room and could accomodate a large group of people with out sacrificing comfort.

I think the thing I like most about this couch is that its very unassuming for instance it doesn't insist you to sit on it like it's shiny leather contemporary's, oh no! It simply says you may want to sit on me and when you do you will be graciously rewarded for your decision.

This couch has seen a great deal of me over the last year plus, with all the touring and sleeping and what have you and I'd just like to say thank you Aes couch, thank you very much

And thanks to all of you folk out there for making this last tour and all the tours we've done this last year A-fucking-mazing...

I'm working on records for a while so I'll see you guys later.

Make some noise for yourselves party people, and know that Bobby Freedom has your back. Always.
