2008 was a great year for Come Strut Your Stuff at The Egg Cafe, and 2009 seems set to be just as good.
We're regularly filling our three sets by 7.45pm which means that people arriving after this time and wanting to perform have normally been disappointed. The moral of the story is - get there early, claim a seat, put your name down to perform, and have something to eat while you're waiting.
The temporary use of a different guest co-host each month since the loss of Nick Payne as co-host last year has been a great success. It's really good to see some of our regular performers being given the chance to introduce the poets and musicians in their own way.
Here's to a great 2009,
Graham

Thanks to Tony Kehoe who stepped in at the last minute and hosted October's Come Strut Your Stuff all by himself.I'm back for the festivities on Monday 3rd November when the guest co-host will be Dave O'Connor. It's going to be great, and there's no excuse for missing it this year because it doesn't clash with Bonfire Night!Full details available, as always, from www.comestrutyourstuff.co.ukGraham

Our next Come Strut Your Stuff is on Monday 4th August.
This will be the first 'Egg' since 2004 without Nick Payne who is stepping down from his hosting role at Come Strut Your Stuff. Nick has been performing at the Egg for many years, and when I left Liverpool in 2004 to spend a year in Taiwan Nick filled the gap and co-hosted with Pat and Beryl. When I returned to Liverpool Pat and Beryl left due to health reasons and Nick continued co-hosting with me.
I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Nick for the last 4 years, and the last 3 years hosting with me. He brought his own inimitable sense of humour to his role as co-host which will be missed. I'd like to wish Nick all the best for his future ventures, including his band Tiger Lily, and hope to see him strutting his stuff at The Egg Cafe in the future.
And in other news... We've had lots of people recently unable to perform because they didn't get themselves onto the set list in time. We start at 8pm prompt and the chances are that anyone arriving after this time will be too late.
Hope to see you on Monday!
Graham

Yes, folks, it's that time of the month again. The first Monday of the month (that's Monday 1st October, if you didn't know) means it's time to Come Strut Your Stuff at Liverpool's fabulous Egg Cafe.
There's open floor poetry and acoustic music, although if previous nights are anythining to go by there could also be some standup or some prose too!
The whole thing kicks off at 8pm, although if you're a performer and you want a chair and a place on the running order it's recommended that you get there earlier to avoid disappointment.
