Yes, it took a while, but it's finally up. Check it out:
Sunday, July 26, 2009

It's been pretty quiet from camp VAKA lately, so, an update to let you know what's going on. All five of you.

First,
I've had the question regarding live shows asked several times so I should probably explain this lack-there-of.
At this point in time it's just not possible. The people I would wanna use are spread out all over Sweden
and just getting a rehearsal together would be a logistical nightmare.
Maybe sometime in the future, who knows.

Second,
As you may or may not know, I haven't been completely slagging off since the release of "Kappa Delta Phi".
I've kept busy doing engineer work, recording & mixing albums by DOZER ("Beyond Colossal"),
SWITCHBLADE ("Switchblade [2009]") and KAUSAL ("In Dead Cities").
The DOZER album is out now, SWITCHBLADE will be on 09/09/09 and KAUSAL sometime this fall. Check 'em out.
If you're interested in hiring me for engineer work just visit my engineer profile here on MySpace and send me a message.

Also, I've contributed drums for the entire upcoming album "Zenith" by duo A SWARM OF THE SUN.
If you think A SWARM OF THE SUN sounds familiar, it's because it probably is. Erik Nilsson of ASOTS fame is the gentleman
who did most guitar work for "Kappa Delta Phi" and who will, with 99.9% certainty, do most VAKA guitars in the future as well.

Third,
New VAKA material is in the process of being written. It's in the very early stages so it's gonna take a long time
before it's even ready to demo, so don't hold your breath just yet.
And who knows, I might not even be that happy with how it turns out, in which case it's gonna take even longer.

That is all.

(Or well, yesterday)

That's right kids, "Kappa Delta Phi" is now (or atleast, should be) available worldwide, however I admit that scoring a copy if you're in the jungle of the Congo might be tricky.
For this I highly recommend you order a copy straight from Vaka HQ for an outlandishly low price of $14 including shipping worldwide.

But that's not all. For all you ultra-hip kids out there, "Kappa Delta Phi" is now also available for purchase and direct download via basically all major retailers such as iTunes, eMusic, Amazon, etc.

So make haste and go shop! Daddy needs a new pair of pants (I really do actually)!

A great review of "Kappa Delta Phi" (9/10) has been posted over @ DisAgreement Online.
http://www.disagreement.net/reviews/vaka_kappadeltaphi.html

"There is only so much you can do nowadays to add new impulses to post metal, but Karl Daniel Lidén, who has been playing in various Swedish bands since the mid-Nineties, may just be the man to revitalise the genre."

"They take a genre which lately has been trod to death and invigorate it with new ideas from times past."

That's right peeps, today is the official street date of "Kappa Delta Phi", so swing by your favorite cool record store (note that the store does not count as "cool" if they haven't got KDP in stock - this is important) and pick up a copy!
The music's swingin' and the 6 panel digipak is also swingin' - it's all good, baby.

Please note that the album is still available directly from Vaka headquarters for $14 USD including shipping worldwide.

YES. IT IS HERE. FINALLY.
The VAKA debut album - "Kappa Delta Phi" is now up for sale and immediate delivery.
The album is presented in a 6-panel digipak, and honestly, it looks fucking spectacular.

The album features 10 tracks of aural bliss and a schmoergasbord of guest performances
from folks in bands such as DOZER, LOWRIDER / I ARE DROID, A SWARM OF THE SUN,
COME SLEEP, GHOST BRIGADE / SUNRIDE, PAATOS / MORTE MACABRE / LANDBERK, etc.

The official street date isn't until January 12th/13th 2009, but you can snag a copy
for yourself right now. Isn't that just swell?!
The price is a measily $14 USD and that includes shipping worldwide.

You can order either right here on MySpace or the vakamusic.net store.
