Here are some opinions of our official No Wack DJs members:
DJ Cash Money (legendary Turntablist / Technics Hall of Fame / Philly):
"I support this campaign because it is bringing attention to dj's that have no skills but get hired because they are affiliated with a popular artist...I'm not hating on anybody. Us dj's have worked so hard on our craft. We have put the work in...It's not right that you see somebody on prime time tv fronting like they are me..They have no skills at all. All they do is just press a button on a cd player..That is Wack to me!!! If i'm on stage with them, i make it a point to BUST THEIR ASS!!!!! If you use Serato,Final Scratch,Traktor,Cd's,Vinyl it doesn't matter. Just have some type of skills. GrandMaster Flash started all of us off with this turntable stuff. Let's continue tradition and make him proud!!!! Aight!!!!"
DJ SAY-G (International Club/TV DJ, MWC Ent, NYC, Germany):
"This is truly needed. Too many club promoters and owners do not recognize the difference between a DJ and a person, who plays records. Never heard about crowd control, turntable skills, passion, atmosphere sovereignty, song selection flair and all what makes up the important difference. Once this movement has reached a major recognition among those people, we can be proud of having brought back the values, which initially created this lifestyle. I have traveled several places of this world and seen too many "press play to start playlist jukeboxes" acting like being DJs. This is a musical curse to my ears and a slap to all real DJs putting hard work and love into becoming what they are. Nevertheless, there are still many DJs, who have earned this title, which should be protected legally, such as the title "doctor"..." read more at our blog ( www.myspace.com/nowackdjs ) We are growing hour by hour and our exclusive "No Wack DJs" team includes TOP DJs of the industry, growing in quality! One by one...
DJ RIZ (Crooklyn Clan, NYC) DJ Cash Money (legendary turntablist, Philly) DJ Chubby Chub (Heavy Hitters, Radio personality) DJ KOOL ("Let me clear my throat", Washington D.C) DJ GI (Bobby Valentino's DJ, NYC) DJ SAY-G (International Club/TV DJ, MWC Ent, Germany) DJ Dru Nyce (So So Def DJ, Syndicated Radio, Hitz103, Boston) DJ Eddie One (Heavy Hitter, KXOL Latino 96.3 FM, LA) DJ Epps (Shadyville DJ, G-Unit Rep, 103.5 The Beat, Miami) ...

--------------------- THIS IS WHAT THE CAMPAIGN IS ALL ABOUT ---------------------
How often do you enter a club and have a "DJ" ruining your night? How often are you trying to dance through your night and have a "DJ" fading songs out without mixing, or even worse, not knowing how to handle his job properly? How often do you listen to a radio "DJ", who is not more than a jukebox?
This is a campaign to remind the Movers and Shakers of the Industry that a DJ is a key success factor in any nightlife activity, who has to be chosen carefully !!! It is a campaign against the "the listeners won't distinguish anyway" approach! It is a campaign bringing back the pride of having booked a DJ, who uses turntables as instruments, lives a DJ lifestyle and has invested time and passion to become one! Our movement "No Wack DJs" is based on several years of experience in the nightlife sector and endless supporting opinions in numerous countries of the world.
One thing became clear at the end of the day: "Skills" have lost the war against "Business and Connections" so far…
However, there are still excellent DJs, Radio Stations and Clubs, who have recognized the value of a good DJ and his/her ability to break records and satisfy his/her crowd… Don't forget: If you want a good DJ, you have to pay like you want a good DJ !!!

DJ Drama: Mixtapes are already watered down. Mixtapes are a dime a dozen, everyone thinks they can do it. I'm just always one to discard what I don't like, and I applaud what I do like. I don't think that there's that much of an extreme of major labels and mixtapes that it's come to a watered down point. I think the mixtape game in itself, and people not being authentic DJs making mixtapes waters that down more than anything.
HipHopCrack: Elaborate on that a little bit.
DJ Drama: People think just because you can get on the Internet and get some songs and get a cover made and put it together, that it's a mixtape and you're a DJ, and that's not the case. I thank God that I was raised on the mixtapes and DJs that I was raised on. I come from the era of S&S, Ron G, Doo Wop, Clue...people have said that Clue changed the game for the worst, but he had his own lane, and that's why he is who he is today—he rode his lane and he followed his niche. I don't think there's enough DJs that respect the culture or take a pride and passion in the art of the mixtape. That goes in from the packaging level, to the quality of the CD, the skill on the CD, the mic game, the exclusiveness. I don't put mixtapes out just cuz; I have a purpose out there. There's an elite group of others out there doing what I do, and there are some new jacks coming up as always. I still think there's some good in it, but just like everything else in hip-hop—just like everyone thinks they're a rapper, or everyone thinks they can make their own label, everyone wants a mixtape.
