"A very strange fellow from the deep end of the Brooklyn pool... Don't be caught off guard." Joe Ahearn: Rats of Nimh

"Ric Leichtung combines the acoustic brattiness of the Violent Femmes with the spontaneous Looney Tunes screech of Mike Patton or the Boredom's Yamantaka Eye. At times it sounds as if someone is using a hot poker to help him emphasize certain words and phrases. There's a striking amount of diversity in Leichtung's writing, and songs like "Woo Pt 5" suggest a writer who as absorbed old Frank Sinatra records with the same enthusiasm that he has "orion animal women." Ben Krieger: Jezebel Music

"Ric Leichtung began the evening with awkward banter about cannibalism (if it was freezer packed and anonymous, maybe human would make you hungry?) and quick-fire guitar and bleating vocals that seemed somewhat reminiscent of Dave Longstreth, if the Dirty Projector smoked whiskey-laced tobacco sticks and howled at the moon more often." Jeremy K/Nate Dorr: Impose Magazine

"Ric Leichtung's (pictured) sound is shocking. His unique combination of seemingly a-rhythmic guitar swats and guttural vocal yelps is a recipe for casual-listener confusion. Dig a little deeper though and you'll find some bitingly honest lyrics ("I can't have a decent conversation with anyone I know") and a sense of "don't tell me what to do" fearlessness. Check out "O Lightning" for a pretty break from his otherwise "pretty is boring" catalog. Who wants casual listeners anyway?" Jay Hammond: Jezebel Music
