Get Your Foot In The Door Becoming an accomplished writer with a portfolio; is this what you are after let allow us to give you a bit of in site into what a writer for our publication would be like.
The reality of it all is that being a writer or blog writer is a task that requires time now this is not to try to push you away or to discourage you from becoming an applicant or applying; however it is important for you to understand that this no only takes the time, but the passion and drive considering that as a writer for our publication you will be contributing on a regular basis. So if you feel that this is not for you then allow us to thank you for taking the time to look into this opportunity.
So we've caught your attention then have we; well that is wonderful because we are always looking for talented individuals who enjoy the industry just as much as we do. Having said this we feel that it is important to not only interact with our current community members but also to attract new community members to interact with. Rather you share your thoughts with the current amazing members but what better way to attract attention to your work than self promotion. As it is our goal to promote up coming talent such as your-self and bring the masses to our site that is passionate, innovative and truly geeky.
Note- because we are a self funded site we are not at this time able to pay our staff members; therefore our staff members work for Chick Gaming Ezine because they are passionate and love the video game industry just as much as the founding team members.
The Application

The area of which you want to mainly write (however you are able to write for more than one area)
And let’s not forget your references of which includes the following: two samples of your work in text format.
1. Resume: work history, education, skills, etc.
2. Photos: at least 2 photos that show who you are as a person (this can be a simple snap shot or something a bit more in-depth).
4. VIDEO: This is a new requirement that we have added because we feel that it is important to understand who you are as a personality after that is exactly what you will become as a Chick Ezine team member.
a. Videos should be at least 1 minute 30 seconds long
b. Please submit videos in one of the following formats: .mov, .wmv, or .avi

More about the job Chick Ezine team members are volunteer employees within CGM based out of Colorado (applicants can be from anywhere in the US; no relocation is necessary). The job requires anywhere any where from a hour to two hours a week.
The main part of the job can be done from the comfort of your home or where every you prefer to work from; however if you are interested in attending events this is considered to be totally option. As Chick Gaming Ezine is a completely self funded online Ezine - (what this means is that we can not afford to pay you hence the title Volunteer Staff).
So you are probally wondering what the industry schedule is like well here is a rund down: (the busy season is roughly from June through November) & (the slow season is roughly from January through April).
Chick Ezine Team members are what we call Chick Ezine Personalities as such you will meet individuals from all walks of life across the nation and all over the gaming industry, from other communities including our own as well as other press and media individuals. As a correspondent for Chick Gaming Ezine you may have the opportunity to work in various industry capacities while working with our company including but not limited to the following: marketing, public relations, even the opportunity to test video games that you might not other wise have the chance to do. It is our philosophy that anyone would consider this to be a great opportunity as welll as a great position for any dedicated gamer male or female to get their foot into the door of our beloved industry on a more professional level.
Responsibilities include:
• representing Chick Ezine at industry events
• maintaining and growing Chick Ezine community through online forums and Xbox Live gaming events
• writing weekly blogs with a requirement of 2 articles per week
• creating monthly video blogs (this is a new feature that we are adding as away for the community at large to get to know who the personalities are at Chick Gaming Ezine.)
• conducting on-camera interviews (this will be done via our up and coming video hosting)
Chick Ezine Team Member candidates will have the following qualities:
• passion for games and gamer geek culture
• good social attitude
• be able to speak well in front of people and via web-cam
• experience writing blogs, game reviews, or other published works
• professionalism
• strong organizational skills
• self-starter’s motivation and initiative
