RYYP:

*What's the name of your band? What's the origin of that name? Have you changed the band's name before?

For those of you who don't know...we are Americult. It's a combination of the words " America " and "cult"... the meaning behind it should be self-explanatory.

An earlier incarnation was called Leading the Blind.

----

RYYP:

*Please list the name, age, school, and respective instrument of each band member.

Adam Martinez - guitars, 20

Stephen Moore - bass, 21

Mark Morin - vocals, 21

Joseph "Spider" Staley - Drums, 23

----

RYYP:

*What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

We'd probably be placed somewhere between hard rock and metal, but we're always open to experimentation. Influences on our sound are bands like Mudvayne, System of a Down, Nothingface, American Head Charge, Slaves on Dope, Killswitch Engage, The Dillinger Escape Plan...those are just a few. We're all open-minded towards many other genres of music as well, but those mentioned are simply the bands have had the most impact on our style so far.

----

RYYP:

*How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

Well, we've been a band for about 5 years now, and we've known each other a few months longer, but we pretty much met in high school and became friends on the basis of forming a band together. Adam and Stephen have known each other and been jamming together since middle school.

----

RYYP:

*When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

Americult was formed in August of 2003. We all listened to similar music so it just made sense for us to make music together.

----

RYYP:

*Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?

No record label for right now. We've been managing ourselves since day 1. So far we've recorded two demos and we're currently in the process of recording our full-length debut. We're going to continue with our "do-it-yourself" style until we get a good offer from a label, but we're not just going to take the first offer we get.

----

RYYP:

*What can you tell me about your instruments? (i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you

play with whatever's available? What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a style/model/brand/color preference?

We prefer to use good quality instruments, but I should mention that we base that on our own standards. Cost doesn't make a difference. What really matters is if we feel comfortable with our instruments. Although, we did have to save up quite a bit for the instruments we have right now.

----

RYYP:

*Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

We're from San Antonio , so we've pretty much played all the venues there. We've also played various shows in Austin , Corpus Christi , and Beeville (with our bros in Seed). We don't really have a least favorite venue...it wouldn't really be worth mentioning anyway. There are a few upcoming shows:

Nov.15th in Victoria , TX at Fanelli's

Nov.24th in San Antonio , TX at the White Rabbit.

...and more than likely we'll be playing this year's Holiday Havoc show in San Antonio . Last year we had a blast...there were somewhere around 30 bands, three stages, and wrestling. Good stuff.

----

RYYP:

*Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?

We usually play "Social Darwinism", "Panacea", "The Sacerdotalist", and the fan favorite "Nothing". Occasionally we'll cover Sepultura's "Attitude", System of a Down's "Suite-Pee", and Killswitch Engage's "Life to Lifeless". Our play list usually changes with each show.

----

RYYP:

*Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

The lyrical content is written primarily by Mark. Adam, Stephen, and Spider write the music.

The main themes of our songs deal with the many aspects of a dysfunctional society. This is also part of the reason why we chose our band name.

----

RYYP:

*Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

It varies. Some songs begin with one riff and we feel it out as a band. Others are written entirely by one or more of us before being brought into the rehearsal space. Different methods produce different results.

----

RYYP:

*What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?

We used to have set days and times for practice each week, but it has become more spontaneous. This is mostly because the "set" way became very routine and felt more forced than anything...forcing creativity is certainly not the right approach to take when writing.

----

RYYP:

*How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

There has definitely been a lot more focus on intricacy and detail. We like to throw in little things here and there without overdoing anything in particular.

----

RYYP:

*What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

Our biggest challenge has always been the fact that we were young and broke. We're still young, but at least we all have jobs and we're able to invest money into this band now.

----

RYYP:

*What's your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

Ultimately we just want to make music that we want to hear, but of course it's great to reach as many people as possible...so that's exactly what we're trying to do. Fame and fortune? Well sometimes its cool when people recognize you because you're in a band, and it would be nice to make a good amount of money off of your talents, but we would be content simply being able to make a decent living playing music.

----

RYYP:

*What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

DON'T DO IT!!!

Hahaha.... seriously though, just be prepared.

There's a lot of bullshit and drama that comes along with this life style. We've been screwed over quite a bit already, and we've each been through hell in our relationships...

But if you love music enough, you'll do it. But more than likely you won't be living a "normal life". It's kinda hard to mix the two.

----

RYYP:

*How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?

The best way would be to go to our shows, we usually hand out demos. Another way is through myspace (myspace.com/americult) and/or youtube.

Just google Americult...you'll find what you're for.

----

RYYP:

*Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?

Everyone who has ever been present at any of our shows. Thank you! Without you, we wouldn't have a reason to continue doing what we do.

----

RYYP:

*Any last words?

Support your local bands! Every band has to start somewhere, and when they make it big, they're always going to remember those people who were there showing their support from the very beginning.

----

RYYP:

*Thank You

*What's the name of your band? What's the origin of that name? Have you changed the band's name before?

The Closure:
*Our band name is The Closure and the origins of the name are pretty simple really. The former vocalist was sitting around with our drummer and while they were thinking of what they should call the band, he came up with the Closure. At the moment it had no meaning but as we continue this journey it becomes more to us. We haven't changed the name since.

RYYP:
*Please list the name, age, school, and respective instrument of each band member.

The Closure:
*John our drummer is 17 and is a Senior at Nixa High School in Nixa, Missouri. Kenney our guitarist is 17 and a recent graduate of Hillcrest High School in Springfield Missouri. Casey our other guitarist is 18 and is a recent graduate of Glendale High School in Springfield Missouri. Jordan our bassist is 18 and is also a recent graduate of New Covenant Christian Academy in Springfield Missouri. Jacob our vocalist is 20 and is a current student at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield Missouri.

RYYP:
*What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

The Closure:
*We would consider our music to be between the origins of melodic metal, mixed with some hardcore influences here and there. We are highly influenced by so many bands but mainly Beloved, Misery Signals, Comeback Kid, Thrice, Life In Your Way, Means and many more amazing individuals!

RYYP:
*How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

The Closure:
*We've known each other for the past 3 or 4 years. We all met through other music projects and through different friendships. Kenny and Jordan have been best friends forever, haha.

RYYP:
*When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

The Closure:
*The band formed around 3 years ago in the summer right after we had all seen Underoath, haha. It sounds cheezy but it's the honest truth. We all wanted to be apart of the music scene in one way or another and we decided to put our talents to use. I'm sure a ton of bands were formed during the "Their Only Chasing Safety" days, haha.

RYYP:
*Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?

The Closure:
*We are currently unsigned and have no endorsements by any type of music company. We are working to change that in the near future.

RYYP:
*What can you tell me about your instruments? (i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you play with whatever's available? What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a style/model/brand/color preference?

The Closure:
*We are all very proud of our gear and have worked hard to accomplish our ownership of it. We go with whatever sounds the best and works the best with our style as musicians and as individuals. Money does play a key part in what we do purchase but in the long run, you do need to make a few expensive investments.

RYYP:
*Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

The Closure:
*We have performed mainly throughout our own state and we have only recently started to venture into other states, Arkansas being the only so far. We love playing the Foundry in Joplin Missouri. It is the best of the best, great people running it, and great kids coming out, we've always had a blast there and highly recommend it! Our least favorite place would probably be Nathan P. Murphy's here in Springfield, but that is mainly because of the promoter, haha. Our next show is going to be in our hometown to help raise money for our upcoming tour. And from there it's Cornerstone!

RYYP:
*Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?

The Closure:
*We perform every song on our new Cd entitled Faces, except for the second song (For The Taking). We replace it with an old song entitled The Wedding. We haven't covered a song in about two years but when we did we covered "Death To Traitors" by Beloved. Some kids still expect us to play it, haha. Our set does seem to follow the same trend for the most part, there are times where we switch it up and with us writing some new material, it should be changing within the near future.

RYYP:
*Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

The Closure:
*Musically Kenny, Casey, John and Jordan all play a part and come together to get things rolling. Lyrically we have all put down our own thoughts and feelings into our songs and have meshed them together. The main theme is that of hope and that there is always more to life than what we could ever imagine. We want our lyrics to have a positive impact on those who do take the time to read them and we hope that that impact never changes.

RYYP:
*Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

The Closure:
*For us our music making process goes as follows: Kenny and Casey will take some time alone and begin writing and then come to each other and share their material. Then they will get with John who will then work out the beats of course and then Jordan comes in with the base. Jacob works out the vocals once the song has been complete by everyone else.

RYYP:
*What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?

The Closure:
*Unfortunately we are very spontaneous with where and when we practice. It is very hard with the way that we all work and have school but we do have some set mornings that we can practice at church or in our friend Adams garage. Noise ordinances prevented us from practicing at our own houses, haha.

RYYP:
*How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

The Closure:
*When we first started we had a very typical sound and kinda floated around with what was popular at the time. Now that we are older and more mature as musicians we are bringing in our own styles and ambitions for our music and the style that we hope to bring to it. We are becoming more original I guess would be the words.

RYYP:
*What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

The Closure:
*Our biggest challenge as a band would have to be the matter of producing music that will continue to touch lives no matter the time or the place. It's hard to reach out to each and every individual but we want to put forth that effort. I would like to say that we have overcome that challenge but I can never be sure, I don't want to sound prideful and say yes, so hopefully when we meet you and you hear us, you can decide:)

RYYP:
*What's your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

The Closure:
*Our ultimate goal as a band is to make a lasting impact in the lives of those that we come into contact with. Whether we meet them or not, we just want kids to know that there is a hope in this world. Sure fame and a little money would be great but it is not our first priority by any means.

RYYP:
*What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

The Closure:
*If you begin your own band, just believe in yourself and don't let others bog you down. It takes time to become what you want to be, so continue to practice whatever it is that you are doing and you will reach that goal.

RYYP:
*How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?

The Closure:
*All of our music is currently on our Myspace page (myspace. com/theclosure). We also have some shirts and a hard copy of our Cd for sale on that page as well. Our music just hit iTunes so we will be available worldwide to anyone and everyone who enjoys what we are doing.

RYYP:
*Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?

The Closure:
*Our family and friends all of the way. They are the ones who have constantly been there for us through thick and thing and if it wasn't for their constant love and support, none of this would be possible. And above all, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ for his constant blessings and guidance of us as musicians and as individuals. To him be all of the glory!

RYYP:
*Any last words?

The Closure:
*We hope to meet you all soon and we cannot wait to get out on the road. We love meeting new people so feel free to drop us a line through our myspace or just head out to one of our shows if we are ever in your area. We love you all!

RYYP:
*Thank You Guys Will See You Soon!!

RYYP 1:
*What's the name of your band? What's the origin of that name? Have you changed the band's name before?

AMENDMENT:
I'm Robert, vocalist, and We're Amendment, uhh, the word Amendment basically means a change for the better, and considering we're all of Christian faith, Christ in our lives has been just that, a change for the better. And no, we haven't had any name changes yet.

RYYP 2:
*Please list the website or myspace site you would like to provide to fans or persons in order to find you.

AMENDMENT:
www. myspace. com/amendmentofficial

RYYP 3:
*What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

AMENDMENT:
Well, what's on our page right now isn't what we sound like, those recordings are ancient, but I'd say we're a couple of styles. But to give it a name, I'd say Death Metal/Hardcore?...

Musically, we just try to be our own favorite band. Writing music we'd like to hear.

RYYP 4:
*How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

AMENDMENT:
Wow, I've known Danny (Drums) for about 6/7 years since I was 12, Giovanni and Ivan (Guitars) 5/6 years and Luismi (bass) for about 3 years.

I went to school with Danny and I skateboarded and lived next to Giovanni and Ivan and I met Luismi later on through shows and whatnot, I used to play bass and sing. I used to play punk songs with Danny after school and one day just decided to have him meet Giovanni and Ivan to have fun playing cover songs. It was fun and we started writing our own stuff and later on we met Luismi and I felt it was best if I was just the vocalist, he wanted to be the bassist already, so we just called him up and basically said "Hey, you're going to play bass, alright?" And that's pretty much it, haha.

RYYP 5:
*When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

AMENDMENT:
I'd say October 06? More or less. We were all close friends and we all loved music. And at the time it seemed like a good idea to have fun playing our favorite songs.

RYYP 6:
*Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?

AMENDMENT:
Right now, no. But we're leaving Puerto Rico and moving to Arizona in two weeks, we'll record our CD, tour a bit, and hopefully it works out for the best.

RYYP 7:
*What can you tell me about your instruments? (i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you play with whatever's available? What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a style/model/brand/color preference?

AMENDMENT:
I can't speak for the rest of the band so I'll have to get back to you on that one.

RYYP 8:
*Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

AMENDMENT:
Hahaha pretty much all around Puerto Rico, there's great venue's but once you play there 5 weekends in a row, you start to hate them, they get old really fast.

RYYP 9:
*Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?

AMENDMENT:
We used to play "Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste" by Norma Jean, but we stopped once we noticed that's all people would remember of our set.
Since we have all new songs we haven't played any yet. We took a break to become a new band, musically.

RYYP 10:
*Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

AMENDMENT:
Pretty much all of us, and there's no specific topic. I mean, yeah, being a Christian does influence my lyrics from time to time, but not always. I basically write about living, and life. And I'm pretty sure as long as I keep living, I'll keep writing.

RYYP 11:
*Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

AMENDMENT:
Guitar Pro. MSN Messenger file transfer/SendSpace .zip uploads. Brief enough?

RYYP 12:
*What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?

AMENDMENT:
Pretty much whenever we can get together we will. And since we're always practicing at home on Guitar Pro, we just play the songs together at once. But now we'll live together in AZ so we'll practice all the time.

RYYP 13:
*How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

AMENDMENT:
Wow, before it was really, um, weird. We're so much heavier now. It's crazy.

RYYP 14:
*What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

AMENDMENT:
Our biggest challenge was some of our parents, putting some pretty strict boundaries at first, but once they noticed we were all serious about it, they couldn't stop us.

RYYP 15:
*What's your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

AMENDMENT:
Not really, we just want to play. As long as we can play all the time and survive when we're not playing without busting our butts off in some workplace, we're happy.

RYYP 16:
*What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

AMENDMENT:
Do it.

RYYP 17:
*How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?

AMENDMENT:
Our MySpace has those really old songs I mentioned earlier. We're going to record our CD in June, so please stick around until the good stuff arrives.

RYYP 18:
*Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?

AMENDMENT:
Our families and friends, everyone that supported us from day one in Puerto Rico, Brandon Henderson, our booking agent for giving us a shot without us even being in the U.S. yet, and everyone that enjoys the music we make and play.

RYYP 19:
*Any last words?

AMENDMENT:
Oh, Chicago will be out this summer. You can get it online once it's out, we hope you enjoy it. And thanks to those that have supported us since the very beginning. We love you all!

Thank You!

RYYP 5:
*When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

SC:We got together a couple years ago as a recording project and as we were writing the songs we thought the material was good. RYYP 1:
*What's the name of your band? What's the origin of that name? Have you changed the band's name before?

CABD: The name of the band is Can a bus dream?
Chris came up with the band name Can a bus? while on a trip to Vancouver BC in 1999, while walking down Hastings. There were all these shops with Cannabis related stuff that as a joke, at first Chris started saying "Can a bus?"
It was after a jam/party night with Glenn that the name changed to Can a bus dream?. "We were sitting around talking, dreaming about being on the road and touring and I just kinda blurted out Can a bus dream?"
We knew right then that Can a bus dream? would be the name of the band.

RYYP 2:
*Please list the website or myspace site you would like to provide to fans or persons in order to find you.

CABD: KickAssMetal. com

RYYP 3:
*What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

CABD: We are a Heavy Metal band. Our common influence is old Metallica, Pantera, and Megadeth. Beyond that, Glenn leans to Iron Maiden, Billy would have to say Slayer, Daniel is a big Dream Theater fan, Joe likes Golden Earring, and Chris is a Sammy Hagar freak

RYYP 4:
*How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

CABD: Glenn and Daniel have known each other the longest and were room mates for about 10 years. Chris met Glenn through Kelly, Glenn's sister, in 1998 or 99. Chris and Billy were neighbors at an apartment complex. When they met Billy was with the band PitKrew. The band met Joe through a former booking agent who recommended Joe's studio for recording. Unlike a lot of bands out there Can a bus dream? are friends first musicians and a band second. The priority is to have fun, if some music comes out of it, cool, so be it.

RYYP 5:
*When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

CABD: Chris and Glenn started the band in 2000 out of friendship and lack of funds to go out every night. It was cheaper to buy a 30 pack of Keystone light and a twenty sack and hang out at Glenn's house and jam than to go to a bar.

RYYP 6:
*Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?

CABD: We are on Kick Ass Metal Records and are members of ASCAP.

RYYP 7:
*What can you tell me about your instruments? (i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you play with

whatever's available? What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a

style/model/brand/color preference?

CABD: Chris uses a Shure wireless mic. Glenn plays Takamine, and Epiphone guitars and uses 2 Crate Heads with a Crate cab. Daniel plays Sonor drums with Zildjian Cymbals. Billy plays a Gibson Explorer and Schecter guitars through a Line 6 head and 1 Marshall and 1 Ampeg cab. Joe plays an Ibanez and a custom built bass through a pod and Ampeg. Sound and comfort are the main reasons each member selected the brands.

RYYP 8:
*Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming

shows?

CABD: We have played all over Texas, and as far east as Jacksonville Florida and North to Chicago west to Las Vegas. Our most interesting show was in Denver in 2004. Without knowing what GLBT was we booked a GLBT Valentin's show in Denver. For those of you who don't know, GLBT is Gay Lesbian Bi and Trans-sexual. Although none of the band members are GLB or T the crowd welcomed us and we ended up having a good time. After that we research every show and venue before agreeing to play.
A favorite would be the National NORML Million Marijuana March Music Festival in Las Vegas in 2007. A lot of our good friends from Dallas took the trip to Vegas and we all had a blast. We had the opportunity to meet Keith Stroup, the founder of NORML as well as many other activist and musicians. It was also the first time we ever had anyone try to sell us a scalp ticket to our own show. Billy and Chris were walking out of the Hotel when some kids tried to sell them a ticket to the show the next day. They almost bought them just because they were honored to have the tickets scalped.
We were supposed to release a new CD on 4/20/08 but being the stoner musicians we are we somehow managed to miss that release date. We are holding off on touring until we finish the CD. In the meantime we put together a mix of old Demo stuff with some stuff from the last CD and a few songs from the new CD and released them in a limited quantity. The CD is called LIMITED EDITION and only 10,000 will be made. Each one is numbered so that collectors can have something to hold on to.

RYYP 9:
*Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?

CABD: You can almost always count on hearing "Stoner Nation" at a Can a bus dream? show but other than that we try to mix it up. We have a long list of songs so it is pretty easy to change the set list from show to show. We don't do covers, but have made one exception which is Metallica's Fade to Black dedicated to the memory of our hero and guitar legend Dimebag. The last show Dime played here at home was at The Ridglea Theater in Ft Worth with DamagePlan. The week he was taken we were headlining the Ridglea and choose that song to show our respect. We have only done the song a couple of times since then and always dedicated to his memory.
In the last few months we have been goofin off with Nazareth Hair of the dog but we have never performed it outside our studio.

RYYP 10:
*Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics

will change over time?

CABD: Everyone writes songs. We all have different taste and styles which we feel keeps the music fresh. A quick example of our diversity would be in The Sinner written primarily by Glenn, Stoner Nation written primarily by Chris and Who I am written primarily by Billy. We are friends, we don't have any per-consieved ideas about how the band should sound or what our message should be, if its fun to play and sounds good we call it a song.

RYYP 11:
*Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

CABD: It is different every time. For example Billy had Who I Am written and we just learned to play it. Then there are songs like Addicted to Rock where Chris came in with lyrics in hand and sang and the band just played around the vocals. Other times Daniel starts a beat and the rest of us just join in. We don't have set way to write a song. We have fun if a song comes out of it cool, if not we had fun.

RYYP 12:
*What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are

rehearsals more spontaneous?

CABD: Our set days together are Friday and Saturday and always begin with some drinking. During the week we just spontaneously get together when ever we can. Sometimes it's just 2 or 3 of us sometimes it's the full band. Even if we don't practice we all talk almost every day.

RYYP 13:
*How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

CABD: That would be more of a question for our fans. We just do what we do. We don't think about it, we don't shoot for a certain sound we just have fun and play. If we have grown it is through repetition and dedication and not intention.

RYYP 14:
*What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

CABD: The biggest challenge as a band has been to find a bass player. We have been through more bass players than socks since we started this band. We believe we have found the fit we are looking for in Joe. He is a good friend and is dedicated to his/our music.

RYYP 15:
*What's your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

CABD: Daniel loves to have his picture taken and sign autographs. The rest of us don't give a rats ass if anyone ever knows us personally. We do like it when people know the band but as far as us as individuals we would just assume remain in the shadows. That doesn't mean we won't stop and pose with a fan or sign something but other than Daniel we won't go out of our way to get in the picture.

RYYP 16:
*What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

CABD: Start with your friends. We've seen so many bands that answered an ad and formed a band. They have massive talent and do great for a few months until they figure out that they can't stand each other. A real band is more than a group of musicians, it's more like a dysfunctional family.

RYYP 17:
*How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?

CABD: If you google Can a bus dream? we are easy to find. We have a page on all the popular music websites and a lot of the underground sites.

RYYP 18:
*Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?

CABD: Thank you Kelly, if not for you we would have never met. Thank you Dave Prior your contribution to the band will be shared by all the world. Thank you Guy, you have been a dedicated supporter over the years. We have had a lot of members come in and out of the band each of you have helped us grow and you are all still good friends.

RYYP 19:
*Any last words?

CABD: 'fire it up'

RYYP 1:
*What's the name of your band? What's the origin of that name? Have you changed the band's name before?

MBD:My Beautiful Disaster. Shannon came up with the name and he has said that it represents all the different types of music that each of us bring to the band. No, the band's name has stayed the same since the beggining

RYYP 2:
*Please list the website or myspace site you would like to provide to fans or persons in order to find you.

MBD: www. myspace. com/mybeautifuldisaster

RYYP 3:
*What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

MBD: Rock, our influences include sugarcult, run dmc, Matchbox 20, Lit, third eye blind, foo fighters....michael bolton...which is our drummers influence...

RYYP 4:
*How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

MBD:I have known shannon for about a year now, I met him through mutual friends and he told me that he was in need of a bass player, and i had been looking for a successful band to join here in nashville since I moved here in 2004 to attend Belmont University. Shannon created the band about 4 years ago.
RYYP 5:
*When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

MBD: Like I said, shannon has had this creation of a band for some time, but all of us have been together for about a year. Shannon and I hit it off as friends since we were interested in the same types of music, had similar personalities and sense of humor. we both love music and want to incorporate it in our lives until the day we die.

RYYP 6:
*Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?

MBD:No we do not currently have a label , although we do have label interest. Shannon is a current member of ASCAP songwriters association

RYYP 7:
*What can you tell me about your instruments? (i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you play with whatever's available? What made you choose the instruments you have now? Was it cost or was it a style/model/brand/color preference?

MBD:As for me (andrew) the bass player, I will play with just about anything. the first bass I ever bought was a $100 yamaha that sounded like a faulty washing machine. but i have grown a liking for Ibanez since then. Shannon came out of his mother's womb strumming his umbillical cord and was coined the umbillical thrillical, so he will play just about anything...

RYYP 8:
*Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

MBD:We have performed all over nashville including exit/in, the rutledge, gibson showcase, On the Rocks...we have also played at many venues in the surrounding states. Our least favorite place to play is Springwater here in nashville. We are convinced that their P/A system was created right at about the time that mankind invented the wheel.

RYYP 9:
*Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?

MBD: we usually incorporate alot of our new songs that we dont even have recorded yet, like yearbook, last time and Saturday. we have played covers before but only play 1 cover per show.

RYYP 10:
*Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

MBD:Shannon wrote all of the original material which includes about 80% of our current recorded songs. but in all of the new songs I (andrew) have co-written with shannon

RYYP 11:
*Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

MBD: Usually shannon or I will either have an idea that has applied to our life at one point or when one of us has a catchy melody, such as yearbook. Yearbook is about how one day shannon looked back at his highschool yearbook and began to wonder what if he took a different direction with his life and where he would be now, and would he be better or worse off. The basic logic of the song is that you do not need to focus on the past but what happiness the future can bring you.

RYYP 12:
*What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?

MBD: We try and reherse just liek it were a live show, by talking inbetween songs and having good transitions inbetween the songs as well. our rehersals usually last 3-4 hours and atleast twice a week.

RYYP 13:
*How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

MBD: I feel like our music just keeps getting better and better. One of the things that bands tend to do is stop writing and keep on playing the same songs over and over. with us, we have new material just about every practice. Our current problem is finding time to finish all of the lyrics to each of our new songs cause every time we try to, we come up with a new and better idea. creating music is just one ongoing learning process and you really can never master, but just keep getting better and better at it

RYYP 14:
*What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

MBD: realistically, we have not a had major challenge. I guess our biggest challenge was getting our van to start a couple of weeks ago to get to a show. The one thing I love about this band that i have have never experienced with the other projects I have been associated with is that i can practice with these guys for 4 hours then still want to hang out afterwords.

RYYP 15:
*What's your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

MBD: Fame and fortune would be nice, but every single one of us would go on tour for free. I told shannon from day one that the money is not important to me. Music is a release for each of us and our stressful daily lives. All we want to do is get our music out to people and hopefully impact one or many with it.

RYYP 16:
*What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

MBD: Do it. It is a great accomplishment and if it is something that you love to do, then you will be hooked for life. Forming bands can create life-long friendships.

RYYP 17:
*How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?

MBD: yes, we do. www. mybeautifuldisaster. com has songs you can purchase for $0.99 each, and we have been mailing Cd's to people who mail us checks of $7.

RYYP 18:
*Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?

MBD: Shannon's wife has been nothing short of amazing when it comes to supporting this band.

RYYP 19:
*Any last words or shout outs?

MBD: Dont fake the funk on a nasty dunk
